  1. Good Morning Gang How is everyone this fine morning Well for me my little bear got out (hole in block wall where the overflow of water drains) and had to chase him for 15 minutes - this was at 5:45 a.m. :cool2: He got the bad dog talk - but he has always been a runner so I guess I should know that he doesn't pay attention for long anyway to my bad dog talks - Now my little angel - she is a good dog - tell her to stop and she stops rolls over and is totally submissive. Bear when to school - she didn't  Just like kids - you have one that listens and the other doesn't. So I got a little exercise this morning On my 1st bottle of water... CBL
  2. Thanks Trystelle - You aren't doing to shabby yourself  - 149 down 31 to go in less than 1 yr -
  3. Karri - I am so happy that you had a GREAT BIRTHDAY !!! Your last yr in your 20's  - But let me tell you something - 20's are still about growing up so look forward to your 30's - you have grown so much (welll really shrunk phyiscally but mentally you have grown).. Yes you better eat a little cake - I wish I would get sick on oil & sugar - I still love it and it does agree with me too.. Have a great evening !!!! Again - Happy Birthday!!!
  4. Omw Candice that was a good one lmao Ok where is everyone I know that Ruby got a life  Linda is always busy with her community work :smile2:and family - Karri out celebrating her last year in her 20's Well, I guess that only leaves Kari - Peaches - Me - Phyl and all you have dh's so it's just me and my doggies - gs has gone to the beach with his mom - he called and asked if he went in the ocean would a shark get him (they are in Newport Beach) - I told him he watches too much tv (and he doesn't really) but I told him it was safe in the water - he called a little while ago and said he and his little bro had a lot of fun - I told him that he just had forgotten but that he loves the water/ocean - (we use to go when he was younger) - he hadn'tbeen since our cruise in 05 I guess.. Ok gang - I know how this goes - you will all get on when I get off - my feelings are going to be hurt - just playing - I went to the gym did my 3 miles and sweated like a pig - it's hot here - my car said 119 but it was most likely 115.. Ok gotta go see what I can fix with my left over steak... I am hungry I will cbl - and fyi - I have done really well on my water today 50 oz so far...
  5. Congrats on your date Jeaninem - It was my surgery date too but you are posting in the 2007 thread not the 2008 7/17/08 will be my 1 yr anniversary..
  6. Ok I guess I can understand that since you will be packing for more than 3 or 4 days like the rest of us plus you have 2 to pack for not just one. I guess i better and ck to see what's the weather's like I will be packing lite - so I will have room to bring stuff home
  7. Ya when I read that this morning - I was thinking we have 3 weeks from this Friday - or Thursday really - I flight out Friday Morning get to St Paul around 1 or 2 - don't remember... I have ton's of clothes but not that many that I can pack now - espeically underwear
  8. I am glad neither took offense - I just wanted to make sure that you both knew that it wasn't directed at anyone - it's just when I see self paid vs insurance it's like the insurance pple don't take the surgery seriously. Heck for me that was the ah ha moment having surgery - it woke me up that no matter what you do it requires work and it's a total lifetime lifestyle change that all the other programs preach - but with our little tool it makes the job of losing weight just a little eaiser... Hugs...
  9. I was told he wanted you to quit 3 months before surgery - well my 1st visit was 5/31 and surgery on 7/17 - so no 3 month period in between consultation and actual surgery - I had lung test heart test - I did quit for 10 days put was smoking again right before surgery - heck asking me to give up food and cigs at the same time - cruel & unusual punishment.. I told the anesthesiologist that I had cheated and smoked the night before - they still operated on me - and again pple quit before surgery and go back after - The boards hate smokers more than the hate obesity - it's just another addiction that pple don't understand the alcoholic (obese) person thinks their habit is not as bad as a druggies (smoker) - reformed smoker can be the worst.. This is a load question - you need to ck with your doctor - not the board.. There are still a few smokers among us... We just don't advertize
  10. Ilse - take out the word Nanook and replace with Ilse - this wasn't direct and either one of you and I didn't say that you guys said it - I was just making a point - that on some threads that I had read (not directed at anyone here) that this seemed to be some pple's train of thought... That's it - as stated didn't mean to offend anyone here - I was just making a statement.... On the issue of some self payers attitudes.. and you lef of this part of the quote on what I said - Again no offense directed at you Nanook/Ilse - just talking on the point of self pay vs insurance in general..
  11. HAPPY BIRTHDAY :smile2:
  12. It could be gas - I will get it some times still 11 months out if I over eat - try a gas x strip... If that doesn't work call your doc...
  13. Linda - We all have our little temper tantrums :biggrin2: especially when we are tried and want to eat - eat - eat - Oh ya I miss it - I miss my comfort foods - I want brownies - I want to eat the whole thing - not one piece but what I don't miss is sleeping my weekends away - not having any energy - shopping in the BBW section only -
  14. Edel - I set my own goal - originally 170 - then moved it to 160 - now I am 150 - 145 will give me a normal bmi - I am striving for that # - but it's really up to you - At first I never thought 170 was attainable - then never thought 160 was - but I now know that it is ... IMHO - I would really strive for the healthy bmi - it's doable... but it's really up to you...
