  1. Single incision? How exciting! I'm having laproscopic and should be 1 hour for the procedure. AND I HAVE to ask.................is anyone else's tummy doing summersaults/grumbling? I'm actually embarrassed because other people hear it......last night I was in line at the store and the person behind me asked "what the hell was that? did you hear it?"......I played dumb......sorry, didn't hear a thing LOL Day 1 went well, and day 2 even better......I had an epiphany last night......since I am allowed 2c of yogurt a day, a thought crossed my mind........1 serving of Protein powder (choc), mixed in with the yogurt (either 1/2 or 1 cup) was a bit like pudding.....so I was able to sit down and eat something with hubby rather than drink my dinner.....I was quite happy about that. Although it's going very good, I am still jealous of those of you who have a small meal with actual food LOL We can do this 8/6 sleevers! Enjoy your day!
  2. WOW! What a difference (now you need to change your profile picture) Congrats!
  3. I remember reading about possible frothing after post op....spitting up some white frothy stuff....is this something that only happens to baby sleevers? Or is this something that can happen farther along in the sleeved life? Thanks!
  4. You may want to examine the reason why you had the sushi---and address it.....BUT don't beat yourself up over it.....make it a learning experience, and move on. We are in it for the long hall, and 2 weeks is nothing, it's temporary.....you can do it....I'm right there with ya! And about the coworkers..... ....ignore them.....go somewhere else at lunch time.....you don't need anyone bringing you down.....this is challenging enough as it is. Glad you got your head back in the game.....and if sushi (or something else) calls your name.....go for a walk, call a friend, play a game of cards/solitaire.....just focus on something else......of course, you could always blog your frustration on VST.....we're here for ya!
  5. Source: Sweets, Snacks, Sneaks And Lies This isn't my blog entry.....but it's so wonderfully written and inspiring, I am adding it to my blog so I know where to find it again.....Thank you WriterGirl!
  6. This is definitely going into my file! Thank you for reviving it!
  7. So, I should probably preface this with I either don't feel pain like most or I have vast experience in ignoring it really, really well LOL.....I'll save the gory details I've experienced my fair share of broken bones and surgeries over the years. However, I just don't think we need to experience undue pain if it's avoidable. After my gallbladder was removed, I took one pain killer the following day (don't remember what they gave me in the hospital)...sure it was sore, but nothing to write home about.....I'd rather be sore than loopy LOL I'm hoping the pain from VSG will be similar. The surgeon's office told me they suport patients taking pain meds at night so they can sleep, but would prefer no pain meds during the day so patients can get in all their water, etc. following surgery, because if you're asleep during the day, you're not drinking.....sounds logical enough...... BUT if I have to, I'll be taking the pain meds....even if it's just 1/2 a dose to take the edge off......At this stage in my life, I'm too damn old to put up with unnecessary pain 13 days and counting.......and you know I'll have a new post on pain post-op in 14 days or so LOL (still hard to believe us 8/6 sleevers are so close)
  8. Ashlee, I've been wondering how you've been.....so glad to hear you are feeling better!
  9. If you use the search feature at the top of the screen, type in remorse, and select forums, then the magnifying glass, some threads should come up. Here's one that I remember because there was a member who has remorse.....it's important to see the good, the bad, and the ugly (IMVHO) http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/86029-buyers-remorse-anyone/page__hl__remorse
  10. I used almond milk, so I don't think it's that....however, I found this online: "If the ingredient list includes any of the following ingredients, it has lactose: whey, curds, milk by-products, dry milk solids, and nonfat dry milk powder".......and the powder has whey as the first ingredient......hmmmmm Thanks!
  11. Nope, I'm 13 days away (but who's counting?) LOL
  12. Sherri, you're too funny! I did check the elastic on something and it was good.....but I was thinking about that, too....I have some gorgeous suits I used to wear to the office......If they are still in good condition, those are something I'd keep
  13. NSweety, that's strong motivation....wishing you the best on this journey!
  14. Wow....that's incredible.....are you sure that's not a picture of your mother in the pool? I'm sure I'll be a wrinkly mess at goal weight LOL But you look just lovely!!! Thank you for sharing.
  15. Open my own store, too funny. The original purpose was to pull them out, wash, dry, and hang them downstairs by size (we have a huge area for that)......however I didn't realize how much was up there...... About the hubby.....I didn't want him to come home and walk in on that mess in the hallway......I put it in the spare bedroom....I fessed up, showed him the piles of clothing...he just laughs at me.....I'll go through it...I did see sizes 20-14 (which I think would serve me well for a few months after surgery)....but who knows how dated they are LOL Thanks everyone!
  16. Okay, bet you're sick of seeing my face here.....but, can we talk pre-op diet side effects? I have the worst gas.....oh my gosh.....thank goodness I"m home today....but seriously, it's soooooo bad....even I don't want to be around me LOL On the plus side, I have energy to burn.....I don't have caffeine w/d because I don't drink it (I don't avoid it....but I don't drink soda any longer, and not a tea nor coffee drinker.....thankful that's not a problem) Anyone else?
  17. you might want to try their sample pack....includes 2 of each....unflavored, chocolate, vanilla, chicken, and strawberry sorbet (the strawberry is GREAT mixed with crystal light lemonade)
  18. this was a prescription for administering it post op
  19. Oh my gosh, I went into the attic to take down my old clothes......I knew I probably had 2 sizes worth......I really wasn't ready for what I found up there......it looks like a hoarder got a hold of my hallway..... I don't know how well you can see it, but these are most of the clothes that were in the attic....yes there are more (but not much)......the pile is about 7 feet long, and 2 feet high, and most of it is in those space age vacuum bags.....yikes! Now, I have 45 minutes to find a home for it before DH comes home and has a cow (he is as neat as they come) LOL The question is do I 1) quickly hide them; 2) fess up; or 3) throw them into the car and madly drive to Goodwill, drop them off and buy what I need as I lose weight? I'm kind of liking the last idea, except is in direct conflict with my typical frugal nature..... I don't know what made me do it today, other than I have the energy to do it.....I suppose I should have vacuumed instead LOL It's hot as anything up there, and now I'm soaking....I have water droplets on my glasses.. So, here's the picture......blurry as it is
  20. You look wonderful.....and congrats on a job well done!
  21. Aww Cindy, that's great news....nervous is normal, I'm sure!
  22. I have to take 2T of milk of magnesia the day before surgery.....you may want to check with the doctor.....good luck tomorrow!
  23. When I first started this journey, it seemed every other day I was changing my mind about it.....somewhere along the way, I finally came to grips with it....still have a little anxiety over some things, but doing a pros/cons of WLS helped. Good luck!
  24. Wow, that's quick. Good for you.............congrats!!!!
