I Never loose 2lbs a week!!
I am a ww girl - I agree with you 100% You doc is right - and I have lost it pretty fast but I am very ridge about what I eat - I keep a food diary and I usually don't go over 1000 - 1100 calories a day and I exercise now 4 days a week - It use to be 5 in the beginning.. It's also about your motabolizm too - I guess mine isnt that screwed up so I am lucky Just keep plugging away and it will come off..

Can't stop eating!
Jason - LBT is the greatest IMHO - I have learned so much from reading others stories - this is why I am always saying only a fat person really understand what's in another fat persons head - a skinny person couldn't relate. This is a lifetime lifestyle change in your eating and thinking (I think that's the 1 miillionth time of saying that ) The band is a great tool to help you with the changes that need to be done - it gives you more control to be able to eat less - Just having major surgery is enough to get you thinking - You want this to end now and forever (being overweight) If you do the work - it will work for you.. Good Luck on your Journey 20 lbs in 4 weeks is great - Yes it's hard not to give into head hunger but even with proper restriction it's still hard - I still fight with myself on occaission not to buy that candy bar - or eat that piece of cake..

Can't stop eating!
Nursienicole Good to hear - Having proper restriction does help tons... I think we all need to bp or slime so that we know what it is :0) gotta have the experience once :0) XXBGone I am glad you are pulling up those boot straps  You have 97 lbs gone you can get the rest off - I understand being complacine and the eating at 14/12 size - oh great I am here where I wanted to be so now I can eat again - WRONG  eating again will make you fat again  That's why diet's don't work - you go off them and gain all your weight back.. One meal - one day at a time - You can do this - I love the passage...

I Never loose 2lbs a week!!
My starting bmi was 42 - I have lost 2 lbs in a week but not often - usually .5 - 1 - 1.5 - 2. - 2.5 - 3. - no rythme or reason - I don't work out as much as you - I would walk on treadmil 4-5 times a week Are you weighing and measuring your food??? Do you keep a food diary and you sure you aren't having a bite here or there - any liquid calories As I said you may need to eat more & or vary your calories or maybe cut a little exercise- I was gun-ho on exercise in the beginning - but was afarid of burning myself out (5 to 6 days a week)- so slowed down a bit. I still exercise 4 times a week and am still losing - but I quit making it so hard that I hated doing it. As to why some lose faster than others - is just like we weigh the same amount - but can wear diff sizes and look completely diff in our respective weights - Who knows.... you can't worry why I can do it and you can't you just gotta work on what you can control and that's you... Keep up the good work - It will come

I Never loose 2lbs a week!!
You are doing good 4 lbs - that's 1 lbs a week - 3 inches good You may try to vary your calories some - I will eat like 900 one day and 1100 the next - so on so forth.. You may need to increase your calories some too for all the exercise - I don't see any veggies or any carbs (healthy) - you do need these things in your diet too We all lose weight diff - some weeks I will lose .5 then next week 2.5 etc I know pple who won't lose for a week or 2 then drop 5 lbs. They say that banders should expect to lose 1 to 2 lbs a week - so you are on track with the 1 lbs a week - it didn't get there over night it's not going away over night - patiences

Hair Loss..
Yep - I wash mine everyday - fine hair - gel - hairspray - and I am at the gym 4 Monday thru Wed and again on Saturdays (my head sweats like a pig) - mine's colored - hair dryer and curling Iron - no hair loss and I do attribute to the fat issue..
-
Hair Loss..
My hair dresser says it's from the decrease of the fat in our diets - I had a gf who didn't have surgery just did medifast - got her protien but still lost tons of hair - she had cut out most fats. I have been lucky - no hair loss and I have decreased my fat intake but have not eliminated it all together (now healthy fats in moderation). Makes sense to me - no one ever talks about the fat issue.

Hey Phyl Have fun whale watching and hope no rain - Congrats on GD's  Our bands are funny things - I had a sandwich for lunch no problems yesterday (toast light bread) dinner my usual fish and was so full. After a pbing or stuck episode it takes away and desire to eat  Well, not much to report - today was my weigh in day - maintained at 153 (I think - scale would say 152.5 then 153 then 152.5 and then 153 4th time) so I must be just a tad off 152.5 - Happy with this. Well just cking in this morning = yep very quite yesterday - now you and Karri both gone - it's going to be even more quite Well as usual cbl.

Kari Ya - it was pretty cool - and yesterday at they gym the girl and guy who always work the counter remembered my # without me saying is and then they said you want to take a new picture... Since they see me so much they really haven't noticed the weight loss but they really looked at my 1st pic when I joined last July and they complemented me on my great weight loss. And I kick the butt of the 28 yr old girl who works out with me - so I am feeling like the king of the world right now

Ok where in the heck is everyone..... Got something cute to tell you all. My XDH stopped by the office today right before lunch - I had told him I needed my toilet fixed so we went to the house and he fixed it - I asked him if he wanted a sandwich - he said you got stuff to make a sandwich since you don't eat anymore - I said I eat - I made us turkey ham sandwiches on lite bread w/2% cheese Then we we got back to the office he told me I was too skinny - I said how in the hell is 153 too skinny - he said oh you weight that - you look like you weight 120 - I love my xdh today

10:30 a.m. and starving H E L P
No it doesn't :cursing: - for me I find that avoidance works best - I really try my hardest to avoid temptation - my doc does allow Snacks - healthy one only - I can't tell you to go against your doctors order - but you really gotta find what works best for you to make this all work. For me I save my snack calories from the morning and eat 2 at night - I am still within my calorie budget for the day - but nights are my hardest - so I bend things to work for me.. Good Luck - You can do this !!!!

