sabbymomof3 got a reaction from EnigmaInKY in Regret even after initial "omg, what have I done?"
BUYERS REMORSE lol I had the exact feelings. I was laying in pre-op wondering how many people chickened out at the last minute. I was wondering if my doc would be mad if I left. Lol. the first two weeks sucked. I felt guilty for going to such extremes to lose weight... fast forward 3 months later and I feel sooo much better. Down 40 pounds and ok with my choices. I chose this journey and I plan on it being a great decision. Nothing worth having ever came easy. I'm an inspiration to co-workers now and happy. You'll be happy soon

So my fiance and I have been living with the in-laws for a few months after my surgery and the whole family is doing so well! I've been doing a lot of the cooking, to take some pressure off my MIL, so I'm making high-protein, healthy meals every night. My MIL has been coming with me to the gym and my FIL will go with me on walks around the property where he likes to scope out the deer and check the wildlife cameras. When I visit my parents, my dad goes to the YMCA with me to swim almost every day and he started using MFP to track his food and exercise intake.
Recently my FIL has lost some weight and my MIL's cholesterol is down so much her doctor told her she doesn't need to go on medication after all! My dad had a physical after prostate surgery and he got a flawless bill of health. I'm so glad my journey to better health is having so many good effects on my family. Sometimes we can inspire people around us without even realizing it.

    How tall are you?
I was sleeved on the same day. My pre surgery weight was 216 and was 212 the day of surgery. I am now bouncing between 176-178.

I was sleeved on Sept. 4th. So far, down 48 lbs, including the 15 I lost before surgery. I've been very fortunate so far, can tolerate most foods now except for milk. I seem to be lactose intolerant now, it upsets my stomach, but I do eat cheese. Can't do ice cream, but some frozen yogurt. I eat a lot of greek yogurt. Haven't really had any problems, just have to be mindful of how much I eat, still trying to figure out that one. About a cup of food total now is about right, sometimes too much depending on what it is. Still have to make myself not to drink for at least 40 minutes after I eat. I am very happy I had this surgery and very thankful I have not had issues with vomiting.

I was an emotional eater too, and what I found helpful was to think about why I'm eating. Am I happy, mad, sad? Sometimes I would go to the cabinet and fridge over and over again just to look in there to eat when I had just ate. Now I still think about how I am feeling but a lot of it has gone away, I just don't have the same motivation for food. I feel like eating is a chore now, I actually don't feel like eating. The only reason I eat now is because I know if I don't have some sort of sustenance It could be a detriment to me. So now I'm eating to live. Another thing that helps is I finally see the weight coming off, my clothes are too big for me now, smaller clothes is a motivator. The main reason I got the sleeve was to make my children's lives more enjoyable, now I can finally stop saying Mama knows how to Rollerblade, roller skate, jump rope, ride a bike, dive off a diving board, and hula hoop...but I can't right now. Now I can say hey let's go have fun and teach them in the process about eating normal and eating a proper portion size. I'm still working on my husband's eating, but that's another story...I have noticed that I am more outspoken about how I feel now. Your NOT broken and you can do this, but you should really think about why are you eating when you eat, think about your emotional state and how long has it been since you last ate then eat. No regrets so far, but there was a period while I was in the hospital where I thought, Why did I do this to myself, but looking back it was because I could not eat like I used to. Now that I see progress I'm all good!

Aww, I'm sorry you feel bad I had my crying days in the hospital too, You'll feel better soon! I had my surgery 5 days ago as well! I was just thinking I'm sick of the feeling something is in my throat too! To ease the hunger and which I'm starting to think it's a horrible gas bubble I move, even if it is in the middle of the night, my poor dog thinks I'm crazy cause I'm constantly moving. To ease the throat annoyance I keep sipping on liquids, If I can just get rid of this gas bubble I will be alright. It seems to shift from lodged behind my ribs, to my shoulder, then back through my intestines, It's like the gas is playing ring around the Rosie in my belly LOL. I have had a small headache but I think it was my sinuses Oh and the heparin shots, numb your belly with ice first then clean with the alchohol, then the sticking isn't so bad,Feel better, just know each day will be a victory

It's ok to vent when you need to!! It will all get better. This is a big lifestyle change and I'm sure it will take some getting used to. There are plenty of people here that can and will help and support you through this and they have all been through it, are going through it, or will go through it. I know there will probably be days when I want to rant and rave once I have my surgery...so let it all out!!!

Are you really hungry? It may be that you need more fluids. I picked up diet hot chocolate (25 cal) from the store this afternoon and just tried it. It was SO good and it was nice to have something different.

It is So hard for me to get used to not being able to drink while I'm eating. It's such a natural habit to want to have a drink while eating. Last night I ate a piece of tilapia and get the ever so familiar feeling of it being stuck in my throat. I've had a sip of Water might help to push it down boy was I WRONG! I spent the next 20 minutes in the bathroom thinking it was all going to come back up. Ughhhh Why do you hate me Mr. sleeve.. 4weeks out down 25lbs.

I moved mine to the ring finger on my right hand after losing about 70 pounds. They're now very lose on that finger, so I may have to look into the inserts. I really don't want to get them cut and sized down...cuz you lose gold when you do that, and I paid for that gold!!!
