Thanks! I'm one of those people who eats the same thing...so lots of tuna salad and pre-cooked turkey sausage (jimmy dean)...which I guess is not as "dry" as some of the other meats, but i would think they are as dense? I'll try incorporating chicken into my meals and see if I can see restriction there.

During the week of thanksgiving, family and I went to burger joint, and I split sliders with my mom. There was three to an order, and she ate two and I ate one patty and maybe half the bun that goes with it. And this week I went to chick-fil-a and got the four piece count of the grilled chicken nuggets. Ate the first two in the car and felt satisfied and then the other two an hour or so later. I can eat more, but I only eat until I'm satisfied, or at least try to lo

I know it's going to sound crazy, but for the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) eat foods you wouldn't eat. Like if you go out to a restraunt get some Protein (obviously) but make sure it's a little on the indulgent side. Like for me, we go to this seafood place and I get bacon wrapped shrip stuffed with cheese and that seems to do the trick! And don't worry about the content, sometimes your body needs some fat and carbs to help speed up the process! And it can't be that bad for you, considering I can only eat two and then I'm stuffed
Basically, on a Saturday and Sunday don't count calories and eat what you feel like...it always works for me

buforu21 got a reaction from MommaAge in Do You Still Look Forward To Food Or Enjoy It?
I can obviously only speak for myself, but I enjoy food. Remembering previous diets, where if I even had a bite of something on accident, my whole day would be ruined! I would be on diets that made me miserable! Lean Protein and the blandest of fruits/veggies (I couldn't even eat stuff like corn or bananas!) Now, while I still make a conscious effor to eat the right things, it's a broad spectrum of things that I eat. Food can no longer be my enemy, if I wasn't hating it I was abusing it! Now, I enjoy food because I eat in moderation and I no longer experience guilt or anxiety about the things I eat. Some things do taste different and you might not like some things post op that you liked pre op (I can't even think about grape Powerade zero, whereas I used to drink it daily!) but overall I eat only what I enjoy, or I wouldn't eat! Haha...but in all honesty the thing I enjoy most about food is now I don't constantly think about it or crave it, which is huge for me, and that above all is better than the physical enjoyment of food, especially taste.

Weighed in at 197 this morning! I'm one week shy of my three month mark and I feel great! Some progress...
I actually don't know my starting pant size because I wore sweats the final year before getting sleeved, I didn't wear jeans for probably the better part of two years because I was so ashamed! But the biggest pair I have in my possession is a stretchy pair of 18 pants, but I was at least a 20
Now I'm wearing a size 16 comfortably, with room to spare
Again, with shirts the highest I have is XXL because for the last year up until surgery I wore oversized tee shirts and huge hoodies
Now I'm wearing between a XL/L, depending on what brand it is
It makes me sad to realize I wore the same stuff for a whole year! And sometimes I do get discouraged because I see that with 60 pounds gone I've only changed one shirt and pant size...but then I remember that these new sizes are actual clothes such as jeans and nice blouses, where as before it was sweats and hoodies
So today I'm proud of myself, I'm becoming more and more comfortable each day and I know without the sleeve it wouldn't have been possible! I love my sleeve and I am finally experiencing life instead of watching it pass me by plagued by fear! I think me not being so critical of myself might even be an NSV for me lol!

Don't have a picture for everyone but I combined 1 can of 98% fat free cream of mushroom Soup with 1 package of jimmy dean turkey sausage crumbles, added 1/4 cup of reduced fat cheddar cheese...ate less than two ounces of it, but man was it good! It was like having sausage gravy

I'm going to be frank, I eat carbs! I was once on diet similar to the sleeve, in that Protein came first then veggies and fruits...and if I was lucky a fat free cheese stick. It worked alright, lost a good 60 pounds, but I was MISERABLE! No corn, peas, bananas, pineapple, only the blandest fruits and veggies were okay. I decided this sleeve wasn't going to be a diet, especially like the one I had tried before, protein is still as important, but I eat Beans and peas and corn and potatoes and mango and bananas, and I'm not afraid of food. It used to either be I ate anything or close to nothing, depending on if wanted to start a diet that day. I can't tell you how many mondays I would start with some horrible diet and to be lucky if I stuck with it till Tuesday. Then once I gave up I'd spend the rest of the week eating horrible, promising myself next Monday would be the day. Two months out, 55 pounds down, and I have yet to feel like I am "missing out" as I so often had felt before. For pre-ops, I can't describe to you how incredible it feels to not want to eat the Pasta your friend is eating when you go out to eat, or to be completely content with just the small bowl of Soup you ordered, knowing that not too long ago eating at a restraunt was all about searching for a meal promised with huge portions and enough food. Carbs, Fats, Suagrs (the good kind of course, I'm not eating a bigmac or anything outrageous!) they're all okay to eat DURING weight loss, don't be afraid of them. Food doesn't have to be our enemy! Moderation and healthy choices is all it takes!

I take turkey pepperoni and a slice of 2% cheese (cut into tiny squares to fit on each pepperoni) and then put oven on broil and cook for 5-10 mins depending on if you like more of a soft or crunchy pepperoni
I bet if you added a dollop of pizza sauce to each pepperoni that would be good, like mini pizzas!

The misconception is that drinking while/directly after eating will stretch your stomach. The reason it's actually recommended is because if you drink soon after eating you are pushing the food out of your stomach faster, meaning you will feel full for shorter period of time. Surgeon said that when you're early out, if you slip up no biggie, it's when you're two years out and realize you can eat a lot more than you should because you're drinking with your meals you should follow the rule. I need Water during my meals, or I'd only be able to eat a bite per meal! You are fine, if you do remember, great, if not nothing will happen!
