  1. I'm actually wearing mine all day long just to see how much I burn with daily activities. Crazy.
  2. How come my polar doesn't send the info to MFP. I linked them. Also do you feel the calories burned are pretty accurate?
  3. I shall report tomorrow. Any tips are greatly appreciated.
  4. I'm a proud owner of a polar ft4. Went during lunch and changed it. So excited. Thank you all. Ps it was reflecting those calories burned as soon as I put the battery in without me doing anything. Lol
  5. So I bought a Fitbit Zip and needless to say its going back to the store. I'm going with the polar. FB was saying I burned over a 1000 calories without me doing anything. Ugh.
  6. Yay that is why I thought it would be better to get a HRM. I'm not really trusting the calories burned with MFP. I have to be as accurate as possible. I don't want to be over on my calories. I was also looking at the Fitbit. A lot of great reviews for that one as well as the polar.
  7. Sorry Linda. I had my surgery on May 22. Great recovery. Haven't been sick once.
  8. Hi Linda. I met with DLC too. Rabaza uses South Miami. They have a great staff there. Their support system is amazing. I was so surprised. I started with DLC but eventually changed due the insurance not covering. I'm actually happy that happened because the support system I'm getting the SMiami group is amazing. You can email the main person and she is quick to reply. She visits you in the hospital. Very involved and personable. Very important to me. Rabaza is very detailed and returns your call if you have an issue or concern. I have blue shield is my carrier. So I guess you are seeing Noel (nut)?
  9. I didn't have any issues and was given yogurt while in the hospital. No pain at all except the ng tube. Incisions healed beautifully. Yogurt is ok. Check with your Dr
  10. Linda, I'm in Miami and feel the same ad the OP. I didn't have one issue. No if anything. My surgeon was Dr Jorge Rabaza.
  11. The new whey shots are made with collagen and your body doesn't absorb it. My nut said its not good
  12. Don't drink the new whey protein bullets. They have collagen and your body doesn't absorb.
  13. I just read the report you mentioned. The risk are no higher than a Lapo or open surgery. Human error can always occur. Whoever decides to have surgery and think that there is no risk, needs to re think again. My sister had an open gastric bypass and the surgeon ruptured her spleen. Her immune system has been compromised and she has had a lot of issues until she went to my surgeons office and corrected some of the problems. She is better but her immune system will never be the same. Surgery = Risks. Experienced surgeons= less risks in my book.
  14. I think I may be going with them. I'm not really in a position to spend so much but do want something that can be linked to MFP.
  15. I'm 3 1/2 wks out and I can relate to everything mentioned here. As many have stated before, we had surgery on our stomachs and not our brains. (Though it should be done as a combo, lol). I have found since having the surgery that writing in a journal is very helpful. I write whatever I truly feel, bad or good and just very truthful. It's very liberating. Also, I too have experienced that I don't feel the fullness but I choose to just eat the recommended amount. I also have been using MFP and love to hold myself accountable which helps with my mental journey. I'm a slow loser and I'm ok with that. I've never lost 19 lbs in 3 weeks. I also think its better to lose it slower because I will work harder to lose it. If you wish to lose more, little changes can make a huge difference. I started using the stairs vs the elevator. I bought Richard Simmons sweating to the oldies to actually have fun and not feel that I'm torturing myself. My littles do it with. You burn a lot of calories. You are doing well. One day at a time and have faith in yourself. It's easier said than done. Lol I know that personally. Best wishes to you.
  16. Very normal. Remember your stomach is swollen and you were filled with gas. Mine went away after a week n half
  17. 4 nights but only because I had a lot of scar tissue from an open surgery n they wanted to make sure everything was fine. If not it would have only been two nites
  18. My was robotic. Amazing recovery. No pain. The only I had was in my left shoulder from gas and the NG tube. My stomach area inside and out was pain free. Definitely the best way.
  19. Thanks Don. Heart rate monitor
  20. Heart rate monitor. It helps tracked heart rate and calories burned. Thanks Don. Will look into that.
  21. I want to buy one. Pls share.
  22. I did. I had mind taken out on day 8. Weird sensation when they pull it out.
  23. I have always had a solid and passionate marriage, but now my energy is even higher. It's tough, I work full time with 4 kids as well as him. He is my best friend and of course much more. Hey even though MFP doesn't have it listed, intimacy burns a good amount of calories too. Lol.
