This is a huge debate on here...just a warning .
Personally, I'm 3 weeks post-op and have been using them. I went slow at first before I knew how they'd effect me, but I love my McDonald's unsweet iced tea with my straw!

When you are sitting around and you think I want something to eat and go get it, but knowing that you were not really hungry (stomach wise)! Also, you have a few bites left in your plate and you are so full, but your brain says, oh it is only a few bites go ahead and eat it!

Love this...all of these women weigh the same weight...even though we KNOW this intuitively, it is a nice reminder that we shouldn't be a slave to the actual number that the scale says because it means very little.

I know how you feel. I am 2 weeks out and I just eat something because I know I need it. I only eat just enough to get me by. It is not that you don't want to eat, it is just that if you can't have something you want you would rather not eat anything!

1 year ago today I was wheeled into surgery, I was such a sad person, I was so unhealthy and had tried everything i could to lose weight. Today I'm 125 lbs lighter and over 96 inches of fat lost (that's 8 feet of fat!). Thank God I took this step!

momofjal reacted to Carly4HandinSD in 9 months, 134 pounds - Pics included :)
I was 9 months post op as of June 14th. I have lost 134 pounds since the day of surgery. Pics are from day of surgery and this morning.
I still want to lose another 82 pounds or so..but am so ahppy with my results so far. Weight loss has slowed down a lot, but its still coming off.. I am very dedicated to following and tracking my food... I stay within 800-1000 cals a day, at least 60-80 grams of Protein and try to stay under 40 carbs. If i do my work outs which consist of boxing/kickboxing classes at a boxing gym then I up the calories and protein..
I take lots of walks with my husband and dog, the more I lose the more active I become.
I hope this helps people who start out with a large amount to lose like myself and are unsure if this can work for them. It can work for you if you use it as a tool to help you. It comes with hard work and will power, but it can be done...
I can't say it enough, but I LOVE my sleeve and the new outlook I have on life

Well, some semi-legal advice: GET OFF THE INTERNET and do NOT post any more about this. As much as we'd like to help you may let something slip that your hubby can use against you and jeopardize your interests. This can be a major life, health, legal and financial issue and you are not going to get any real help on the internet.
Get some REAL help next, seek advice form councilors or a help group. Talk this out with HIM, NOT us. If things escalate then secure the services of a good lawyer and decide what to do.
Above all PROTECT YOUR INTERESTS - NO ONE else is going to, so YOU have to.
We all wish you the best.

Several years ago I asked my dad what he wanted for Father's Day. He told me that he wanted me to lose 50 pounds. Now he wasn't mean about it or ugly in any way, he just wanted me to be healthy. I've dieted off and on since then but never lost as much as 50 pounds at one time or even anywhere close to Father's Day. This year for Father's Day I was able to tell him that I've lost just over 80 pounds since the end of February. He cried when I told him, then he laughed! He told me that my overall health was the most important thing to him first off, but #2 just how much plastic surgery was I going to need to keep me from flapping in the wind?!? LOL! That, Daddy, is yet to be determined!

She was apparently sleeved not too long ago and has decided to keep it hidden. What she isn't mentioning to people on here is that she is really super harsh and makes fun of people who cannot "do it on their own". Almost no one knows she was sleeved.
Also, she will be very shocked to find out that I now know she trolls VST and reads my posts and posts of her other friends that she then puts down for having the surgery. You would DIE if you knew who slipped your secret.
I wanted to offer you a chance to stop saying the nasty, critical things you say while acting like you are "just changing old habits".
And, yes, I really enjoy the thought of you peeing your pants as you troll this post.
So with that said - has anyone else had this happen? I would not put much past this person, but it still seems so extreme. I never dreamed anyone would be this passive aggressive.

From smoothie Girl Eats Too Blog
    http://www.smoothiegirleatstoo.com/2010/11/moist-low-calorie-microwave-protein-fudge-muffins/
This is seriously AMAZING! I use the applesauce instead of the pumpkin and use 1 TBSP of coconut flour and 1 TBSP of Protein powder. I also have added a TBSP of sugar free pudding. I have made the chocolate below, vanilla using vanilla Protein Powder and SF vanilla pudding (adds 25 calories), and cheesecake using vanilla Protein Powder and cheesecake SF pudding. With the coconut flour, they are so light and delicious! I also just use a whole egg instead of egg whites (70 cal vs 30 cal), but that is just me.
With my changes the stats are a little higher: Per Serving: 194Cal 23g Carbs 9g fat 15g Protein 5g Fiber 6g sugar
Note that I am 2.5 years post op. I can eat one of these, but it is VERY filling. Newer post ops might be able to do half if lucky!
    Ingredients:
2 Egg whites (**If using liquid egg whites use 1/2 cup and add 20 calories)
1/4 cup pumpkin (3 T applesauce or other starchy carb works well too!)
2 T coconut flour* (1 T also works, and results in 40 fewer calories)
    1/2 tsp baking powder
stevia or other granular sweetener to taste
1 T. cocoa powder (Hershey’s Special dark cocoa is best!)

*(Edited to add: Hallie asked if whole wheat or peanut flours could sub for the coconut flour. I decided to do a test for those two and they both work. The whole wheat is not quite as moist; it’s a bit more chewy, but the peanut flour is very moist. All taste great. My fave is still coconut flour, but obviously you can use whatever you have on hand!). Also, some other subs for pumpkin or applesauce are bananas or yogurt which are quite good too. I love all the reader feedback!
    Method:
Spray a Soup bowl with a very light layer of oil to prevent sticking (not even necessary but makes cleaning up a bit easier).
Mix ingredients well with fork, whisk or spatula
Microwave for 2:30-4+ min on High (depends on your microwave, altitude and the whim of the cupcake gods.)

I've had tons of fun buying clothes at the thrift stores. One of places is super organized by size and color. I can zip in and fill up a cart of stuff in about 10 minutes... pants, shirts, jeans, shorts. It's way too expensive to buy brand new stuff during the huge weight loss stage. (Specifically casual business clothes.) Shoes, however, I don't buy used. I dropped from a size 11 to a 9-1/2. My bra size dropped from 48C to 40C - still a C-cup but I'm sure that will eventually drop. For NOW, I'm enjoying the girls. LOL (I mean, they look HUGE now that the tummy is smaller.)
