8 Days Post Op. (9-11-12)

Feeling pretty good. Quite emotional when I called the Dr with ??? On day 6. Having real trouble with the Protein drinks. Sip Water all day long and still don't drink that much. When I walk around the house I feel a little dizziness at times. I can't believe people are already exercising. Been ready all of your posts and everyone sounds like they are doing well.

  • Hang in there. I didn't feel decent for 2-3 weeks. I could hardly get protein in until well into week 2. Staying hydrated is the most important thing. It gets better!

  • Sometimes when you read posts, it does seem like everyone is doing so great. I know for me, I thought I was doing great in week 1, then week 2 it got even better, and now by week 6, I look back to wee

Thanks for the confidence. It brought tears to my eyes

Sometimes when you read posts, it does seem like everyone is doing so great. I know for me, I thought I was doing great in week 1, then week 2 it got even better, and now by week 6, I look back to week 1 and can't believe I thought I was doing good! Our mind is a powerful thing that way -- just thinking we're doing good makes us feel that way!

As long as you are staying hydrated right now -- that should be the goal and you sound like you are putting in every to do that -- so be proud of yourself!

Hi! Also had my surgery on the 11th, and am doing pretty good. Been walking on the treadmill(slowly) and just trying keep hydrated. Have lost 12 pounds since surgery which is great! I also had a little trouble with cold water, so switched to room temp water and hot tea. that helped me a lot.Just keep at it, and do your best!! Good luck!

I wouldn't worry about that, my doctor said I probably won't be exercising until about 4 weeks out. I've been reading the same things but after my surgery I'm not going to let that affect me. I think I'll just try to listen to my body and my doctor and go from there
