tdguill reacted to Fiddleman in Calcium chews ?
I second the BA chews, especially caramel. They are yummy little treats 3 x a day (6 total). At 6 month, my Calcium levels were dead on mid range. I have 9 month checkup next week and will see if I need to keep taking. I am a total addict to them now though and am not sure I could give them up. Lol.

I am 9 days post-op, and have been living on Trader Joe's Lentil Soup (the kind in the BIG can), pureed! I eat a third of a cup for a meal. Low caloried and good protein! It is also super cheap and one can lasts almost a week for me!! My surgeon says there are two perfect foods: fish, and lentils. Since I am in the liquid/pureed stage still, I have made lentil soup a staple!

tdguill reacted to Fiddleman in A yummy and healthy chicken salad idea
Mix together salad bag mix, sliced beets, crumbled goat cheese, diced walnuts and garlic chicken. Very yummy and full of flavor, especially the beet and goat cheese combo.
You can buy the garlic chicken from costco in packs of 6 garlic chicken skewers. They naturally break apart into 3-4 chicken chucks per skewer, you can break them down further depending on desired size.

I hate the Protein Drinks so my nutritionist told me that I can have every night a small chicken breast(baked, boiled, rotisserie) & veggies only (no peas, carrots, corn) this help alot.

Today I am 4 1/2 month post op. The past month has been a struggle but I have finally reached two of my goals. I am at 75 lbs. lost and I broke the 200's and now I am in wonderland! I haven't been here since 10 th grade!
    My stats:
    Pre op : 270
    Today: 195
Current pic was taken at 203 but I didn't want to get dressed today to take another! We are expecting 6+ inches of snow today...blah.

I had my sleeve done on 3.18.13. The gas pains haven't been so bad for me. Yesterday was the first day since surgery that I really wanted to eat something. The Protein Drinks are getting harder to get down.

I like Syntax nectar Protein Powder. I like the fruity flavors that can be mixed in Water and taste more like a juice than a shake. Favorite is Fuzzy Navel.

Try and relax. I had my sleeve done on Monday and everything went fine. I had alot of pain but once I was given the pain medication, I was ok. I came home yesterday afternoon. THe pain is much better than when I was in the hospital. I havent had too much nausea. I almost have 35 grams of Protein in me and the day is still young. Just do what your doctor says to do and you should be fine.

tdguill got a reaction from Skinnyminded in Day 4 on Pre-Op Diet
I am on day #4 on my pre-op diet. My surgery is scheduled for March 18th. This week I am suppose to drink 2 shakes and have 3-4 oz of chicken, fish or turkey (without the skin and not fried) along with unlimited veggies that are on a list from my dr and 1 fruit a day that is on the list from the doctor. This is really tough for me. I do this until Monday and then it is suppose to be just 3 shakes a day and Water until my surgery. The past 2 nights I did add a piece of cheese. It is going to be tough enough to do this after surgery, but doing it before surgery is even harder. I understand they want to shrink my liver before surgery. What are some of the things that you are able to have pre-op? This surgery isnt an option for me. I have to do it. I know that I can't lose the weight and keep it off any other way.
I welcome any tips/advice to help me through this .
    Teresa
