  1. I'm going for 10 lbs...hey, it could happen! lol :tongue2:
  2. I only lost a total of 15 lbs my first month! Hang in there! Also keep walking!
  3. I still lurk every now and then! lol !!! I love your avatar...that is one of my favorite Christmas shows. "I'm Mister Heat Miser, I'm Mr Snow" haha!!! Hi and welcome! Best wishes on the journey just beginning! Joanie :tongue2:)
  4. I wouldn't mind a Chilis big-mouth burger rt now, with fries...lol! I can't really say I have had dreams of food, but I have craved stuff...mostly things like pringles or pretzels...I think it's the salty, crunchy that I want. Good luck with your shakes....this too shall pass!
  5. Thanks so much blksuperwoman40! I really appreciate the advice. I started back to the gym 3 weeks ago and haven't lost anything yet...started watching my calories last week, thinking it would help, but nothing yet. I sure don't have a problem with adding a few calories to my diet...in fact it's been kinda hard keeping it at 1000. LOL!! later, Joanie )
  6. Maybe I need to cut back to 800...I've been on 1000 for the last week and haven't lost anything...and I've been going to the gym 5 days out of the week!
  7. In my opinion, it sounds like you've just hit a plateau....don't worry about it too much.
  8. I have been back to the gym for just 3 weeks now, so although I answered truthfully about working out 4-5 times/week...It hasn't been that long! Just sayin' !
  9. I gave some of mine to friends, but sold most at garage sales...such a great feeling to not have to wear a size 22 pants and 3x shirts anymore!
  10. Hi Tannie, I can understand your concern. that would scare me a bit as well. I just wanted to say that I don't agree with the carnation instant breakfast....there are so many protien shakes out there that are better than that. Although everyone handles them differently, and while I may love the flavor of one, someone else might not like it at all. It's just my opinion, since I am not a dr, but I would look for one that has more carbs, specifally sugar, to help you from getting those "light headed" feelings. You may have to drink more than 5 a day until your body adjusts to the diet....I was on just shakes for a week, then was able to have creamy soups, then the 3rd week was allowed to have soft fish. My sister had problems her first week, so she was told to start eatting some thin, creamy mashed potatoes. Just some ideas...but I wish you luck and hang in there you'll do great! Let us know! later, Joanie )
  11. Hi Jinky and welcome! :scared2: I'm so happy for you, and I'm sure you'll do great. Yes I agree with you about having to fix meals when you can't eat......this too shall pass! Let us know how your doing on your journey! later, Joanie )
  12. Hi Luke, welcome to the site....I can only tell you how much I love the lapband, but I know some people that had the gastric bypass done and have done really well...they lost weight faster than I did. I wish you luck with whatever you choose, let us know! later, Joanie )
  13. WOW!!!! I never heard of that, what did your dr say? I sure hope it's nothing!
  14. Not sure exactly what tests you will be getting, but I'm sure it's just a precaution to make sure you can handle the anesthesia. Congrats on getting your date...best of luck on your upcoming journey!
  15. I have had my lapband for over 4 yrs and I'm not sure what the "sweet spot" is... I will be awaiting a reply as well. I am thinking I am there since I have had the same fill amount for 2 yrs now. (2.2) I have good meals and bad meals, but I blame those on myself...eating too fast or taking too big a bite. I am still trying to break 50 yrs of bad eating habits. Thanks for posting! Joanie )
  16. Let's see...the tummy tuck and lift were done at the same time and cost about $10000. My arms cost me under $4000. My lower face lift cost $7200. I had my work done by Dr. Brian Burns in Victoria, Tx...and would recommend his office to anyone. He did work on my daughter, my cousin and my aunt and they are all happy with the results. Good luck with whatever you decide to do!
  17. Hang in there, sounds to me like you've got a handle on the situation, and just need to take it one day at a time...I do the same thing when I start eating chocolate. I can't stop at just a bite...so I avoid it altogether.
  18. I would do any of my surgeries again in a heartbeat. :frown: I've had a tummy tuck, boob lift, arms and lower facelift! If I can't get rid of my fatty upper legs so my jeans fit better, I will be getting that taken care of next! I have before and after pics if you want to check out my album. Good Luck, Joanie )
  19. Could you post before and after pics...My aunt is having this done next month and I would love to show her what to expect.... Congrats!
  20. :sad:I am so sorry you had this happen to you...I have always feared losing my band since I know I would gain the weight back without it...old habits die hard! Good luck!
  21. I know I don't fit the question, really, but here goes...I also have bcbs, but mine won't cover anything bariatric so I paid for everything myself. I went to a seminar on sat. May 6th,2006, called mon. the 8th made an appt with the dr for that afternoon, went back wed the 10th for my pre-op stuff and had surgery fri May 12th 2006. I have never regretted it! good luck, Joanie )
  22. I will have you in my prayers today, I hope you get good news from your dr today! Let us know! Joanie :cursing:)
