I play video games too if I'm super upset. Get a big jug of Water. Don't eat the fast food. Don't let it win. You will feel horrible and regret it. Try to take control of yourself. Support sent!!

If I mistakenly eat too much or too fast I get hiccups or chest pain. I try to measure everything so I don't eat more than I should. That wa I can keep track of things too. At first, you learn by trial and error..it's just hurts sometimes

I'm so glad it finally happened to you!. Right now I'm in the same boat you were in like a week ago. I don't feel restriction but since I'm still on liquids I know I haven't really had a real test yet. Doesn't help knowing that though, I still feel defective. I hope I join you In a few weeks!

So since being sleeved three weeks ago today, I have not felt restriction. I could drink fluids freely even in the hospital and can pretty much gulp Water now about half a cup at a time if I want.. When I added yogurts and cottage cheese, I'd measure a half cup and I could just eat the whole thing. On my first day of pureeds I ate a soft scrambled egg and 1/4 cup of refried Beans and yeah, it left me satisfied, but that's way more than most people say they eat at this stage. I started thinking there's something wrong with me!.
Today I graduated to soft meats and fish....
I ate a 1.5 ounce piece of hot bologna (it's a weird spicy canned meat) and as I was chewing the last bite, I actually spit it out because I felt FULL.
For dinner at had 2 ounces of salmon and again opted to spit out that last carefully chewed bite in order to avoid overstuffing myself. YAY! FINALLY after 21 days I feel like I finally know what it FEELS like to be SLEEVED.. and it feels AWESOME!

It is awesome to hear the results fellow sleevers sre getting, thanks for the update.
Unfortunately I am a ridiculouly apple shaped, and filling out a little from working out, so I have yet to really pass size 14 (I can pull a size 8 up past my butt), although I have lost over 100 lbs from my largest. It is really encouraging to see everyone experiencing such positive results.

Colemon70 reacted to aroundhky in When did surgery scars fade? If ever...
I stopped seeing my scars when my stomach/chest hair grew back. Being the fairer sex, I'm guessing you are at a disadvantage here. I've heard and read that Vitamin E helps. When looking closer, I really noticed that mine had pretty much faded by 1 year post op. I'm sure there are other factors such as age, skin tone, size of scars, etc. I wouldn't worry too much about it and recommend that you go forward with that two piece plan for the summer.

Yay super happy I'm now on full liquids and next week purée so it's passing good.
My surgeon said that he wouldn't think I has surgery last week. But I'm not sore at all and feeling pretty good and 7.5kg down so it's good.
    Just wanted to update

I think it depends on the individual. I am 4 weeks out tomorrow and mine are nearly healed. 2 still have small scabs but my big one is completely healed. I also have been told Protein promotes faster healing. I have been a champ at getting in my protein so hopefully that has helped.
Typically, they say 6 weeks most folks are completely healed.
    Hope that helps.

Oh yeah, I'm missing food. I dream about food almost every night. I'd sure love a slice of pizza, but I just keep telling myself this post op diet isn't forever I will be able to enjoy food again, but now instead of eating half a pizza ill be satisfied with a slice or less when are you cleared to start regular foods? I have one more week to go and I can start introducing soft foods

I am fantastic! I had no problems at all, I am back to normal minus the food. Still on full liquids, some days it's hard to drink as stomach spasms a bit but I wouldn't call it painful, just crampy. I am lifting my kids with no problems too. I am down 14 pounds and loving the fact I got my sleeve! I find it very difficult to get Protein in at this stage but in 2 weeks I will be eating protein so I am not overly concerned.

Colemon70 reacted to SweetSaso in Today, i kissed myself! :$
OK hold on, i know that you may find the topic title weird/odd, but i promise you am not a *****/freak.
but it is true, i kissed myself today, and i find this to be a NSV that is worth sharing.
First, before i go into the subject, let me tell you a little about myself.
    I HATE MYSELF!

