  1. Hmmmmm........they didn't tell me about the dies the day before surgery...thanks for posting that!
  2. So, I was thinking.....if SF Jello is okay on the clear liquid diet, do you think SF jigglers should be? Well, that's what I was thinking, so I made it yesterday with some lime jello......BUT it kind of tastes like what you'd think Pledge would taste like LOL. I think it's too concentrated for the SF chemicals that replace the sugar LOL Maybe a different flavor would have been better, I don't know. Anyone try it? Thanks!
  3. you look fabulous! Congrats!
  4. I like the premade Premier Protein.....a 4 pack is available at walgreens......an 18 pack is available at Costco (and maybe Sam's, BJ's.....you might want to try walmart) Good luck!
  5. Doing a 2 day clear liquid.....and was specifically told I couldn't drink the Isopure clear drinks.....I am working the day before....figured I could use one of those for a little sustenance
  6. I have my son's baby spoon I could use if need be LOL
  7. Sending good thoughts your way for today's surgery!
  8. Mine is a 12 day diet consisting of 3 protein shakes and 2 cups of plain, nonfat yogurt and all the water I want LOL (plus broth, SF popsicles/jello).....plus 2 days of clear liquids......haven't cheated.....I've come too far to screw it up....good luck....
  9. Is anyone else having trouble getting in all of their shakes/meals? My preop consists of 3 protein drinks & 2 cups of plain yogurt......and for a couple of days I've missed one of the shakes. I've been practicing taking small bites with the yogurt.....yesterday it took me 45 minutes to eat 1/2 a cup of yogurt---then I was full (or uninterested, don't know which), but I couldn't take another bite...and had to put the remainder in the fridge for later. Anyone else experience this? Thanks.
  10. Welcome! Read as much as you can about the sleeve....go to a support group early in this process if you can--your surgeon and local hospitals should have support groups. There are a lot of books available, there are a bunch of UTube videos...even youtube videos of actual surgeries, if you are up for them. FYI.......Glad I wasn't the only one who found going to their PCP difficult too.
  11. Thanks for the visual......I've accepted the fact the girls might get deflated....just not sure if DH has LOL
  12. Gamergirl, prayers are going out to you & your hubby, and all our 8/2 sleevers!
  13. A lot of people find it gets better. I'm on Day 11, and it's gone pretty good.....but I had a brain fart last night....I picked up chili on the way home for DH and picked up one for me (habit).... So, he has a 2nd chili in the freezer. Good luck....you'll do fine.
  14. I was told 2 weeks by my doctor.....it still strikes me odd that there's such a discrepancy between doctors on so many things
  15. I am on the BA shakes as well.....and initially the gas was horrific.....the Gax-X strips have helped a whole lot (disolve 2-4 right after a meal)....then one day the gas seemed to have gone away on its own.
  16. Oh my gosh, what a transformation! Love the picture showing off your hourglass figure....you look so much younger.....you gotta love that! (well, at my age I'd love it LOL) We all lose at different rates, but would you share what your meals for a typical day would consist of and what you are doing for exercise? Thanks! This is so exciting to see as a pre-op, thank you fors haring!
  17. Good luck to you & everyone else today!
  18. Here's a list someone put together: http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/10081-the-official-what-you-will-need-for-your-gastric-sleeve-surgery-thread/ Right at the top of the first post there is a word document with a list. (I'm thinking: chapstick, book, cell phone/charger, small pillow, a deck of cards, ear plugs, pad of paper, pencil/pens, maxi dress, case for glasses) I plan on wearing a pair of sandals that slip on....can wear them to/from the hospital and during my stay while walking around.
  19. I was too scared to cheat at first....today's day 10, and now it just doesn't hold any interest......getting too close to surgery to screw it up.
  20. Sounds like you may have found your culprit.....you need water/liquids....I'm typically the queen of dehydration...not only should you feel better, the anesthesiologist will have an easier time getting the IV in if you are hydrated (I've had my veins dry up when having blood drawn--very scary).....I aim for 100 ounces of liquids per day during pre-op. Hope this helps. Good luck!
  21. Hang in there. What brand of shakes are you drinking? Have you tried a different brand? How's your Water, are you drinking enough fluids? Ask your doctor if you can you switch a shake for an Isopure clear liquid....they're sort of like Gatorade....but protein I've lost my appetite....for anything...it's a chore to get in that last meal....Good luck....we're here for ya!
  22. Sorry you had to go through this.....but love your attitude!!!!
  23. When I get to that point, I may try this.....too funny LOL
