I dunno,.. this is one of the nicest Care Bear-Rainbow Brite sweetness forums I've ever been on. But then, being a MAN and a dullard as well I don't know there's a problem until the fry pan bounces off my head.

I've noticed it in the last few months. It reminds me of the pregnancy boards I read while pregnant--seems hormonal. I backed off of the VST for a few weeks, but when I recently came back, it seemed better. I know what you mean though.

Alley-gator, what about all the positive feedback though? I know Aussie lady rubbed you wrong but I do hope you're taking in all the good encouraging replies too!!
(Hug) I learned about this procedure from a friend hat had just gotten it done 8 mos earlier. She told me that he first month is SO hard, because you have to learn to deal with life in other ways than eating. Then after that its just a way of life.
I hope that you start losing faster and see the light at the end of the tunnel. I second the suggestion for therapy. Couldn't hurt to get help.

I'm 21 and I just had surgery on 12/17. I'm ready to have the body I knew I should have had all my life. I've been fat since I was 5 years old!
I wish you best of luck on this journey! There's also a group for sleevers in your 20s, but sometimes it's not very active.

You are justly frustrated. It is too bad the Bariatric team did not let you know that before. But in the grand scheme just think of this as a slight delay. In the end it will be all worth it. Keep the faith. You are worth the effort.

It's been six months since my sleeve surgery (6-12-12). It's been up and down, but mostly up. I'm incredibly pleased with my 75 lb. weight loss. Yes, 75 lbs! I feel like a completely different person. I have 25 more pounds to my goal of 100 lbs. lost. I not only used the surgery as a tool to eat a considerably less amount of food, but I hired a personal trainer to help me tone and ward off the potential weight gain from old habits that don't seem to go away. Yes, it is almost impossible for me to consume amounts of food like I used to, but its the wrong kinds of foods you must be aware of! If there is anyone on the fence about this surgery, you have every rig to be scared or to wonder if this is right for you. It isn't right for everyone. You can really hurt yourself if you don't listen to your body! It took me awhile to realize the pain in my chest, that was my body telling me I'm full and I need to put down the fork, NOW! At times I would get sick, and you learn. I stay away from most breads and rices because they just aren't worth it to me, and they are carbs, so it is a win/win! I get the occasional criticism, "oh, you cheated," or "it was the easy way out." Look, you go lay in that hospital bed after I woke up from having major surgery, and we'll discuss what was the easy way. It hurts. It's hard. It's also expensive. But it's worth it. I would be 27 with diabetes and high blood pressure, hitting the scale at around 250-260. I think I did what was best for me. Thank you for listening. And to whoever set up this site, thank you. Before and after my surgery, I checked this app daily. It was extremely useful!

I was denied by cigna first time around, but approved last week! My thoughts and prayers are with all of you that are still in the "waiting" stage. I know how consuming (and stressful) this stage is. Hang in there, and keep us posted!

Crab with a little fat free mayo or yogurt was a staple when I was in pureed stage (check the nutritional content on any packaged foods). I used my emersion blender to really make sure it was chopped enough. When I moved on to soft foods I made a "crab cake" with crab meat, an egg, some onion & seasoning, sprayed some pam on the pan and browned it slightly. It was delicious You can make a little dip out of plain greek yogurt and old bay

Well I've left voicemails for the consumer affairs person I talked to at UHC and the new representative past 2 business days with no response. I'm sure my file now reads - crazy b***h keeps calling. Don't call back lol!!!
But I now have finished my appeal letter. 14 pages long plus tons of references. It's an entire package I have to mail off tomorrow - certified that is. I found out that the insurance has violated both ERISA and the Protection and Affordable Care Act, so I kindly put each code and section in my letter as well
My employer is now siding with the insurance company (although it is self-insured) and says that they are adding language to my SPD for clarity. Wait wait wait. According to both aforementioned acts PLUS several court proceedings, if I can prove I relied on my SPD to base my eligibility on then that should be final say AND the employer can only change language with a 60 day heads up to employees. Sneaky bastards.
Here we go again. Under ERISA I should hear a reply within 15 calendar days! NOT business. I'll once again call every other day to check status. Now I need to lose my 10 lbs so when they approve me I can have this darn surgery already.

I will talk to you now as if you were my daughter:
You are wonderful and a treasure. It is a priviledge just to be around you. If the man doesn't treat you with respect and kindness he disqualifies himself, he is unworthy. Deal with him as you have to for the sake of your child but give him no access to your emotional well being. Love yourself, darling, be good to yourself and expect others to do the same, you deserve it.

Wow, I wonder why I become less & less interested in coming to the forum. I think I'm going to start a forum of my own. I'm going to call it "Man Bashers". I'm sure I'll be so overwhelmed with members I'll be able to charge a membership fee, and sell advertisement at the same time.
