  1. Still in the preop phase w/o a date.....BUT the insurance co. is asking for more information from the surgeon since opening my case for VSG....and included is a request for a surgery date.....I'm hopeful this week we'll have a tentative date on the calendar (dependent upon Ins. approval, of course)....I think I'd be a nut case if it wasn't for VST members and sharing their experiences.
  2. How exciting............good luck!
  3. I got the sample box from Unjury for about $20......and I liked the unflavored......I didn't notice any taste.
  4. Oh thank goodness! Many thanks!
  5. I like "not your mother's jeans" quite a bit.....I had to go down a size.....they come in petites, however, my store didn't carry them, so I bought a regular and just hemmed them up myself (at that price, they should have been hemmed for me LOL) I'm 5'1, and the waist to crotch measurement was fine....no low rise there......good luck!
  6. I'm still preop, but they found my hiatal hernia in the endoscopy......I was wondering what they would use to seal it....I had seen a you tube video of a surgery repairing a HH, and they used something from a pig.......kind of creepy and really cool at the same time
  7. So, I don't know if this is good, bad, or normal......today I got a letter from Cigna (well it's a copy of a letter they sent to my doctor)......wanting more information.....and all of what they are asking should have been with the doctor's office (sounds familiar, huh?).....did anyone else get this? One odd thing is they want to know the admit date, surgery date......and I don't have that yet.....that was dependent upon being approved (or so I thought).......of course it's a weekend, and I can't get in touch with the doctor's office.....so I definitely won't have my answer by Wednesday.....darn! (go ahead and substitute that for a stronger word, I did LOL) Oh well, wish me luck.......and a lot of patience......thanks!
  8. That's terrific! Glad to see your health has really improved......of course, you look great!
  9. Jeanie, I'm in the approval process.......hopefully by Wednesday........I was hoping to have surgery this month, but doesn't look like that will happen.....maybe August..
  10. That's one issue I was worried as well.....my sister lost quite a bit of weight and she now has dimples by her mouth....so cute.......and at 51, she looks younger.....I'm right behind her turning 50 very soon.....
  11. Now that I think of it, I'm not sure what weight they used for me....they will have the surgeon's, PCP's, and the nutritionists' documented weights, I'm sure.......I should know soon.....now I don't know if I'm excited or scared to death LOL Good luck.....will keep ya posted....you do the same....Yeeha!
  12. Just a quick follow up, my Dr's sent over paperwork on 7/2.....on 7/10 I called Cigna, and they said they just received it that day. When I emailed my dr's office, this is what they said: "When we open a request for authorization they send us a fax with a barcode and a fax number which directs it straight to a nurse case manager that reviews our request. So maybe it was sent to the nurse and scanned under your record for review yesterday" The good news.......for now.......The person at Cigna told me they would have a reply within 5 days.......I'm assuming that doesn't include weekends....... good luck to everyone.
  13. I'm not stressing over the pre-op....but maybe because I'm not there yet...........I've gone over with the NUT repeatedly what it consists of and, can I tell you, I'm a little jealous of those that get a meal? LOL
  14. I was watching your posts, too............so very, very happy for you....good luck on Monday!
  15. I have a biggie for next year...to wear my wedding band and fit into my wedding dress on our 30th anniversary......but there are so many things I'm looking forward to before I get to that point, and most of which have already been said by others.....cheers!
  16. well, good luck.......I'm still waiting myself for approval....Maybe next Tuesday.....after that I can get a date......wishing you well and hope you get an answer from the doctors today!
  17. the procedure only took minutes......but we also did a lower GI, the 2 hours included going down there and getting hooked up, getting the IV in, etc.
  18. PS we only live 10 minutes away from where I had the endoscopy
  19. Yup, I knew right away I had a hernia that needs attention......the H.Pylori test will take a few days.......my husband went with me until they wheeled me out......then he went home for a couple of hours, and they called him, and he was there when I woke up.....
  20. I don't recall what they gave me, but definitely NOT general anesthesia......they called it twilight........I was talking to the doctor, and it was clear they were waiting on me....I closed my eyes, and the next think I knew I was in the recovery room LOL The best part of it (well besides not being aware of things).....was waking up refreshed, not groggy.....I've had outpatient surgery/procedures, and I've always asked for the twilight......I seem to surprise them, but I'd prefer that over general anesthesia any day....good luck....you'll do fine.
  21. you look fabulous! I cant believe all the changes in one month, wow! Thank you for sharing!
  22. This issue still plagues me......for now mum's the word......but as someone pointed out, people will probably figure it out on their own...I've been large too long.....
  23. You look great! Keep up the good work!
  24. Thank you for sharing! Very cool.....do you know what was the purpose of blowing up the part of the stomach that was removed? (I have to say, that was quite impressive!)
  25. Typically my dr. has patients in the hospital for 2 days.
