ozeedonkee reacted to tallysfunny in Possible Seperation And The Sleeve?
My grandmother gave me good advice when I went through my divorce. "Pick your battles. Small enough to win, but big enough to matter." That being said...you need to respect, love and care about you, your mind, your heart and especially your spirit. If you don't, no one else will. And if you learn to and your husband still doesn't, then he is not for you. It is well and truly his loss. Be there for your kids. Become the mother you AND your kids can be proud of.
Just remember that you are WORTHY of so much more.

Calling you ignorant and stupid because you want to be involved in a huge financial decision is UNACCEPTABLE. Actually - calling you that regardless of why he called you that is wrong. He has no right to do that. And I don't care how insecure he *might* be feeling.

Great to hear your positive story
My goal 12 months from surgery is to be 100lb lighter, and to use my new body to really make the most of life!

ozeedonkee got a reaction from slimagainsoon in Marriage Issues Already!?
*sigh* me too. We took out insurance 12 months ago specifically to enable a wl procedure, and now he is starting to make it into an issue. Plus, he's put himself on a diet and likes to tell me how easy it is to lose weight "the right way." In our case, I think it's a loss of control (over me) issue - so far he hasnt managed to guilt me out of the procedure. I am resolute - I deserve to discover "me" again, and the kids deserve it too.
You're not alone, I understand your frustration

Choosing not to comment for a YEAR is deliberately withholding no matter how you look at it.
The only thing in question is his motivation for such cruel behavior.

Bide your time until you recover and then consider a change once you've had time to think things through.
My philosophy is that life is too short to waste the good years in your 20s, 30s, 40s and beyond with people who take more than they give.
Good luck.

Lol I think I'm in the small percentage of people who didn't like it - definitely the minority. I like to be different
Agree re Karin Slaughter though. Good books!

Oooooh I've got a whole wardrobe of clothes which will be like buying new outfits - only it won't cost anything
I have an ultimate goal at 45kg (almost 100lbs) loss (and will take a few years to save for), to go to America. I want to go to the Bishops mule days and also to compete in a pack burro race. Yeeha!

I'm not sure what point you are trying to make. It may just be I am reading it differently or looking at it from another direction. When you go under anesthesia, regardless of if you are having a knee replacement, a boob job, a gall bladder removal, or a lap band, you risk death from a reaction to the anesthesia or pulmonary embolism or infection or any number of other possible complications.

I was in the same situation as you. I told my boyfriend while I was completing the insurance requirements, and he became so difficult about the surgery, that I felt I couldn't deal with it anymore. We broke up a few weeks before the surgery. Because we don't live together, I was able to focus on the journey without having to worry about what he was feeling. This was about me getting healthy, not about his insecurities. We started dating again, but it hasn't been easy.

My surgeon also said the band had a higher rate of needing further surgeries. I really don't want to be doing it more than once (if possible)

Strong smelling urine (and dark yellow in colour) is usually caused by dehydration. However, see a Dr and have it tested! You are far better off not leaving it until other symptoms appear.
