  1. I'll take the saggy skin any day over the fat... I feel to frickin good to worry about it too much - I feel so much healthier and 10 yrs younger and heck that's why God invented Plastic Surgeons...
  2. Good Morning Gang Hope everyone is having a good day - I don't have any plans except going to restock the fridge since i didn't do any shopping last weekend and I am out of veggies and GS is starving saying there is nothing to eat.. I was up at 6:30 - went to they gym (I love going in the mornings when I have more energy) did 3.5 miles in 1 hr - didn't hold on and had incline up to 10. Trying to get off the 2 lbs I gained from last weekend. I discovered something new today - I was sweating like a pig from my work out - my tee shirt was soaked in around my neck - so came home and got in the pool to cool off - well guess what !!!! I can't float !!!! I sink !!! I use to bob like a whale - now I sink  Funny how something that silly can make you happy - muscle outweighs the fat and saggy skin..
  3. Steph I am going to kick your butt Shame on me !!! What you are you talking about... 3 miles in 50 minutes is fantastic !!!!! Like you said the idea of walking 5 blocks last year would have killed you. Now you are walking 3 miles in 50 minutes GREAT NSV - BE PROUD OF YOURSELF !!!!!
  4. Karri I am so glad to here that you are doing so well and REALLY happy that you have a great DH... I am not super shy so the going pee-pee in front of DH wouldn't bother me - My Xdh would but hot wash cloths on my hemroids (again tmi) but imho that's what you do for someone you love - to me that's a sign of love..
  5. I can't beleive you are on the computer  - You aren't you in pain?? The pain pump doesn't dope you up but puts meds in the incision site?? Your doc sounds fab - I would like a lady ps doc - better than a man - you going to take progress pics aren't you.. Are you eating?? Drinking ??? Take care and rest you just had major surgery... Ya next year you are going to have to watch out for those teenage boys - we don't want to read about you in the paper running off to Mexico to do the wild thing with some baby :tt1:
  6. OMW YOU ARE ON THE COMPUTER !!!!! CHILD ... Well I am glad you are doing so well...
  7. Ya I can't imagine the pain she is going to be in and the fact that she can't exercise and have to wear compresion garments - I think she can walk after a couple week... I am just glad she made it thru surgery -to bad she isn't at least staying overnight - but she said she is comming home with a pain pump so as long as the pain in controled. You liked the movie - I saw the previews - didn't think I would like it much - I ususally don't go for comdies - I am a drama - cop & robber - kid of girl - I do like some comdies but not many - Yep the first time I realized I crossed my legs was in the show... So much more room than before..
  8. Your fee isn't nearly as much as I had to pay - but mine includes fills & office visits for 5 yrs. You have to understand it's his way of re-couping some of his cost. If your doc office is like mine they did all the paper work - set up all my pre op appointments - provided nutritionist - pre food - the works - and insurance doesn't pay very much - they bill the insurance $200 and insurance only pays them $75 - that $75 covers the doc time his nurses salaries - his cost of doing busines etc that's not much $$$ now a day. I will tell you that $300 is worth it to get your band But I am sorry they didn't inform you sooner..
  9. Salsa's DH just texted me She is out of surgery and doing great

  14. Thanks Candice !! How are you doing today??? I understand your pain- I wish I could do more than just give you a hug..
  15. Renea I am lucky to have non-sucky insurance - but regardless if insurance paid or I paid - would do it again in a heart beat - it's only a tool it doesn't make your food choices or exercise for you - but it makes a hard job just a little easier.. Wising you the best..
  16. Well I did it - surgery 7/17/07 - and lost 100 lbs in 11 months 1 week. Love Dr. Bobbie - he and his team are the greatest.... Here's the was and now... Loving life !!! Feel 10 yrs younger. Thanks you Dr. Bobbie for being such a great doctor and being here for us obese people who need the tool to get their lives back...

  18. A FABULOUS NSV TO REPORT I JUST REALIZED AT THE GYM TO NIGHT IT'S MY 1 YEAR GYM ANNIVERSARY - I HAVE BEEN GOING TO THE GYM FOR 1 YEAR NOW [/url] THAT'S PRETTY FABULOUS COMING FORMER SLUG BUG COUCH POTATO PROUD OF MY SELF I HAVE NEVER EVER IN MY LIFE EXERCISED FOR 1 SOLID YEAR
  19. Candice - Hugs I know how hard this is....
  20. Kathy - I really think it's the fat issue - I asked my doc and he said they don't know why protein - antheistha (sp) or trauma from surgery - but I had a gf doing just medifast and she lost ton's of hair - she wasn't getting much fat at all - so due to the fact that she was getting all her protein - no surgery - it makes sense that it's the fat issue - Since I am most likely related to Paula Dean (butter) Emril (pork fat rules) I do still get fats in my healthy eating but it's 1/16th of what it use to be and I have thin hair to begin with and I haven't lost any...
  21. LindalouRN Darling I gotta tell you something - If you aren't compliant with your band it is not going to work. First you are not suppose to drink with your meals. Secondly - your band does not make your food choices you do - they banded your tummy not your brain. The band and healthy eating and physical activity are the things that need to be done in order for you to lose the weight Yes you may lose some just by restriction alone - even with proper restriction you can still consume a lot of calories and even large amounts of slider foods such as cheetos - chips - candy - ice cream you are banded and still absorb all the calories that you eat. This is not a diet - this is a lifetime lifestyle change in you eating and physical activity level. I am at my sweet spot - I still get hungry between meals - for me my band doesn't take away all my hunger - and even when I am full - I still want to eat - but I have learned that being a little hungry isn't going to kill me - and that I want to eat when I am bored - so I go find something to do. I wish you the best but if you are just relying on restriction to make you lose the weight - I think you are going to be in for a disappointment, Please reconsider your eating habits - if you are hungry grab a low fat string cheese - a small apple (peeled) - Make sure you eat hard Proteins first then veggies and if any room left your carbs/starches. No drinking before or after a meal as however long your doc suggested. If you work with your band - it's going to work for you - but you gotta keep up your end of the deal and choose to eat healthy...
  22. It also can be the lack of fat in your diet - I know pple who say they get all their protein and still lost their hair - Don't cut all fat out of your diet make sure you include some healthy fats.
  23. Steph Cute Kids and love your new picture - Brandy - you sound like you are doing great !!! Karri - Prayers for a safe surgery & speedy recovery - you will be in our prayers & hearts. Xoxoxo Janet