10:30 a.m. and starving H E L P
Deb I'm 10.5 months out and I am hungry right now too - I had my breakfast (oatmeal) lunch is another 1:15 minute - the hunger isn't going to kill me (or you for that fact) - Add some crystal light to your water - you can make it another hour without eating. Have a small can of V8 that's veggies & liquids .. I do not find that the band takes away all of my hunger - it helps a tad - but I still get hungry between meals at times. But I just push thru it - it's doable...

new to this
Hi & Welcome to LBT Tonya What were people complaining about ?? I love my band - it is the perfect fit for me. I needed portion control - with this tool I have been able to lose 97 lbs in 10 monts. Some people go into WLS with the mindset that it will be the quick fix and they really don't have to do any work - That is so untrue. Any WLS is just a tool - you have to understand that you have to make lifetime lifesytle changes to your eating and you need to add exercise into your life. The band's cons for some - taking so long to get to sweet spot - well discuss w/your doc how he looks at fills - does he do them slowly or aggresively - I can tell you I was too tight once and that's all it will ever take - being too tight for me is worse that being too lose. I have gone to my local support group but I find that I perfer LBT as its open 24/7, I don't have to driven anywhere (cost of gas) and also I wasn't getting home until 8:45. You need to read/listen to both con's and pro so that you can make your own decision Good luck on your journey

Ruby I find that my band tightens after exercise (all that rolling around) also if I have pants that are a little snug in the waist - it seems to affect my band. 70 lbs - FANTASTIC :thumbup: - makes you think how did I get around before :cursing: Let us know how the trainer thing goes and how much $$ - I would like to know Good Morning Gang What's up.... Not much here - just at work - wishing I wasn't :Dancing_sad: Univentful evening - gym, dinner - tv - bed - same old stuff. Well gotta get in gear - I will CBL:biggrin:

No more weight loss
With a fill or without a fill you gotta make good healthy food choices - follow the banders rules - NO DRINKING WITH MEALS (som doc's say 1 hr before or after - mine it's 1/2 hr before or after). Once you all get proper restriction it will make the job easier - you may or may not have it on your first fill - it does help hunger some - but for me it doesn't take it away 100% - I will be full from dinner and still want to eat and I am at my sweet spot. So don't think just cuz you are filled that you are not going to want to eat - you are still going to want to (well for me) you just gotta do the mental work that goes along with the band. Exercise is key too - are any of you exercising yet?? I guess I must be abnormal - I haven't hit a plateau yet - it should be coming any day - but I really feel that my good eating habits and exercise have been key to my loss every week except one where I stayed even with the week before. Also - pick one day a week to weigh in - don't get on the scales everyday - i did for the 1st week - but after that - I weigh in just once a week - same day same time..

Ok Ruby - you said the word - excuses  - so now no more - do your ab work - I don't like it either - trainer has me do 3 sets of 15 on a slant board at the end of my workouts.. I can't say I have ever been sore - but i do do them... Your guy might not be as expensive - and since he is just starting again maybe he will be cheaper - If you can - do it for one month - it is a great motivater and you will learn the proper techinque ... Karri Have a safe trip - enjoy your time off - who are you haveing coffee with anyone I might know?? Have a great visit with your bro & dad. I understand about using your vacation to recup from surgery - I have 25 days pto each year - and don't know if I want to use 2 weeks doing nothing but recuping - We have a bid on one of the ranches and if it does sell I will have $$$ for PS - but afraid of the pain and becoming a ps junkie :wink2:

Ruby You still need to do Ab's - it's not going to hurt your port as you are healed and the more muscle you have the better the tt will be Congrats on becoming and exercise fiend :frown: Trainer cost for me was $60 a session for once a week or $50 a session for twice a week and now I have a training buddy so It will be $30 a session for twice a week. So right now $240 a month - which isn't cheap but cheaper than $400 I was paying and It's worth it to me - I am fortunate enought to have a little inheritance that pays for the extras so I will continue with him and my new found buddy for as long as I can. I love my trainer and the motivation that he provides - I have become a lot calmer since I have been going too him - don't ask me why - even with all the family drama I have had - I gotta say I have been pretty calm - I haven't been stressing like I use to... Denise - Yes - you still aren't giving us a date - we want to know when you are going and why didn't you go today??? Nichole - Great Picture - School proud of you - Way to go !!! Chim - Are you still working 2 jobs?? Ok gotta get to work - CBL

Karri You are so much better at explaining stuff than me - right on this is what I was trying to say in a hurried fashion... In fact tonight my trainer was telling this same thing to my new exercise partner you gotta eat to lose weight.. We are all really shocked to hear that - we think we can't eat - it's that we can't eat crap - good food not crap.. Ok it's 8:30 dinners done and I need to veg for a bit before bed So talk to you all tomorrow - sweet dreams xoxoxox janet

Linda Congrats on the size 12 - way to go Is the shower you are giving personal or house hold stuff - I would let her gf's give her the personal shower and you the household kind - Well that's unless you want to see all the emotion lotions and sexy stuff her gf are going to give her - as a mom - I don't think that my kids are having sex (got 3 grandkids - but my son will always be my baby tmi for me:lol:) Game - you can get books at the party store for that stuff (ideas for games)- it's been ages since I have been to a bridal shower maybe Jackie - Steph - Karri might have been to some lately... Well just got back from the gym - my sessions are now at 5:30 and I have another girl who I am working with so cuts my cost in half - good thing cuz my stupid pool heater came on all by itself and my gas bill was $229 - it's usually 35 - I just about died. The pool guy shut the gas off all together so it won't happen again - this happened once before... Plus summer coming and electric is going to be going up and the price of gas $4.11 on Saturday - $50 buck for 1/2 tank... I have a hemi it eats gas... Well it's 7 gotta feed the dogs and start my dinner - cbl
