  1. Good luck! Praying for an uneventful surgery and quick recovery. Best wishes to you & all our July 11th sleevers!
  2. congratulations.....good luck!
  3. I just called cigna, and they said my dr's office submitted the information today......my doctors office told me they submitted it eight days ago....that's just not nice. grrrrrrr
  4. How many business days did it take for cigna to reply after paperwork was submitted? I started this process before the 90 day rule, so a bit anxious about that issue.....and it could be an issue......anxious to get approved & sleeved.....don't want to wait another month. Good luck!
  5. That's not unnecessary whining at all.....I don't think I'd have as much self control as you've shown. I can just see me stopping in for an update "because I was in the neighborhood" (ummm, it's about an hour away) LOL Good luck!
  6. Welcome, and Congrats to you both! Mine was submitted 7/2.....and I am waiting impatiently LOL
  7. Absolutely.....it's not the caffeine, but the taste, and the convenience.....plus I have a boat load of them.....THANKS!
  8. Is anyone on Tamoxifen? Did the side effects change post op? Many thanks!
  9. I've read some of the posts about caffeine, and the caffeine issue seems to differ from doctor to doctor... I don't drink coffee or tea, and stopped drinking soda, so when the NUT & I had our caffeine discussion, I was thinking: Not a problem...I don't consume any, period. that was back in April.......however, I neglected to consider the iced tea I drink in the summer...... it has 10 calories and I believe 30 mg of caffeine. I mix it with 20-24 ounces of Water, and I sip it over a 4 hour period. (it's the 1/2 & 1/2 arnold palmer stix).....so I'm thinking each hour I'm taking in about 5-8 mg of caffeine.....and consume it once a day. It doesn't seem like a lot of caffeine, but I'm wondering.....is it too much to consume post op? Is any caffeine too much? What are your thoughts? (I'll go back to my NUT and ask her about this too) For a point of reference, the Mayo Clinic has the following on their page for 8 oz of coffee..... Generic Brewed coffee has 95-200 mg and Generic Brewed Decaf Coffee 2-12 mg (I assumed decaf had zero) Many thanks! EDITED: When I think about drinking this, I'm thinking down the road 6 months when our tummies are healed....thanks again!
  10. So glad you posted that about Facebook....was afraid I was the only one LOL But want to keep this off facebook. Welcome all our newbies.....I'm preop, but have been lurking for a few months. waiting on insurance....
  11. I'm doing water fit classes.....very fun, get a great work out, and easy on the joints.....will be working with a trainer soon for weights. Welcome, and good luck!
  12. I am still pre-op.....but I've told my hubby & one sibling who were both threatened with death if they uttered even a single word about it LOL......
  13. Welcome BB! If you are going through your insurance, find out what they cover and their requirements.....everything varies from policy to policy.....Some require 6 months of visits with a nutritionist/dietitian.......others require 3......plus a lot of other tests and doctors appointments......fun stuff LOL If all goes well, I should have surgery in 4 months from that initial informational session. Good luck!
  14. Welcome, Jenn! I've heard of folks whose insurance used the original weigh in......you'll have to see what happens.....keep us posted.....my paperwork was sent to Cigna last week....but my BMI is higher.....best wishes
  15. WOW, that's wonderful! Lucky you!
  16. Oh Kailie, that's great news!!!!!! Congratulations.....will want a full report after you get home I'm waiting for the call......and today I'm getting anxious.....and it's only been a week LOL
  17. These are a couple of my surgery experiences....you'll do fine. One time they had me counting backwards from 100, and I'm thinking "this is never going to work".....got to 97 and the next thing I knew I was in recovery. One other time, I was quite nervous, the dr was trying to get me to relax and kept having me describe to him my favorite vacation spot......I thought he was nuts.....then I look around the room, and there is like 7 people all standing there around the operating table, just staring at me.....waiting, and I realize, oh, this is the part that I'm supposed to be out LOL I closed my eyes, thought of a beach, and that was it. With a general anesthesia, I'm very groggy and typically grumpy when they wake me up LOL I was hoping they'd do a twilight type anesthesia for this operation--no such luck. LOL
  18. I have one too....found it during the endoscopy..............as SassyGirl said, they told me it will be taken care of during the VSG surgery....good luck!
  19. Is anyone else on tamoxifen? How were did the side effects differ after surgery, if at all? Thanks
  20. I tried these years ago......I couldn't eat the pepper flavor.....really spicy (IMHO)
  21. Welcome, and congratulations!!!! It's interesting to see how doctors' recommendations differ.....for me it will be a week of clear liquids, then a week of full liquids, then a week of puree.....and perhaps by the 3 or 4th week soft foods.....Best wishes
  22. I am so glad yo posted this.....I am obsessed....absolutely, positively obsessed. Paperwork was submitted a week ago, and I've been pretty calm about it until this morning.....and, today I want an answer now LOL.....I hope to know by the end of the week if it's approved......I am trying to read up on everything I can about this, watching videos....etc. While being pre-op, has anyone gone to a support group for WLS? I'm thinking about going to one tonight, but don't look forward to the hour long drive.....
  23. This is a toughy for me.....I'm pre-op and still working on what to tell people. If your husband isn't going to the party, could you just show up that day alone and say he's not feeling well? (I'm sure he'll be sore at least and not feeling his best)
