Christmas Cookie Contest
Here is a famous New Mexico Christmas cookie... Cant have Christmas without them.. Very Very Fatty.. hehehe BISCOCHITOS 3/4 cups sugar 8 ounces vegetable shortening or lard 1 egg 1.5 teaspoons vanilla 1 teaspoon anise seed 3 cups flour 1.5 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt Cinnamon Sugar: 1/4 cup sugar 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. To make the cinnamon sugar, combine the ingredients in a small bowl and set aside. In a large mixing bowl, cream the sugar and shortening together. Add the eggs, vanilla, and anise seed, and continue beating until the mixture is creamy. In another bowl, sift the flour, baking powder, and salt together. Add the dry ingredients to the shortening mixture, a little at a time, and beat to mix well after each addition. Continue until all the flour has been incorporated and a stiff, smooth dough. Do not refrigerate as the dough needs to be warm to hold together. To roll out the Cookies, place a ball of dough about 3 or 4-inches in diameter on a lightly floured surface. Roll out using a very light stroke with a rolling pin. The dough should resemble pie pastry more than cookie dough. Using a sharp knife or cookie cutter, cut the dough into the desired shape. Dust with the cinnamon sugar and place on a lightly oiled baking pan. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, remove, and cool the cookies on a rack. Yield: 3 to 4 dozen, depending on the shape

Mashed sweet potato with splenda and cinnamon its like a holiday treat. I know this sounds werid but it tasted really good.. steamed broccli or cailflower and mashed up to a mashed potato texture with melted chesse or just butter.

So if you can stay away from buying them I would.. Make yourself a veggie snacking tray.. It makes you feel speical and you get to snack.

I also had one incision that had a black dot on it.. it was a big black dot, well big enough to cover half the incision.. Im not sure if it is the same thing.. but 7months out now it is starting to fade. You might want to call your Dr. and just ask. There are also a lot of nurses here that might be able to help, I would also I like to know what it is.

Slow Losers - Unite!
Thanks for your kind words Carrie. I have noticed some NSV's but I dont look at them as though I have accomplished anything and I need to start doing that.. Like I lost 27 inches total.. and I went down 2 sizes.. I have a neck again. I can hold my husbands hand with out cutting the circulation in my own hand. But I look in the mirror after I weigh myself and im disapointed. I guess I have all these NSV but when the scale dont move they dont mean as much.. you know what I mean?... Well Im here for all of your support to help me see that my NSVs mean something. Thank You!

New Bander With Soooo Many Questions
At first I thought I was messing up to.. We put such a high expectation that when we actually get there and do what the Dr. says it seems to easy.. Like you think it should be harder. Well we cant be that hard on ourselfs and as long as you are following your Dr.'s orders then you are doing fine... Just keep chewing slow and a whole buch.. take small bites. I have always been a grazer too.. and now when I look in the fridge or cabinet I just get a bottle of water and the helps... sometimes we mistake hunger for just being thursty.
-
It's been a long year
Of course you can come home... You are always welcomed here! We have missed you and the wonderful support you have given. We all have hard times and dont realize the Band IS a tool, its not going to do the work for us but help us to do the work ourselfs. When ever I feel down about my Band and even get mad at it (I have yelled at it a time or two) I know I can come here and get the support I need. Im really glad you are back. God Bless!
-
The band will go on...tomorrow! Bet your bottom dollar...
You are going to do great! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
