Hello All! I began my liquid diet today. I'll get sleeved 6/13. I really have a weird question but I'm gonna ask anyways. Could I have egg drop soup? It's something that I love and I'm just too embarrassed to call and ask.

I was JUST wondering the same exact thing!!! I go for my pre-op tomorrow so I'm going to ask. I just don't think I can take all the sweet shakes and stuff all the time. I have been looking for other alternatives too. I have my surgery on 6/24. Congrats to you!!

I was informed broth only. Nothing can be in the broth. Check with your NUT.

I could have tomato.soup and broth but no chunks of anything.

Pre op egg drop soup is OK because of the protein in the soup post op hard for your stomach to digest so most dietitians recommend you wait 6 weeks before you eat eggs

I called my nut today with this same question.. My taste buds prefer the salty than the sweet. I was told to stay away from the Soups because of the salt used in them. However, I suffer from hypertension. It may be different for you.

I had egg drop soup twice during my preop diet. I put in a scoop of powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury unflavored and blended it. It wasn't much "drop" after that but I needed something other than sweet. I did NOT have any 24 hours before surgery tho, Clear liquids only.

You definitely want to call your surgeon to ask about this one - your experience may vary from mine.
