  1. Hey there, Congrats on the beginning of your new journey. I am two weeks post op and doing well. I just wanted to say not to be disappointed if after your surgery that you are really bloated by the gas. It took several day, to a week to have the swelling go down. I pray that things go well for all of you!
  2. Hey, still new with my sleeve, my dr has me eating a Breakfast, lunch and dinner with 2 Snacks. Still on full liquids so I know things will change but how is eating throughout the day different from the term grazing? Is it that you are deliberate in what and when you eat? Thanks!
  3. Well this weekend was hard for me. I had my surgery on the 11th. My husband and his buddies ordered pizza yesterday so I just stayed out of the area where they were. Also, we went to the movies today and both my son and husband had a big soda and popcorn. I know I made this decision for me and I keep making myself say that. I dont want them to feel weird about eating around me, but I guess I do wish maybe they would, although that isnt fair. I think we will eventually be able to have a few bites of our favorite things, but I know for sure that if I had not had this surgery, that today I would have had pizza, popcorn and pink berry yogurt this weekend, so I guess my tool is helping me do what I should do! Hopefully by the time I can take a few bites, maybe it wont be quite so tempting.
  4. Hey there, I have H pylori too, but the Surgeon went ahead and did my surgery and will have me on antibiotics in 2 months. No problems there. Hope you do well!
  5. From Baton Rouge, Louisiana but living in Lima, Peru South America
  6. CUTE CUTE CUTE! Congrats! Keep it up!
  7. I am feeling great! I haven't really ever even thought of looking at the different types of oils although I guess with this new life/journey, I should. We are fortunate to have LOTS of great fresh fruits and veggies that are so very inexpensive so that is really nice.
  8. Oh really, I had no idea!!! I am going to have to look into that! Thanks so much for the help!
  9. No problems in the poop area! hahah! And it isnt tasty at all to me in the soup. I can cook with it ok, but it just has such a strong flavor. How you feeling?
  10. Well to be honest, my bowels have been moving really well even before the oil but I am sure it will help even more now! I have IBS so I am assuming that it will help me there too. Who would have known? Well about taking it in the soup, I have to add 2 teaspoons full and I really can only still eat about 1/4 cup of soup so I guess I am getting a bunch...eww and I can taste it really strong. Thanks so much! I feel real good since surgery, Having to deal with changing my thoughts about food and also just struggling with actually eating. When did you have your surgery?
  11. Thanks so much for this information. It does make a little bit more sense. I guess it has lots of positive results. Once again thanks for the helpful information!
  12. No he didn't and I had so much in my brain at the time that I forgot. Next time I go, I will def ask. Funny huh?
  13. Hey Friends, I am 11 days out and have switched from Clear liquids to liquids (creams). I am in Lima, Peru and so I doubt any of you have my same Dr. and my diet is a little different from you guys because I just cant get some of the things that you guys have access to. Well, I was told that for lunch and dinner to eat a cream Soup (has to be homemade) and after I have it in my bowl and hot, I am to add 2 teaspoons of olive oil to the bowl and then eat it. I for one am not a big fan of olive oil except on occasion. It definitely alters the taste of my already not appetizing cream soup. Anyone else have to do this or know why he wants me to do this?
  14. GasX Strips were a big help to me. Hope you feel better soon!
  15. Oh my! chocolate Chip Cookies and M&M cookies are my husbands favorites and he has been hinting at wanting some but I dont know that I could handle it yet. I am off of clear liquids but still on Liquids. You are a rock!!!!! BUT! I must tell you, one of my dear friends had her sleeve in July 2010 and was just released from her dr today. She posted pics and talk about motivation for me! OH MY WORD! I cant wait! It took her two years but she is so cute and skinny! Forget those chocolate chips! We can do this!!!!!!!!
  16. I agree about the airline seats and the tray never being able to lay flat!!!! We fly alot and I will be glad to see how it feels in Dec when I fly next. Hoping there will be a great difference! I will also be ready to use a regular sized towel to wrap around me. I have been using a beach towel that barely did the trick but I can honestly say that it is already fitting better since my surgery 10 days ago! NSV!
  17. Thanks so much!!!! I am on to creams now and it wasn't as easy and great as I thought it would be. Just a little emotional today for some reason. I know it will work out eventually and things will be better and just needing to be patient! Big hugs!
  18. So to those who have experienced the return on hunger.... Does the size of our new tummies allow for the hunger we feel to be satisfied?
  19. Good to know. I was sleeved on the 11th and lost 8 pounds but in the last few days nothing. I keep telling myself that it is normal. Thanks for the encouragement.
  20. Just remember it is temporary. It might be hard today and tomorrow but I pray that it will be worth it for you (AND ME) in the long run! Thinking of you!
  21. I was just moved to creams from liquids today. I am 8 days post op (sleeved on the 11th) I was so excited, but as soon as I ate my cream, although I didn't think I would, I could feel a BIG difference, I was only able to eat 1/4 cup and felt like that was going to come up. I guess by the end of 2 weeks on the creams, I will be used to it. I sure hope so. I was so excited and now I am a little scared for the next time I eat. Refried Beans, cheese and eggs sounds divine but I dont think my little tummy is ready for it yet, although I am! haha
  22. Yes, I was sleeved on the same day (11th) the dr said that the most important thing right now is to stay hydrated. thinking of you!
  23. So glad you are doing well! Keep us updated!
