luckysmomma got a reaction from Scorpion11 in anyone NOT lost their hairI
It happens to many...so be prepared...doesn't matter if you do everything perfectly....it can still happen and does happen to many... as you can see only a handful posted that they had not....
My hair is all I got and when it started at the 4mth marked...I freaked. I am still freaking. I have long thick hair to my butt. Now, it is thin. No one has commented on/noticed it to my face - I hope no one ever does. But I see it in the mirror, see in the sink drain, in the shower, in my brush...and I do it all the Vitamins, the Protein, the shampoos, etc..I have spent a fortune on it to be quite honest. . I am at the 10th mark now; it has slowed, but I am still losing. I hate that I think I look okay in clothes again, but hate my hair now when I used to love it. Many have posted that 2 years out is the longest Hair loss has lasted (that I have read on a post), so I hope mine stops in a year since it is already slowing.
Good luck to all of us with this issue.

luckysmomma got a reaction from planetheather in Best and worst "compliments"
Best ...a person told me I looked like the old me again & was acting like the old me, again....meaning my high school/college days - looks & outgoing personality...I don't see anything remotely close to that yet, but this person was sincere...so, I must be doing a little better than I thought. WORST - "you have lost 80 some lbs, so you need to lose that much more & you'll be looking good, girl, right?" - such an @$$hole!!!

I have had no complications - knock on wood. I have lost a lot of weight & my mobility ( my number 1 reason for having wls) is much better...but with that being said, I would NOT do it over again. I thought I was ready wls after a year of preparing, but the mental/emotional/social aspect I was not prepared for...I am not me now eating and drinking this way. I hate the way my life is now when it comes to food. Time has given me peace with my decision. I am nearing 8 mths out, but I am not happy about my sleeve. I am making lemonade out of lemons. But I do regret it each and every day. I am in a tiny minority here as you can see. So, don't be nervous, do what is best for you. Best of luck to you.

I think what you feel is a wildly undiscussed commonality with some sleeve patients. It's an effective surgery but it is not for everyone. That's why when I talk to people who want this surgery, I really tell them to think seriously about what they're doing.

luckysmomma got a reaction from noamy4life in Seriously, veterans, how long does hair loss last?
I am 7 months out...my Hair loss didn't begin until about 4 1/2 months out...it is getting really bad (and I fear- noticeable to others & no one knows I had wls surgery)...I would like to hear from those 7 months out and beyond...how long will it the shedding and loss truly last? Yes, I am taking Biotin, prenatal, collagen & all other Vitamins for hair. Yes, I am not styling/using styling products like I used to. Yes, I am not shampooing like I used to. Yes, I have tried various shampoos/conditioners. Yes, I am getting in my Protein. So, I know the hair is inevitable for most wls people...I just want to know how much longer can I expect to keep up this amount of shedding and hair loss???? 1 year? over a year out? how long? Please veterans respond! Thanks!!

luckysmomma got a reaction from ReDbEaN in Tired of women leaving me for the "cute skinny guy"
Well, I am sorry you have been through all this...but honestly, I think men are much more judgmental on women's appearances (especially weight) than women are. I was skinny once upon a time...and I loved big guys - big & tall. As an obese woman, I still loved big guys - big & tall. I am sure when I get skinny again...I will still like my guys - big & tall. I am just not attracted to skinny men, or men on the more slender end of the stick. Just as I am certain that there are men who were not attracted to me at 5'10" at 150 or 5'10" at 300 plus. Physical attraction is just a mere very small part of the equation of a good relationship...in my eyes, a whole lot more counts...a whole lot more. Just my two cents!!

There's nothing you can do really...keep up your Protein, but in the end, there's nothing you can do about the Hair loss except just wait it out..it does stop eventually. I have read several posts about the length of time, but I think a year is out is the longest out I have read about hair loss. I have only read one post about going bald, but the person had had several complications. Mine started about month 4; I am nearing 7 months...it is still happening. I have tried every shampoo/conditioner combo out there. I take prenatal & Biotin. I have tried washing/not washing, styling/not styling, trimming/not trimming...it is still coming out & knotting up. I wish I had more positive to tell you. My heart is broken over it because my hair is all I have & finally being skinny again is in reach, but with crappy hair...very discouraging to me. I knew it would happen, but till it does a person isn't prepared for it. Best of luck to all of us with it.
