Thank you guys for all the encouragement and positive energy.
I was released this afternoon after I could take two bottles of Isopure. I feel a lot better. My doctor switched my meds. Since we tried the liquid suspension of lortab the night before . I had a reaction to it. I broke out had shortness of breath and I was sweating profusely it was the worse feeling. So he switched me to Tylenol with codeine except when I take it it feels like fire inside me. So I think I will pass on pain meds and let it run its course. I still have to do my shots to prevent blood clots and those aren't to bad. Day four four post-op I pray for better days. Thanks again for all the good advice. I truly do appreciate it.

Today is FINALLY MY DAY!!!! GOOD LUCK & God be with all my sleeve sisters and brothers today!! We got this y'all!!!

I report to the hospital at 12:30. Not bad. Hard time sleeping last night. Started having negative thoughts ( mostly about food), then started counting the reasons I am doing this ( no more extenders on planes, no worrry about fitting in booths, no more shopping for plus size, no longer unable to wear certain bracelets, more energy, able to wear all the pretty clothes in my closet that are too small, no worries going swimming, able to do charity walks/runs)

Two more days till my surgery. And I'm so nervous, scared anxious and excited. It's so surreal But reading some recent threads of people who just had their sleeve done makes me feel a lot better and more at ease. I'm deep cleaning my house and my bag is packed.
It's taking me two years to get here, and it was not easy let me tell you. But I can almost see the finish line and it feels victorious !!!! And I'm great full to have God's Blessings and ALL of you for support Wish me luck!!!!

I openly talk about my weight loss surgery to those with questions/concerns. I'm of the camp that WLS is definitely not an easy way out. It really is a tool that you have to take care of and use properly for desired results. I know of many who haven't really changed their relationship with food, thus gaining back much of the weight they lost. My reason for having WLS was to give me a forced behavior modification so that I physically can't overeat - healthy or junk food (ex. eating 6 "Skinny Cow" ice cream bars in one sitting can still make ya fat!). WLS is definitely a tool - why not use it? Life doesn't have to be difficult!

As we enter a new week many prayers for all you ladies ..whether you are starting the pre authorization apt., pre op diet, surgery, post op or just maintaining your weight may God bless you and keep you safe ...

June 10th for me as well! Excited but scared also:/

I'm officially sleeved! I'm about 48 hours post-op now and feeling better than I thought I would! I vomited up some blood after transition from the recovery room to my private observation room, but the staff immediately gave me some good anti-nausea drugs and I was good to go for the rest of Friday (op day). I spent the majority of my time at the hospital sleeping, having vitals done (blood pressure, temp, pulse) - damn, it seems like they woke me up all of the time!!
Saturday morning was much of the same - I was taken down for a barium swallow and the results pleased my doc. Although, back in my room I began to vomit again (not so much blood this time; Fluid and a few pieces of dried blood). My doc suspected it was from the gastric thinner they gave me prior to the barium for the test, but they loaded me up with more anti-nausea meds through my IV and I was good.
After letting me rest for another 3 hours, continuously working on sipping Water, I was released and bound for home! Since being home yesterday, I've been sleeping and sipping - that's my job for now! I have more energy today than I did either of the previous two days and I'm monitoring my liquid intake to get the minimum 64oz. Later today, I'm going to move on to thinned Protein shakes.
As for meds, I've been taking my anti-nausea meds (they dissolve on my tongue) religiously since I've been home - vomiting HURTS and I certainly don't want to land back in the hospital! I've taken my pain meds a few times, but not necessarily because they were essential - just an extra precaution, in my opinion.
I've been awake now for 3 hours, which is the longest stretch I've been awake since the surgery. I make sure I get up and walk, and my kitty cats have been very kind to me - I often wake up to find one sleeping on my lap . My boyfriend is the absolute best after-care nurse I could have asked for, as he whipped up some sugar free Raspberry Ice (crystal light-type drink) this morning for me.
I'm doing great 2 days post-op, and I wish all the same for you! I see my doctor on Thursday for my post-op follow-up. Happy sleeving!

Off topic, but LauraVen, I love your thread on addiction. I wouldn't say it there bc there are too many posters and I'm a wimp, but the vast majority of the ones who say they aren't addicted are, in my opinion, full of s&!t.
Thanks to all. This day is ending better than it started:)

I got my surgery date today: August 13. My VSG will be performed by Dr. Hans Schmidt at Hackensack University Medical Center in NJ. Very excited to be through the insurance approval process (got denied twice - finally won on appeal!) and starting the pre-surgical period!

I have to be at the hospital @6 am Monday morning!! Getting very nervous!!!

Can't believe Monday is only 1 1/2 days away!!!! I have to be at the hospital at 6.30am and I'm the 3rd in line!!!!

I saw my surgeon and I don't have to do a liquid diet before surgery. That is the best news I've heard this week.

June 19th. Nervous and excited. It's surreal.

Finally down to 195lbs down from 300 since feb 4th. I have not weighed this much since middle school in 2001 lol abs and v lines are slowly forming. Working out all the time. However I have a ton of loose skin and stretch marks seem worse. All well ..
