  1. Thinking of you! I had mine last week and I keep finding myself thinking "Wow, I have really finally done this". Cant wait to hear your stories of success in the near future.
  2. I was sleeved last Tuesday almost a week ago. I have been doing well, lost some weight so far, but I am still on full liquids. I will go to creams etc on Thursday, I have really become bored and frustrated with my liquid diet and i know that I only have 2 more days of it to go! Thanks for your update because it gives me something to look forward to. I didnt have much trouble on my preop diet because my husband was traveling and I didnt have to cook. Well while i was in the hospital my husband had to be put into a leg cast for a broken leg so he has been with me every day, which is really great because I love him being around, but the smells from the food is really difficult especially since friends have been bringing over meals to help us out during this time. When does the feeling of wishing you could just take a bite go away? I really dont feel hungry, a little bit every now and then but not really. Once I get to actually chew on something in 4 weeks, will this help? Thanks for the help!
  3. I had a drain but it was taken out on the 2nd day. No problems at all. It just felt a little weird when he pulled it out. Good luck on your upcoming surgery.
  4. I am doing well. The second day was the worst with gas, nausea and vomiting but day 3 was soooo much better. Good luck on your surgery! Just keep telling yourself in the hard spots that it will get better! I am not even a week sleeved and I feel really really good. Not sure when they will start my med for H plyori but I am not worried about it for now. Just have to focus on healing my tummy. Let me know how you do. I will be thinking of you tomorrow!
  5. I was just sleeved on the 11th (Tuesday). I had a great first day but my second day was difficult because of gas, nausea and vomiting but my dr said that day three would be a new day and it was. I came home on Thursday and have felt really much better than I expected. I have been following my liquid diet to a tee but it has been a little difficult seeing my husband and son eating normal food. (friends have brought food over for my family because my husband broke his leg while I was in surgery and is in a leg cast now. we are a fine pair! haha) Anyway, things are going really well. I stopped taking my pain pills yesterday and just getting used to my new life and new stomach. I have nicknamed my stomach Dolores (in spanish it means hurts or pain haha). I have lost 6 pounds since Tuesday so I am very encouraged. During my most difficult time, I kept telling myself that it is only temporary and that it wouldnt last forever and I was right. Learning how to rock my sleeve!
  6. Hey, I was diagnosed with H Pylori as well but they decided to wait until after my surgery to give me antibiotics. I was just sleeved on Tuesday and guess I will be getting my meds eventually. I dont think you need to worry.

  18. I will be having my surgery in less than a week. I have a question about stalls. When you get in a stalling period, do you need to do something different or keep doing the same thing. I have heard of people trying to jump start their diet in some way but do you do this in a stall after VSG?
  19. I know you are excited!!!! It wont be long till you will be beginning a new journey! Congrats cant wait to hear your updates. (I will be sleeved next Tuesday. I am in the middle of my pre-op diet)
  20. Thinking about you! Congratulations on the beginning of this new journey!
  21. I have Cigna and they said that it would take 15 business days to respond, on the 16th day I contacted them and they stated that my email got pushed out because one of my attachments wouldn't open. I had received an email right after I sent it telling me that they had received it and that it would be 15 business days but never received an email stating that something had made it back out of the system. I really almost cried on the phone but I must say, the lady that was helping me, pushed it through to the medical review and they had me an answer in just a couple of days. Moral of this story is....at least contact them a few days after the info is sent to make sure that they have at least received it all. Good luck!
