Wow, where do I even begin. I've never been the small girl, ever. When I was in elementary school, I grew very fast and was always taller than everyone else. In high school, I played sports year round, so I was the buff jock girl. When I got to college however, I stopped playing sports and that is when I became the plus size girl. I was still good looking and healthy. Year by year though, I gained more and more weight, and tried diet after diet and gym after gym. The more I gained the harder it was to get off. I married in 2008 at about 230 lbs. Luckily my husband loves me for me and never saw the fat. We had our daughter in 2012 and during the pregnancy I lost weight because I was on a low carb/ low sodium diet and I could only eat small meals. I had no room in my stomach because there was a baby taking up all of the space in there. My daughter was born a healthy weight and I was at my lowest weight in about two years, 270. Then I gained it all back and then some, in only 6-8 months. The heaviest I ever saw on my scale was 296, I cried, then panicked, then cried some more. That is when I began researching weight loss surgeries. I researched for months and went to about three different seminars until I found Puget Sound Bariatric Center in Edmonds, WA.

I just had my surgery a week ago, on June 3rd, and have now begun my journey to a healthier me. I will never go back, I will never lose control again, and I will always remember that it's not a do-over, it's a do-better.

Thanks for all of the replies.The headaches stopped after two days and I have much more energy. I've also dropped about 7 lbs! Just had to get over the initial withdrawals from caffeine and carbs. My surgery is in 8 days and I cannot wait!

Hello everyone. This is my first time posting on VST. I have my VSG surgery on June 3rd and I'm two days into my low carb pre op diet (30-40 carbs a day). I have been getting really bad head aches. No migraines, just head aches. Is it because of the diet? I drink a lot of water (72 oz/day) so is there something else I can do? Does it go away? Thanks for the advice in advance. Steph
