  1. Here you go: The pre-op diet is NOT a punishment ... it's an opportunity.
  2. Jim, may I recommend to you that you click and read the link in my signature about the preop diet? It will be worth your time. And listen to Laura-ven!
  3. You owe me a new keyboard - there's now drool all over mine.
  4. What do you normally do when you go to the gym?
  5. Does the pain go away in about 30 seconds to a minute? If so, you might be drinking too much as a time. Try sipping and waiting, sipping and waiting.
  6. You shouldn't feel this bad the entire 10 days, just the first 3 or 4. You'll be surprised how good you feel on so little nourishment after that. You'll have energy too!
  7. Welcome! Good to have you here. Drink that Water and make sure you're getting that Protein in! It gets better, just a few more days to go!
  8. Only a few more days to go! I know you don't want to hear this, but make sure you're drinking that Water - it's important. Also, make sure you're getting that Protein. You got this!
  9. Welcome Shelle. Lots of good people here, it's a good place to be!
  10. Anyone have recommendations about PB2, what brand is best, where to get it, etc? Thanks!
  11. Thanks for sharing with us, I enjoyed reading it! You're an inspiration to me and I'm sure many others here! You don't have to go to the gym and spend time on every single machine there to feel like you've accomplished something. For starters, tomorrow go and walk the treadmill for 10 minutes. Bring a book with you, music, whatever you'd like. That's it, you're done for tomorrow. Do the same thing the day after. And the day after that. It's not about motivation, it's doing something necessary in your life to take care of yourself. No different than brushing your teeth. And you do it because you deserve to take care of yourself. If the treadmill isn't your thing, try the elliptical or anything else that's easy for you. In 30 days evaluate what's working for you and what your next goal will be (upping that 10 to 15 minutes, going at a faster pace, etc.) I'll be more than happy to break out the "if my fat behind can walk 25 minutes on the treadmill you can do 10" speech for you if you need it!
  12. I love to laugh, even if it's at myself. I almost feel guilty. I haven't had the horrible experience some people have had and I wish everyone could have the smooth sailing I've had since surgery.
  13. The first week I had to work up to swallowing 1oz at a time. You should be sipping sipping sipping almost all day long. It's a chore but you must get those fluids in. And if you're not peeing and/or your pee is dark, you aren't getting enough fluids. Hang in there, it gets better!
  14. Miso soup kept me sane during my preop two-week diet!
  15. Have your tried going with just Clear liquids to see if you can hold that down?
  16. Are you able to get your fluids in?
  17. You are a terrible, terrible person and I hate you!
  18. I was sleeved last Tuesday and felt good enough to go back to work the following Monday. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't enjoying these two weeks off!
  19. I LOVE hearing stories like this - thank you for posting it!
  20. I never got one! (I had one a few years ago, but unrelated to this. Best. Nap. Evah!)
  21. I had egg drop soup twice during my preop diet. I put in a scoop of powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury unflavored and blended it. It wasn't much "drop" after that but I needed something other than sweet. I did NOT have any 24 hours before surgery tho, Clear liquids only. You definitely want to call your surgeon to ask about this one - your experience may vary from mine.
  22. Congrats! Let us know how you're doing as soon as you are able.
