  5. Tigerbelle, Doc said I could quit but my blood sugar levels still go pretty high. I have always had an issue with my daily tests being way higher than what my A1C says. Just don't want to feel bad when the glucose is too high. I am cutting back on the meds at what feels comfortable to me. I also have alot of stress right now (ill husband and my dad just had a stroke) which contributes to the high readings and I can't control that. . I will get there, no doubt! New G...yes, stay in touch! We GOT this...

  7. My surgery was 9/6/12. Down 77 so far and loving my sleeve. No real issues but still on some meds for diabetes (even tho doc says I can stop my a1c was 5.0!) More energy and today I got up off the floor without touching anything! NSV! I hope we both continue to do well. I plan to be at goal by one year surgiversary! God bless, liz

  9. My pre op was 10 days, I did not cheat BUT I lost 20 lbs...which made it all worthwhile! Good luck. I think I would probably tell my surgeon just for health's sake, have you ever been told you have a fatty liver?

  26. I think I finally figured it out. These pics are down about 65 but now hitting 70! Its been 5 months and I FEEL GREAT! Wish I would have done this years ago. libbylou
  27. You look great! Thanks for sharing!
  28. Wish I had done it 30 years ago! Aligning what my head wants to eat with what my stomach holds has been the hardest part. 4 months out, 62 lbs gone! Its not a magic fix, but the quick weight loss is an incentive to continue and the restriction keeps you in check. I had no significant problems with or after surgery.
  29. thanks so much for letting us know how it is... need to see you are making it!
  30. Good job, you give me hope!
  31. Scheduled for Sept 6th! Tentative because my husband is a cancer patient...I have to be strong to help him with whatever comes from his recent tests. Starting the liquid diet on Monday anyways, just to make sure I can have the surgery if all works out!
  32. Sometimes people don't know what to say. It is better than 'you've got such a pretty face', isn't it? I hate that. Soon I will be asking, do you know any good places to donate all these clothes that are too big now? Do it for yourself and tell yourself how hard you have worked. YOU know you look great and they do, too. Even if they don't say it!
  33. I am sorry for your struggle. The answer is that being able to conceive and give birth is no guarantee of parenting skills...and neither is the inability to do the same an indication of being a poor parent. Every child deserves the best, sadly some don't get it.
