  1. Here is a link to the best info I've seen about stalls: http://www.dsfacts.com/weight-loss-stall-or-plateau.html
  2. Merry Christmas! Wishing you a speedy recovery and much success!
  3. Happy birthday! I really like my immersion blender--easier cleanup than a full blender.
  4. I am very sorry for your loss. I lost my father 13 years ago and we were very close. I cannot say that the pain goes away, but it does lessen and become easier to cope over time. Through diet and exercise, I was at my healthiest adult weight at his funeral, but emotional eating afterwards undid all of that. I lost my dad due to his morbid obesity and I have promised myself that I do not want to go down the same path and he wouldn't want it for me either. I sincerely hope that you can find the strength through your pain to continue to make healthy food choices and get back to your exercise regimen, so that you can achieve what you set out to achieve when you were sleeved 9 weeks ago. Best of luck to you.
  5. Congrats! Wishing you continued success!
  6. I still have 3-1/2 weeks to go, but I just want to wish you the best of luck!
  7. Congrats! Wishing you continued success!
  8. In order to have the body weight ticker show BMI, edit your ticker then click on 4. Properties. The box at the top, "Show Header Data" must be ticked. After you save this, your BMI should show.
  9. My surgery is 2 days after yours. I went shopping for my pre-op diet yesterday and I bought protein shakes, no sugar added clear juices, and broths mostly. I also bought some things for after surgery like liquid Tylenol, Gas-X strips, Powerade Zero, and Listerine breath strips (for ketosis breath), but I didn't want to stock up on too many food and drinks for after surgery just in case I can't tolerate them once my taste buds change.
  10. Best of luck! My date is Jan. 17 and I'm super excited, ready for this very important life change. Here's to our new selves!
  11. There are other threads with lists of wishes and dreams and I listed those long before I listed my fears. Surgery is just a little over 3 weeks away for me and these are my fears, but none of them are going to stop me from making this very important life change.
  12. Things I’m worried about (in no particular order): · complications or leaks · becoming insane with mood swings · bad acne (ah, hormones) · not being able to get enough liquids in to the point of dehydration · sliming · sex drive not improving (it is currently low because I feel so awful about myself) · hair loss · not being able to find foods that I enjoy due to changed taste buds
  13. Congrats! Wishing you a speedy recovery and much success!
  14. Glad to hear you are doing well! Wishing you a speedy recovery and much success!
  15. You can do it! I will be starting the liquid diet in less than 2 weeks and I'm a little nervous about it, but keeping my eyes on the prize :-)
  16. My surgery is Jan. 17 and I'm excited and impatient. Four weeks to go and it cannot get here fast enough! Good luck to all of my fellow Jan. sleevers!
  17. I'm having surgery in MX 4 weeks from today. I, too, have been having vivid, crazy dreams, but so far, no one is naked
  18. I'm still pre-op, but I set my weight goal for a healthy BMI because, to me, it doesn't make sense to do this and still be overweight or obese. I have seen so many people on here accomplish such great weight loss and I am definitely dedicated to doing the necessary work to get there, so I don't think that having a goal weight will make losing any more difficult, just more rewarding.
  19. Congrats! I'm having surgery with Dr. Ortiz on Jan.17, so I'm really lookig forward to hearing about your experience, when you're up to it.
  20. You might try using the website instead: myfitnesspal.com
  21. Congrats! Thanks for sharing your story and pics--very inspirational.
  22. I'm not sure what you're mixing your protein powder with, but are you including that liquid in your 64 oz? It is my understanding that we should aim for 64 oz of liquid and protein drinks count. It is also my understanding that it is hard to reach the 64 oz in the first few days after surgery, but it gets easier as the swelling in your sleeve goes down.
  23. It is a dream...come true! I wish you a speedy recovery and much success! I look forward to reading about your fantastic progress along the way (and will join in soon--save a spot on the losers' bench for me!).
  24. Don't be discouraged! By my count, this still means that you have lost 33 pounds in 3 weeks--that is amazing! You should not go back on liquids, as that might send your body into starvation mode and make your weight loss slow down even more. If you have not read this info about stalls yet, you absolutely should; it explains a lot: http://www.dsfacts.com/weight-loss-stall-or-plateau.html PS. I am still pre-op, but I have been reading and researching this site pretty obsessively for over a month and sharing some of the advice that I have seen repeatedly from the veterans.