  15. Good Morning Gang - HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO ALL OF US - IT'S JULY 1 AND WE WERE ALL BANDED IN JULY As I was having my coffee this morning - I was thinking about us (omw 5 am and guess who I am thinking about - Lucky #7 Gang - You really are my family) Well this is another thing I learned this weekend - and it goes back to the earlier post about this being a life time battle.. We (our bodies) are loaded springs - if we go back to eating like we did it will only take a second for us to gain our weight back - I wish I could put it as good as the Dr did - but that's sorta what he said. We have pulled the spring down in losing the weight - but it won't take much to snap that spring back to where it was - so we always will have to be conscience of what we eat.. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Yes Candice you can print and share !!! Karri - Great Stats for a 1st time runner who 1 yr ago weighed 250 and was a total slug bug... Phyl - Yes you can have some wine too - We all will have a little drinkie poop to celebrate our Anniversary and meeting (well we will pretend that it's our first) Oh ya - whats up you all get on the computer late - I got off 8:46 and you all pop in Steph Meeting was great - not much to report though (plus I signed a nondisclosure form) they wanted our opinion on stuff - but that's about it. And I can tell you for personal experience that as we lose those sizes drop really fast - I know that it took forever to get from a 16 to 14 but getting from a 12 to a 10 goes really fast and so does 10 to 8 - as little as 5 lbs will change your size now - it's really funny I haven't lost a great deal in the last month but my 8's are baggy especially in the legs. Yes we will keep you accountable and kick your butt when needed but always with love and intentions of helping you be successful - just like you would do for us.. That's what us Lucky #7 are all about - Support Kari - Congrats on the Jeans - You are doing so good.. Phyl - Some had said flying tightens you - but when I got home on Sunday GS wanted Wennershistzal (sp) so we stopped - I was hungry no lunch - so I ordered a mustard dog - ate 3/4 of the bread and the whole hot dog - didn't have a problem - but last night had filet mignon from costco and got stuck - after the dog I though omw I could use a tad of a fill - but then last night steak & spinach and was done (no rice last night - after the candy this weekend I have to make little adjustments - see i practice what i preach ) Ok it's time for me to get in the shower - It's a short week for me - Yea... so I will ck back when I get to work.. Hugs everyone
  16. HAPPY 29TH BIRTHDAY [/url] KARRI HAVE A GREAT DAY AND REMEMBER TODAY IS THE ONE DAY OF THE YEAR WHERE CALORIES DON'T COUNT HUGS & KISSES JANET AKA BAND MOM
  17. Myturn - I want you to edit this post and replace the word hope with the words I WILL - I really mean this - positive affirmations - it's part of the key - if you keep telling yourself you are stupid then you will beleive it - if you keep telling yourself you are smart - what's going to happen I don't know why it's only negative self talk that we exchange with ourselves - it should always be posittive... You will write your story and you will help others - that's what this is all about - paying it forward... Hugs... Janet - Now go edit that post and rewrite your words
  18. Steph This was talked about this weekend too - fattening crap is cheap (this is why when we see so many over weight poor pple it's cuz you can get 10 top ramens for $1.00) Don't you always wonder why some one who is obese is in line at a soup kitchen - you think - well omw they are huge how can they be poor and not have enought to eat - it's what they are eating - which is purchased cuz it's cheap - - Light bulb went off in my head - cuz that's what I always thought when I would see a big person on tv in the soup kitchen line - like ya why are you there - you have $$$ for food - well not really it's crap they are buy and those foods are the bullets in that loaded gun Oh ya I wanted to tell you that I too can get stuck on watermellon and I love it - and yes - what we think today as eating bad - really isn't...
  19. Yep it's no diff that African Americans have prejudice in there race about lighter skinned vs darker skin - Mexicans the same way - or as something as simple as who has more $$ rich can think they are better than the poor Jachut - Well said !!! it's up to the individual - some choose to say Enough and others don't - I had the pleasure to listen Dr Richard Dixon speak this weekend - it was motivational and inspiring - you Aussie have a better health care system that us American's - Maybe we can take a page from your book Ok this whole selfpay vs insurance issue - just sorta bugs me - no offense to you Nanook - I have read this many times over on other threads "Well I am self pay so I am going to work harder" IMHO that's BS - we are all self pay when it came to WW - Jenny Craig or whatever program we went on etc - did we succeed NOPE. Ya selfpayers are going into debit for this but I don't think that's really going to make a diff - it's all about what you want the person- if like Jachut said about - if you are ready to just say Enough - just cuz I had insurance that covered it (but you also have to take into consideration even though you have insurance depending on your plan you can have considerable copays) do I take it for granted NOPE - I just don't think the statement Self Payer are going to work harder does mean to say that if you did have insurance to cover it you wouldn't work it the same way. Again no offense directed at you Nanook - just talking on the point of self pay vs insurance in general..
