It also depends for me- Water or watery things go down fine, no discomfort, but the shakes, the cream Soups, and the greek yogurt sometimes I have that stuffed feeling after about 4-6 ounces. I was also worryng about "stretching it out" because I wasn't feeling much discomfort with liquids. That discomfort will come with our "real food" I think....

You will not stretch your sleeve. It's almost impossible!!! Please do not worry about that and especially when you are just fitting in fluids. The more fluids the better....your doing fine.

We went to The Hobbit over the holidays. I had to get up in the middle to go to the bathroom and saw this chick sitting next to the friend of my granddaughter, Emily, who was visiting us. This intruder was sexy looking with high-heels, black leather jacket, tight pants, and I wondered why she was sitting right next to Emily when there was so much room elsewhere in the near empty theater. I was about to get mean when I realized.... it was my wife. I walked away with my red face.
We went to an unbelieveably crowded outlet center in Orlando yesterday. A number of times I lost her and had a hard time picking her out of the crowd.
She has lost over 100 pounds in a year, looks and feels good, and my brain hasn't caught up with her rapid descent.
I am so proud of her, she made this happen.

No youre doing great. My loss was slow and steady, never any huge amounts but every lb adds up.
It's hard but have faith. I was discouraged early on as well but trust me your doing good. A lot of people have Water retention and lose lots of water weight and lbs at first. Not everyone is the same in losing but we all do and if you are following your plan your going to as well!!!

Re-fried Beans are a Mexican staple eaten instead of say potatoes or rice and are a favorite here in the states eaten mostly with Mexican food. They are made using pinto beans, onion , garlic, cumin and salt and pepper. ( mostly we just buy a can of them here and add cheese on top and micowave) They are very tasty and its a all around American favorite! Debbie

I discovered some of these in my freezer earlier in the week, reminding myself these make a great Breakfast. Before VSG I used the recipe below and was then putting them in the larger six cup muffin tin (I've often used that instead of doing it in a pie plate when having people over for brunch). Since that size is too big for my breakfast now, I'm going to try the 24 mini muffin tin and have 2 for breakfast.
    Crustless Spinach Quiche
Prep Time: 20 mins | Cook Time: 30 mins | Servings: 12 | Difficulty: Easy
    1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
    1 teaspoon Minced Garlic
1 cup Chopped Onion (about 1 Medium Onion)
1 package (10 Oz) Frozen Chopped Spinach, Thawed And Drained
    5 whole Large eggs, Beaten
2-½ cups Shredded Muenster cheese (or Whatever You Have On Hand - I Find That The Sharper The Cheese, The Better!)
¼ cups Grated Parmesan Cheese (plus 2 Tbsp. For Garnish - Optional)
    ¼ teaspoons Salt
¼ teaspoons Freshly Ground Black Pepper
    1 pinch Crushed Red Pepper
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9 inch pie pan (or appropriate muffin tin).
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add garlic and onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until onions are soft. Stir in spinach and continue cooking until excess moisture has evaporated.
In a large bowl, combine eggs, cheeses, salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper. Add in spinach mixture and stir to blend. Pour into prepared pie pan.
Bake in preheated oven until eggs have set and the top is slightly browned, about 25-30 minutes. Remove and let cool for 10 minutes before serving. If you’d like, top with additional freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
*I also love using this recipe to make individual-sized little quiches. You can either use regular-sized muffin tins (15-20 minutes cook time), or the cute mini ones (about 10-15 minutes). Just be sure to prepare the tins well with cooking spray (or use muffin liners), and watch to be sure that they don’t get overcooked!

Its been just over 1 month since I was sleeved and Im 52lbs down. My doctor cannot believe it. He told me that he has never had a patient loose so much weight so quickly. Since my wife also was sleeved, they want us to do a testiomial for his news letter and for the hosipital. I was also asked to speak to the support groups and want to hear all the low fat, health recipies i came up with. By far this was the best thing I have ever done.

Oh and I also made a pumpkin yogurt panna cotta to tonight that was great! Had the element of a pumpkin custard or flan but very low fat.
Ill attach that recipe too. Oh and I used almond milk instead of skim, regular canned pumpkin NOT pie mix like it says too and i just sweetened with some SF vanilla Syrup, pumpkin pie spice and splenda and Fat free vanilla yogurt. I put a tiny bit on SF maple syrup on the bottom of the cup and it almost came out like a pumpkin flan. Awesome! happy holidays all!

JMO....but why are so many people afraid to tell the truth. This is our lives - not theirs. This is one of the biggest personal decisions you will make - and you should stand proud. Not telling people shows you are hiding. Be proud. Stand tall. If people aren't supportive, tell them that you respect their opinion, but this is your life. Period. I have been very open. Some people try to tell me that I should try this or that, and I have a strong reply to each of them. "I have dieted for 14 years. I will not waste another moment. This is my decision and my life. If you aren't going to be supportive, then don't talk to me about it. I need all the support I can get - keep the negativity away."
Many blessings to all of you!!
