  1. I think that you'll get a lot of good answers. My only caution from reading a LOT of posts here is that no two folks are the same. Please don't bank on any "expected" losses aside from the one sure fact -- follow your program and you will lose the weight, no matter how long it takes!
  2. I'm the Old guy at 63 with a BMI of 52. I will have surgery on 6-4 and I expect it to go well. I have lost considerable weight over the last 6 months, and I reckon the MD is used to operating on fat people (:-)) Remember, the prefast (liquids) shrink the liver, and the fist step in to "inflate" your abdominal cavity both to give the surgeon room to operate.
  3. Welcome, and know you are among friends, MANY of whom have had the band to sleeve conversion.
  4. It will get better after a few days. Keep focused and stay in control of your brain. You will definately notice how many food commercials are on TV!
  5. These folks are NOT your friends!?!?! :-( That said, it's important to follow the prep given you (and I am doing the prep diet now as well). It does get easy after the first few days. I do get "quiet", maybe not "mean", and I certainly notice how many commercials for food are on the TV!
  6. Listen, I'm following you. I WANT you to get on track. I NEED you to get back on track. Your NUT might be the help you need, but as a nurse you know that the sleeve ain't no silver bullet. It helps, but 90% is in the brain!!! Please succeed.
  7. We are all with you!
  8. "does not" rather than "not not"... sorry!
  9. WOW! This ain't no only! You've lost over 5 # a week! Walk around with a bag of sugar for a while as a hint! Your body not not consistantly lose weight, so just keep plugging, and all will be fine. (If you can, don't weigh every day... nothing like seeing a big drop later)... Good luck to you!
  10. I am sleever the next day. I am in the Optifast now, and feel OK, at least no headaches (hurrah). Might be something else???
  11. From all that I have read, it's still soft foods (soft and moist). But let's let the experts weigh in.
  12. You are both welcome. Explore, and feel free to ask questions. I use Unjury (google it, can only get on web, but they ship fast) for protein shakes...
  13. Globetrotter, we all know that there is much more to you than just a vagina. While I do not know you, your writing lets us know how smart and witty you are. Sorry that this is a tough time. Isolation far away sure must be hard.
  14. Welcome, explore and ask any questions you have!
  15. Congrats and good luck. The pre-op diet get's better after a few days in. What kind of job? If a lot of standing and especially lifing may need a bit more time.
  16. Sounds good!
  17. There's a whole bunch in a thread of its own!
  18. You will find many good folks here. Explore and enjoy!
  19. I'm a week ahead of you! Welcome!
  20. There will be some loose skin, bit it depends on lots of factors. The bigger you are, the older you are, the faster you loose... So... take one issue at a time.I can guarantee NO loose skin. All you need to do is keep your weight. But that's not such a hot trade-off... And WELCOME!!
