  1. Hey there. I just sent out emails with the attachments to all of you that requested the Smoothie recipes. I am sorry I am so late in doing this. I actually didn't realize anyone had responded until I got an inbox from someone today. So, if you want the booklet and didn't receive it today, let me know. I hope it helps! I got it from someone on the forum here and it helped me alot with ideas too. Have a great day!
  2. Congrats. I made it to Onederland TODAY! Woo-hoo!
  3. It gets better soon! I know it is hard but do your best and dont cheat! Keep telling yourself that it will get better soon! I promise!!!!!! You can do this!
  4. Yep I ended up having 2 migraines around my 1 month mark. One was really bad!!!! The dr called me in some migraine and nausea meds and I have been fine since. Hope you are feeling better soon!
  5. I am a little over 2 months and was released to begin to exercise as well. Getting ready to get my booty moving!
  6. There is a mouth spray called Biotene. I bought it and used it alot during those first few weeks and every once in a while I use it now.
  7. Oh just go and have fun! Dont worry about anyone else around you!!!! It is much better to do it with a friend for the encouragement and the accountability. Go, do your best and continue on this journey! YOU CAN DO IT!
  8. Good word for the day! Same goes for my experience! 2 months out here too and would do it all again in a heartbeat! New life!
  9. Yep the gas is the worst part of it. Gas X strips seem to help.
  10. Oh my you look amazing! Congrats and no wonder you have turned into a shop a holic! And what a blessing to have a husband who loves you and encourages you and is with you through the good times and bad! I got one of those too! We are blessed women! Thanks for sharing and being an encouragement to us all! Oh and your family is gorgeous!
  11. Mine stayed on for 3 weeks
  12. http://www.drugstore.com/caltrate-calcium-and-vitamin-d-gummy-bites/qxp379970?catid=183252 This is where I buy mine. The bottle is 100 gummies (they are pretty sweet) and you take 4 a day, although I only take 2 a day. $18.99.
  13. Hey, I think it is more common than you think. During the liquids phase, I was hungry too but the good news is, once this phase is over and you are able to eat solid foods, you will feel more satisfied although even that takes a little time. Also, are you taking anything for stomach acid? Sometimes the acid mimics hunger and also supposidly thirst mimics hunger. I also still have to watch myself now when I think I feel hungry to make sure it isnt just my head hunger talking. It should get better!!!! Just stick with what you are doing, sip on something when you feel hungry and before you know it you will be eating solid foods! Good luck
  14. I was at 5 weeks out. Today I am 2 months and 2 days out and went to see my NUT and was cleared to eat more solid foods including rice and pasta. She is very strict on my diet and how I eat it, but I am eating all kinds of things. It seems like it takes forever while you are on liquids but before you know it, you will be eating solids for a very long time!
  15. It really wasn't as bad as I expected. I really had no pain from my incisions or anything. The only problem was with the gas. Just make sure you walk, walk, walk. This will help pass the gas quicker. Also if you can get some of the GasX strips, these really helped. I dont regret having this done at all. I had my surgery 2 months ago today and still have times where I am surprised that I did it! Hope your experience is a good one!
  16. Hey Sannah, If you send me your email address I will email you a booklet that someone had once posted on here that has a TON of smoothie and Protein shake recipes. I would attach it here but I dont know how. If someone wants to tell me how, I will do it. If not, just let me know and I will send it to you.
  17. Great job! Keep up the good work!
  18. I am almost at 2 months and was cleared to eat red meat. I actually went out to a restaurant had a delicious steak last Sunday that lasted me for almost 4 meals. It was very very tender and moist and I had to cut it into very thin and small pieces (about the size of my fingernail) but I had no issues with it whatsoever and it was literally the best thing that I have eaten since my surgery.
  19. Thanks for the response. I do need to focus more on my water I know that in my head, but as I sit here this morning I can honestly say I have only had one sip of water to take my meds with. I am still just trying to figure out the 30 minutes before and after and then I just truly forget. Gotta get a method of reminding myself to drink more often. I am so excited about beginning to exercise. My dr must be really cautious because I was only granted permission last week to begin exercise and only 5 minutes a day!!!! I was a bit frustrated, but I am doing my best to follow his instructions as closely as possible. I am just soooo ready!!! Thanks again! Ready to get going and leave this fatigue behind!
  20. Hey nursedel, I am not sure how things will turn out for your surgery because all drs are different. My dr had me on a liquid diet for a week before to shrink my liver. Some go through a whole month of a pre-op diet but I have heard of others who do not have any type of pre-op diet other than to fast the day before. I would go in today to your surgeon and be completely honest with him and tell him that you strayed away from your diet and that way he can be completely informed. Thinking of you today and hoping that things go well today.
  21. Hey all! Almost 2 months post op and I am feeling great, loosing weight slowly but surely and things are going good. BUT, I tend to have waves of fatigue that hits me that is becoming bothersome. Not sure if it is Vitamin deficiency related or not. It used to be more so at night time but I just got hit with one this morning. Usually I would go take a hot bath to help alleviate the symptoms but I cant do that right now so I guess I will pop some tylenol and see if that helps. Anyone else experiencing this? Other than that, things are great!
  22. I was sleeved on the 11th and have lost exactly the same as you have since surgery! 26.8 But I had lost 10 pre-op so I have lost a total of 37. We must be twins! hehe Good job!
  23. I am not sure about the flying, but you will need to prepare ahead of time for your meals. Depending on your dr's program, you may still be on liquids at that time or just beginning to be on solids. I would talk with my dr, if I were you so that you can be ready to go and enjoy that wedding!
  24. I believe that it contributes to holding onto water weight or being a diuretic, but I am not positive, BUT, I am allowed 2 cups of coffee per day...so I am allowed caffeine although I don't drink it.
