  1. If someone were just learning about mathematics, they'd want to discuss subtraction and multiplication.
  2. The topic isn't mathmatics.....
  3. Amy, you can post about whatever you like. You don't need to do a search or follow anyone's criteria. There are new people on this forum joining daily. I think those who are so bored or annoyed with the topics need to LOG OFF! Whining about whining is just as annoying. I personally like to come on the gastric sleeve forum to talk about the gastric sleeve and all it entails. I'm not sure what people expect. If each topic were only talked about once....well....I think we'd all be done here.
  4. I also think, as annoying as these posts may be, it isn't my place to regulate what people ask. If it's a topic I have seen numerous times, I don't open it. People are allowed to have their own conversations. Live and let live!
  5. I'm eating at work and I just noticed my containers have a 1 oz and a 3 oz mark on them! Cool!
  6. Get a butter lettuce leaf (the kind that's sold on the root) and roll up 2 slices of turkey, black olives, and feta cheese with some mustard in it. Easy and delish!
  7. You look amazing, Misty!
  8. I totally understand! One of my clients was very judgemental so I stopped telling everyone haha.I don't want to have to explain myself to every nay sayer.
  9. *gman* I weigh myself every morning too. Sometimes I scream at the scale but overall, I don't let it ruin my day.
  10. Lol gmat, I love your responses!
  11. I use small containers at work and small plates, bowls, and silverware at home. Everyone at work knows about the surgery and I'm not the only one who has had it.
  12. Haha! I love the "I've lost only 50 pounds in two months, I've failed this surgery! " posts.
  13. No way can I cut out carbs! I won't be successful and I don't want to live my life in diet mode. I'm not middle eastern but I love the food and even shop at a middle eastern grocery store. Pita is an everyday thing for me. Now I can only eat 1/4 of one! I too have lost 40 pounds!
  14. For sure! When I was going to school to be a hairstylist, I also worked at Chickfila. I was always running around. That with dieting helped me lose 60 pounds! A few years later, I tried the same diet but wasn't working at Chickfila anymore and I only lost a few pounds. Being a hairstylist, I'm on my feet all day but standing in one spot.
  15. I learned in my nutrition class that fat cells shrink when you lose weight they don't go away. Fat cells don't like to be starved so when you lose weight, a hormone in the fat cells (could be leptin, I forgot) sends signals to the brain to eat more! Your appetite increases. This is why its especially hard for those who have been overweight as a child into adulthood to lose the weight and keep it off. Its scary! Good article. Thanks!
  16. At two months out, I'm already up to 1000 calories a day. I make smart choices and only eat nutrient rich foods. The sleeve doesn't give me room for empty calories. It prevents you from over eating. Soon I hope to get to 1200 calories which is normal for a woman trying to lose weight. Without the sleeve, I could eat 1200 calories a day for a while and then crazy binge on empty calories. I can't do that now. Which is healthier?
  17. I've lost 40 pounds and went down one size. I have a big butt so my jean size is bigger than most my weight. You may be losing in other places.
  18. Yes! Over and over! I regret wasting so much time deciding on whether or not to do the surgery!
  19. Oh I didn't realize this was in the cosmetic surgery forum. Disregard my comment lol!
  20. I stayed in a hotel and the nurses were there 24 hrs. They only came in to give antibiotics and change dressings. Who is doing your surgery? I don't think hiring a nurse would be necessary.
  21. You don't feel full or pain? I tried to eat cream of wheat this morning and could only eat 1/4 of a package. Make sure you aren't ignoring the full feeling. I would talk to your doc because honestly these meals sound like a meal someone who hasn't been sleeved eats. Don't freak out, you may just need to go back to basics.
  22. I know its discouraging but I just want to say, you look great!
  23. You look amazing! I can't wait to be where you are! I'm so sorry about the lack of support from your family. That's really hard. But, I am thrilled for your success!