    I HATE MYSELF!

    I HATE MYSELF!

    I HAVE ALWAYS HATED MYSELF!

DID I SAY, I HATE MYSELF?

IN CASE I FORGOT, I HATE MYSELF.

This has all changed today as i was washing the dishes. This past valentine, my husband has gave me a mirror as a gift, this mirror is heart shaped and my husband decided to glue it on the wall that i face when i am at the sink, when he glued it, he said and i quote: " this is for you to always remember how beautiful you have became and have always been". well, it was a sweet thing from him to gift and say BUT i have always ignored mirrors, because i have always seen a reflection of someone who i never thought i was, i acted different than what i see in the mirror, i act as if i am small but the mirror has always showed a big reflection which i hated!

Well to make this long story short. Today, as i was washing the dishes, i take take a look at the mirror and look back down BUT i looked back at myself right away because what i saw has pleased me!! I saw a beautiful 20 year old woman who is the exact reflection of my soul, i thought i looked beautiful, and i questioned myself: is this really me? I teared up and all of the sudden without paying attention to what i am doing, I kissed the mirror and stood up and smiled (but whats wrong with complimenting myself) UGH, i confess it felt weird but for the first time i love myself.

This made my day, and i sure could not leave it at that.

I walked swiftly to my husband in the living room and told him that he is a very lucky man to have me. HAHAHAHA he was weak. BUT i was very happy, and in a very good mood all of the sudden.

I am sure this has happened to someone else, kissing the mirror/liking what you see... it happens right?

I find it okay to compliment myself, because what i went through was not easy, what i gave away to be at this state of body was not easy, it is okay to like what i see even for a moment right?

Sorry for this long post, i thought i had to share, please give yourself credit, you deserve it.

I am sorry but anyone that thinks the surgery is the easy way out hasn't had it, or even done the research about it. Those of us who went the surgery way did so because we were brave enough to make a permenant change in our lives. I think WW is the safe way out because you can always quit and return to the way things were. Which is what most people end up doing. Good for you for making the decision to change your life for the better. Hopefully your friend will grow up and support your decision.

Here I am one Easter later and 100 pounds down. I am also off my diabetes and high blood pressure meds.
This week has been the first time since my VSG that I've struggled with my eating. I take this as an opportunity that life has its ups and downs, this is just a blip in the big scheme of things, reminder that food will be a challenge for me and I will continue to need to put a lot of focus towards my health and happiness. Nonetheless I am determined to continue my progress towards better health and long life! I am extremely thankful for the support on this journey so far. This board and my friends are a godsend!
My daughter and I are headed to China in December - her homeland tour - and I am determined to scale the Great Wall! I have a lot of training ahead on endurance to do it, but I will do it!

My babies are a year old now, but while pregnant with twins I only gained 25lbs. I was hungry nonstop! I seriously are every 2 hours, bit I think because I was carrying twins they were eating up everything which is why I barely gained. They say with every pregnancy you will gain 15 pound just from the baby an the Fluid. So I wouldn't worry about gaining weight during pregnancy. And btw, I lost all of my weight with in 3 weeks and actually lost an extra 10...though I gained that back in no time!!!
During pregnancy I started eating foods that I used to: chips, French fries, etc. basically carbs and anything bad. I guess from the lack of sleep with two babies I used food to help me deal with the stress. And my stomach totally got used to eating way more food and it never shrunk back down. I can't eat as much as I used to,but I can eat a 6 inch sub with no problem which is t good! I'm having a hard time liking the carbs being that I'm so hungry still all the time. So my suggestion is even if you are eating a lot, don't let the bad foods creep back in. Because now that I'm hungry all the time and I can eat a lot, it's harder to make good choices. Before when my stomach was small, I could make good food decisions be side I wasn't really that hungry. That is not the case now and it is horrible! I thought having the VSG I wouldn't have to really about food again, but now I feel like I'm on the same stupid diet roller coaster again!!!!