  20. Ok girls - I am back and I want to tell you both something - We have to say no for the rest of our lives... It's not about being fair - it's about living a healthy life. Oh my notes are at work - but Obesity is a disease. We are pre-disposed to have it - it's in us and the gun is load. It's just the way it is.. No we weren't the lucky ones who can eat every thing and not gain weight - they are few and far between - 64% of America (or the world i forget) is obese... You don't have to say No for the rest of your life - you just can't say yes on a daily basis... You can have treats - but it's all about the balance. We can't think of this as a diet - we really really have to think of this as a way of life. Remember Diets don't work - even this weekend the professionals said it negative words - like diet must be replaced with Healthy eating.. Exercise replaced with physical activity - to me it's all just a name and as the saying goes - a thing is still a thing no matter what name you give it. Our bodies were built for the caveman era - but now with cars, tv, food at our disposal 24/7 and portion sizes have quadrupled in the last 20 yrs - the whole transfat issues - refined carbs - sugar - our bodies weren't made to eat all this junk and not do any physical exercise I messed up on Friday night - the room was stocked with junk - just had snacks at the meet & greet & a glass of wine by the time I got back to my room (had to drop $20 in a machine ) I was tried and hungry - but it was too late to order food which was $$$ and had no way of reheating it later - so I got into the reese pb piece - Ok not good - tired & hungry all food triggers for me - well you know what - I did it - didn't feel too bad about it - cuz even eating healthy 98% of the time - I can allow for that 2% of junk - well I walked - meeting rooms on the other side of hotel - and i was in heels - ate a lite bf - lunch - dinner and on Saturday they restocked the candy - but I didn't touch it or the cookies.. Why cuz I knew I had indulged the night before and had ate 1/2 of the mini muffin size dessert at dinner - and this 100 lbs is gone and I don't want it back. If you go back saying yes more than you say no and you don't keep a balance - it's going to come back on... We have to fight this battle forever - don't think that when you get to goal it's over - no it's not about the scale moving down wards anymore it's about maintaining and to maintain you will have to say no more than yes ... Ok enough of me on my soap box --- what did Ruby call me the thread mommy or something like that So you all know this is said with love from the bottom of my heart.. Steph - Congrats on maintaining your weigh for 3 weeks when you were out of your element - That in it's self is a big accomplishment and all your exercise - Way to go girl... You will get back on track.. Linda - Nine pounds to go - You can do it you know you can - you will be there by the time of our trip - how can we motivate you to strive for it.. Lets see - what can I bribe you with - oh ya - remember we are getting you the Mother of the Groom dress.. so that you will shine on your Son's wedding day (I am right it's your son getting married ) and if that doesn't work - I will buy you your drink of choice for dinner when we all get together - (I know Karri - I shouldn't be bribing with food or drink but I know my GF likes her cocktails )
  21. Froggie I miss read the title of the thread - MY BAD - I edited my previous post.. go see it... I think we have predujuci within in our own fat socitey - The person who weighs 175 thinks they aren't as bad as the person who weights 250 and the 300 lbs chick think shes better than the one who weighs 400 It's each person perspective - ...
  22. My bad - I thought you were talking about pple who had either 200+ lbs to lose vs those who had 200- to lose - heck just got back from vegas tired - and by reading the last few post this has gotten quite heated discussion... I guess I need to slow down - yep I do know a girl who went to Mexico - has 30 lbs to lose - got the surgery and hasn't really lost cuz she drinks - no she didn't need it - but she had the $$$ and it's hers to waste anyway she wants. I don't care... It was smart of you to put this in the rant's and rave section cuz I find it sort of prejudicial - I know pple who have lost 250 lbs with the help of their tool the band - and no I didn't need to lose 200 lbs to get to a healthy weight - so do I take it that you think pple who have 175 - 150 - 125 - 100 or even 75 lbs don't deserve the band - I haven't read all 7 pages of this thread - but do find a little reverse prejudiced in title of this tread It is all relative imho - 100 lbs for me maybe your 200 lbs - who is anyone here to judge or decide anothers future based on a stupid # of pounds that need to be lost - if you weigh 500 lbs and lose 200 - you are still most likely morbidly obese by anyones standards - but you are doing better at 300 than 500. Each and everyone of us is different - and will decide what's best for us For me it's to get to a healthy weight for my age, height - stature etc - to be more active - to get off my blood pressure meds - cpap machine and being able to move - walk - live period to have a quality of life that I didn't have 100 lbs ago.. Fat is fat no matter if it's 100, 200 , 300 etc - who is to say who deserves the surgery and doesn't - Obesity Understand, Awareness & sensitivity training is needed and this rant - rave is a good example of why it's needed
  23. Ocbreeze4u Congratulations 7/17 is a good date - I was bonded 7/17/07 - today 100 lbs lighter :frown: Also, we are almost neighbors Prayers for a safe surgery & speed recovery....
  24. Hope - You can do it !!!! If I can - anyone can - cuz we are all a little diff but basically the same Hugs... Janet
  25. Thank You !!!! You all can do it too.!!!!
