Maybe the pressure of the jeans caused a pinch of a hernia, I'd check for lumps and go see your Dr.

Traci J. got a reaction from Goodnurseg in Should i be able to eat this?
I'm 2 weeks out and can only eat 1/4c. of anything. I just saw my nutritionist on monday who said by 3 months out you should be able to eat 1/2c., and by a year out you should be at 1c....and then that's the limit. Maybe you should measure and stick with that....don't want to stretch it out too soon.

I am 12 days out and have not been hungry since the surgery; I'm merely eating/drinking to survive. As far as head hunger, that is up to you. I haven't had any problems with it; I watched everyone scarf on xmas day and I've gone to a restaurant with family and ate my 1/4c. of Soup while they got so full they felt sick. I'm loving my sleeve, and I'm down 15 lbs. and have lost 7" already.

Hi all. Just wanted to say I'm loving my sleeve. I'm only 12 days out but have lost 14 lbs. and 7" total already! I'm so excited and know I will reach goal. I also bought me a recumbent stationary bike and tube bands to workout my arms while pedaling so I can work out at home when the weather doesn't want to cooperate....which seems to be quite often here lately.
    Here's to a great 2013!!

Your body is probably playing catch up. Check your measurements, when you're not losing weight your body is probably losing inches.

But you are doing it on your own, the sleeve is only a tool and you can gain weight back later if you're not careful. And who cares what they think or say anyway? You did this for you and for your own reasons, and if they can be supportive, then screw em. You shouldn't be ashamed or embarrassed about doing something to help you live a better life. Keep your head up and flaunt it when you got it

Try dropping your calories to 500 a couple times a week; it should shock your system back into burning fat. Your body will get used to what you are doing and needs a wake-up. Good luck!

I was sleeved on the 19th as well and left on full liquids. If Jello is easy on your tummy, eat it up...it melts like a liquid and would count as it as well. Good luck!

Hi rainbows, congrats on your sleeve. You can take gas-x, and try rolling your shoulders back and forth if the pain is in your chest/back/arms, and rub your belly gently in circles, it helps move the gas around to get it out.

Traci J. got a reaction from HoosierGirl in Pre-surgery jitters. Less than 48 hours!
Hi Christie, welcome. The only thing I'd take to the hospital is a robe, socks and gas-x. As far as limitations, you may want someone with you the first day or 2 just because it can be hard to sit/stand due to the incisions, I was told no lifting over 5 lbs. and limited bending/twisting for 3 weeks post-op. So if I drop something or whatever, I'd do a squat and work my legs As far as tips, if you have gas pain in your shoulders, back roll your shoulders back and forth and squeeze them together, it really helped relieve it alot. I also rubbed my stomach in circles, lightly, just to help move the gas around. I honestly didn't have any pain after surgery and didn't require any pain meds at all, the worst part for me was the dry mouth. I asked for a cup of ice Water w/ an empty cup so I could swish it around my mouth and spit it out and promised I wouldn't swallow any of it, and they let me, which was awesome. Other than that's, it's been a breeze. Just trying to get all my Protein and liquids in. I'm one week out today and am down 10 lbs. Good luck!!

Traci J. got a reaction from Lisa'slosinit in What are the" foamies "?
Everyone has their own tell when they are getting full. Some people sneeze, some burp (me) and others get pain in their sternum. Just watch for your sign, something you notice and then you'll know when to stop.

I haven't heard anyone regretting it. They may the first few weeks if they've had issues or when they're going through the different food stages, but once that's over it's all good. It's not easy, but it's worth it in the end. Just have to stay focused on the final outcome.
