  1. Yeah! Great job! Keep setting those goals, it really makes the day to day losing mean a lot more and it makes the task not seem so daunting! My ring is now WAY to big for me and I have to get it sized once I get to my goal weight. Doesnt it feel great?!
  2. Great job! Dont you feel sooo much better??? Hard to believe that you lost more weight than what you could put into luggage for a plane flight! Keep it up!
  3. Sorry fellow VSGers! This is the worst it gets really. It wont be long until you can add some more things to your diet. Switch up the flavors of your waters using mio or crystal light. Wish I could give you more help but just know that this will soon just be a memory!!!!!! And things are about to get easier.
  4. I didnt take anything but you are right, the night before was pretty restless. My main problem was that I was worried that I would oversleep and miss my early appointment. Good luck on your surgery! Keep us updated.
  5. I always tend to think of gall bladder first because lots of VSG people have had to have their gall bladder out after surgery. If it doesnt get better, call the dr. Hope you feel better soon!
  6. No Foxy, My stomach has never really hurt unless I eat too fast or too big of a bite. Have you talked to your surgeon or your NUT yet? I know you dont want to eat, but you must get enough calories to survive (and to lose weight) I know that eating sure isnt as much fun as it used to be for me anymore which is fine by me, I am just eating to survive now, Hope you feel better soon! Let us know.
  7. I am 5 months out and just recently switched from taking the gummy vitamins to a regular womans centrum multivitamin HORSE Pill. The doctor says it is fine and I seem to do ok with it. I have to be careful to make sure that I have a little food on my stomach before I take it. I also take calcium (also a horse pill) B-12 sublingual, Biotin chewables and Vitamin D capsules. Hope this helps.
  8. Hmm, well are you exercising and eating solids yet? If not, then I would be asking lots of questions about those things.
  9. I know how you feel about having to wait. My employer took 8 months to approve me then my insurance took about 2 months. All in all, it was almost a year from beginning to being sleeved. It was frustrating at times but it was worth the time and effort. The best thing I could have done for myself. good luck to you, I hope the time flies by quickly for you and that the insurance is in your favor.
  10. You will be surprised to see how quickly the time actually does go by. (Of course sometimes it might seem to last forever but in general it will go by quickly) Today is my 5 month anniversary for my sleeve and I can not believe how fast it went nor how different my body looks. Take pics of you now and along the way. I have taken them on each month anniversary as well as measurements. It helps to keep you motivated! Keep us informed on how you do!
  11. I know how you feel, I really dreaded working out this morning, but was happy I did when I looked at the clock and realized I only had 7 seconds left. haha Get up tomorrow and set that goal of 15 pounds in front of you and get to it! You can do it!
  12. Congratulations. I know you are excited. Keep us updated!!!!
  13. It will be here before you know it! Good luck to you!
  14. I think that being nervous is only natural. I posted a very similar post about 6 months ago. Today marks my 5 month anniversary of being sleeved and I have to tell you that it is the best thing I could have ever done! It is difficult at times, but so was being overweight, so was trying to diet and getting discouraged, now I have this new tool that helps to ensure my success. Make up your mind that you will use this tool properly and appreciate it and take care of it. You are going to do great! Congratulations on getting approved. I know that it will be wonderful having your sister along for the journey! Blessings to you both!
  15. You CAN do this!!!! It is only a very short time period. It will be hard but it is sooooo worth it! Just keep reminding yourself that this is temporary and that soon it will be a memory! YOU CAN DO IT! When you think about cheating or giving up, just do something else to keep your mind off of it. YOU CAN DO IT!
  16. Congratulations! It is such a good idea to set goals throughout your weight loss. It makes a huge difference. Keep up the great work!
  17. I was about 2 months before I was allowed on the eliptical and it was just at 5 minutes at a time. Good luck!
  18. I was cleared several months ago to eat pretty much any fruit and I am 5 months out. I would think that you should be fine but it is best to see what your NUT says and follow their plan. I am a fruit-a-holic now! LOVE IT! Hope you can get some soon!
  19. My son and husband have just gotten into it. I really havent tried yet although it is going on as I type. Silly me, I thought that from the name of it, that it was a western. No idea why. haha DEFINATELY NOT a western.
  20. I would wait for several weeks before exercise and would stay away from alcohol too. Maybe you could call the surgeons office tomorrow morning and ask for some better instructions. You have the right to be informed. Hope you feel better soon! Once I had my gall bladder out, I felt SOOOO much better.
  21. My husband actually just bought me an electric smoker (I cant use a regular one because we live in a high rise apartment in a major city) Anyway, it is AMAZING!!!! The meat has a fantastic flavor and really doesnt need any bbq sauce although I love it! Just got it in January and have already used it about 5 times!
  22. Yep, tomorrow makes 5 months since my surgery and no problem anymore. YIPPEE!
  23. Yeah dont be afraid to take the pain meds right now while you need it. You will feel better real soon and this will all be a memory on the way to a new you! Good luck and happy healing!
  24. Keep up the good work! It wont be long until today is just a memory so lets make it a good one! YOU CAN DO THIS!
  25. Sorry, I know that is frustrating but just know that before you know it, you will be able to eat those things NOT pureed. Just take your time and dont get discouraged. Good luck!
