Can I See Meals/portion Sizes Please?

I'm still pre op and in the planning stagees, so I'm unsure how much and what one eats after surgery. I'd love to see images of what you guys are eating, please with a cherry on top?

I plan on taking a lot ofpics of my meals afterwards for others as well..

thanks,

Amy

Why not measure out a portion you are eating now and put on a saucer:

2 ounces meat-chicken, tuna, fish of any kind

1/4 cup cottage cheese

one slice deli meat

2 T veggie of your choice

1 scrambled egg

one cheese string

one babybel cheese

I think you will get the idea. When you do post the pictures for the rest of us to see.

At a year out I can eat more, but I work hard at keeping the portions down. I eat 2 eggs with some cheddar cheese, but 1 egg will do me just fine for breakfast, lunch I will eat 5 slices of dry salami or order a child's portion of teriaki chicken and eat about 1/2 portion. I will order a Carl's jr Biscuit with sausage, egg, and cheese and throw the largest half of the biscuit in the trash. and even then i can only eat about 3/4th's of it. For dinner maybe 2 oz of steak a couple bites of baked potato, and a couple bites of salad at the most. I skip dessert. Picture a dessert size plate and only the middle has food on it. Half the plate is protein, 1/4th of the plate is veggies, and the other forth of plate is maybe a carb (I usually skip this part). I stay away from breads, pastas and rice.........

Thank you, all of you! It is fun for me to see the small portions. I just heard it described that your portion sizes after surgery will be about the size of an egg.

I know I saw a video a few months ago that showed a womans meals after a year post op, but I can't find it, darn it. I love getting ideas PRE op, for later.

I'm one week out today. Ill take some pictures of my food today and post them for you :)

Thanks!! Isn't it just liquids at this point, though?

I am 9mos post op. I eat when I am hungry, which isn't a good thing, considering, I am never hungry. Over the last month, I have become lactose intolerant. :( I can eat 1 scrambled egg with american cheese and a couple slices of bacon. That takes me a good 45 mins to eat. For lunch, I usually have a half of a turkey sandwich, snack a yogurt or granola bar, and dinner is just whatever I have fixed that night, and only a couple bites of it. At this point, I should be able to eat 8oz at a time according to my NUT, but I'm not even close to that.

Are you happy about that it disappointed?

Ty for sharing. <3

Yea on full liquids until Tuesday. Maybe ill just wait until then lol. I have usually about 1/2 a cup of soup at a time

I'm about a week out. I can do like 1/4 cup soup broth. 1/3 a yogurt. 2 tb eggs.1/4 cup protein shake today.that's it. And maybe try ounces water but its gotta be like frozen warm water its gross right now.

2 weeks post op. no pictures but i can give you a run down of my day

i usually start with tea but had a doctor appointment so no time this morning.

1 string cheese.(Protein 6g) 8oz of crystal light

i then had 7 crackers and was full.

came home and a greek yogurt with 14g of protein (5oz cup) couldnt finish it.

took a nap and had the last half of my 32g Protein shake.

later on in the night i had 1 scrambled egg with bits of ham in it....(got stuck) so i wont be trying that again for a few days.

I am one week post op. I can manage 1/2 an egg, or if I'm using different foods - about 4 teaspoons is max. It takes me at least 1/2 an hour to finish

That stuck feeling is the worst. I have a bowl with markings on the side of it so I know how much I'm taking in . For breakfast I have 1/2 cup of soggy cereal usually can't finish it all , never drunk the left over milk. Cup of coffee at mid morning or a baby yoghurt 40g

Lunch 125 ml which is 1/2 cup of left over mashed potato from previous nights dinner and then another drink in the mid afternoon

Dinner 1/2 cup of home made rice , a drink before be dans I'm done ! Too me this feels like a lot :( I'm worried I will put weight on but I know in reality it's under 600 calories .
