ordering all kinds of samples, yeck! I order them on Amazon and I buy at Costco.

I decided the same thing:) its weird, I weigh the same all week then on day seven, I'm a few pounds less. So definitely gonna try only weighing in once a week.

Love the Victoria secrets bag in background:) You look really good. How much do you lose per week now?

I am 2 months post op, and I have the same thing going on. It's just that we can't eat like we used to. You will learn to listen to your stomach and towards the last bites it will say hey I'm full already. Don't feel like you have to finish something.
I get the worst feeling when I take one bite to many and when I eat to fast, which I have yet to perfect at a slower pace. I usually will take my walk after dinner to help it digest.

I am 8 weeks post op. I bought the Kirkland brand multi grain flat rounds . I toasted it and made chicken salad, put a tomato slice and two slices of avocado
It was the first sandwich I had since before surgery, ate 3/4 of it and it tasted damn good. No problems after:) I think the key is to toast it so its not doughy.

I have been hitting our local thrift stores, your right its not worth buying full priced clothes yet until were close to our goal. Hate to spend $50 bucks on a pair of jeans that are gonna be baggy in a month. plus the support group I go to has a clothes swap:)

It takes about a week, at least for me, before I felt like I could get a little more down. At this point just be sure you stay hydrated. That's the most important thing right after surgery. Try and drink a protein shake, I drink premier shakes from Costco. But you have to find one you like. Good luck and in a week or so you will be stronger and feeling much better:)

I have one protein shake five days a week. I eat eggs or yogurt for breakfast, tuna for lunch, and fish, chicken or ground turkey for dinner. And between I snack on baby bells or cheese sticks. It is hard to eat everything cause we fill up so quickly, and then you have to get all your water and liquids in. I hope it does get easier to eat somewhat of a regular meal, with veggies or a salad.

Wow! Don't ya feel great. Keep on truckin, you'll be needing a new wardrobe soon:)

I agree with everyone else. This is awful advice. My surgeon would laugh at this. I am always looking for something new to cook and try. This is how I feel like I am eating like a normal person. And there are lots of good recipes on the recipe forum.

My first experience last week was terrible. I thought they would have at least a Tuna melt on the menu, so I would take it off the bread, well they had nothing like that just big French dip sandwiches and burgers not even a grilled chicken sandwich. Everything was battered or deep fried. I ended up with a cup of homemade clam chowder, which I'm sure was a little heavy on the fat. But 4 bites and 4 saltines later I was stuffed:) Husband ate the rest.

I found that Iike things much more spicier than before. Also diet Snapples are to darn sweet, I have to cut them with water by half! Crystal light too. Used to make that a little sweeter than normal now I find myself cutting that also. I have also taken up salt which I didn't use much before, so I know I will have to be careful there. Other foods taste pretty much the same. Just glad I can eat almost regular foods now:) Still dying for fresh veggies and a good salad. That will be worth the wait.

Like everyone else said, its not easy those first few weeks. But it does get better.
I am 1 month out and I feel wonderful. You will to,just gotta get past that first hump of recovery:-) Good luck and congrats on your surgery.

I have been eating mostly different kinds of fish with lots of lemons! It's my fav. But it taste so good I too find myself eating to fast, then it feels like it sits on top of the stomach for an hour. Will we retrain ourselves to eventually slow down? I hope it becomes habit soon. I am on my fourth week and can pretty much eatdo
everything i have tried so far. I just need to slow it down.

It's true about 5 - 7 weeks out u can try new foods. I made a huge turkey chili
for SUPERBOWL and I had a 1/4 of that and thought I died and went to
heaven:) also have been making all kinds of baked fish in the toaster oven.
I have tried chicken to with no problem. I love chicken salad. So just try something different each day and stick with what works. The key is to eat slow and
chew real good. It won't be 5 months don't worry:)

Totally agree with Dalola's post. I'm only 8 days out and my habits
are turning a point. I am making dinner for family and I'm okay
with it. It gets much easier as time goes by, and it helped me to
have lots of classes and support groups before surgery.
Good luck
