Okay I called the insurance company BCBS il and at that time i was told that I was Denied. Bummer! They said that my company excluded WLS. After telling me for several months that they cover it.

Wait. I called them several times afterwards to find out why. And i also called my Hr lady too. I asked BCBS for a copy of the policy that said my company excluded WLS.

Finally after getting the run around they said I'm approved!

I'm so excited! But waiting on a written letter of Approval.

I called my program coordinator said that she submitted it on 12/27 and they first denied it 1/2/12. So, I decided to call BcBs to see if they just received the case and I was dismayed that they already denied me! My coordinator already said to call her Friday. But I knew from helpful people here to also check and I did.

So, i spent 3 hours trying to make sense of the denial. Call my Hr lady, calling my coordinator back.

Even no one would return my calls from the program Imagine how i felt?

I was upset to say the least. I've already spent tons of money endured tons of stuff but in the end I did Get Approved!

It was a long 3 hour battle. They said my company excluded the WLS after telling me they covered it for the past several months and that I wasn't Obese enough. Lol

My BMI is 42.8!!!

Not giving up. I must have made 10 calls.

And soo disappointed that no one from my program even called me back!

I meant that my coordinator only answered my 1st call to tell me when she submitted it that all the conversation I had with her.

I'm a private person too. So imagine having to talk to my Hr lady about the WLS before I needed to. This process made me pull up my Bra straps lol and be strong!

Congrats, I'm happy for you!!! I can't wait to do the approval dance myself. I will beginning my WLS journey for the 2nd time on Thursday I will meet with the surgeon. Good luck

It took my blue cross federal about two weeks but I did have Christmas and New Years during that time so good luck praying for you to be approved, I'm being sleeved on jan 28
