stalled......frustrated!
You are doing great! Patience and perserverence are the two words I think of most often with this weight loss journey. My 1st 2 - 3 weeks I weighed every day because it was so exciting to the pounds drop, but I soon went down to twice a week and now I am once a week. You might try to not focus on the scale so much, the weight is going to come off.. Good Luck!

Dealing with mother's opposition (or not dealing...)
Well, very doubtful you will be able to change your mom at this point so you are going to have to change how you let her affect you. You have to believe in yourself and not let others affect how you feel. I know dealing with Mom's and family can be especially hard but it isnt right for people to say things that are hurtful. I believe you need to set some boundaries.. Perhaps you can say, ok you can say everything you want to about this one time, But after that, i just need you to be here for me and support me. No more negatives. If you can not do this, then you have to let what is said go in one ear and out the other. Focus on your happiness. .

still struggling to get in protein after 3 mths
I am 3.5 months out and for snack i am eating beef jerky... You should get close as long as you make sure that everything you eat contains protein. The qty we eat is so small that is only way you will be able to get close. of course, i didnt know 90 was the target #.. I am trying to get 60 - 75 a day... Guess I need to increase my intake.

Depressed to the fullest!
yes, you may be eating too few calories.. try going to 600 -800 per day more protein then carbs. i have been around 600 per day but now I am anywhere between 600 - 900.. I lose about 2 - 3lbs a week. I am 3.5 months out.. It is slower loss than most but I am happy with it. The main thing I try to focus on is I am doing this without all of the normal stress.. You know, wanting to eat but ot eating with will power alone.. Such an intense struggle for me.. This has allowed me to eat the 600 - 800 without all the horrible hunger pains I always had before. And knowing I cant eat it that much even if I wanted to has taken alot of stress from me. Hopefully your stall will break soon.

What are you guys eating ?
i ate refried beans but i thinned it down with beef broth.. it tasted so good I also ate tomato soup, pea soup, yogurt, things like that. I know the savory tasted so good after drinking so many sweet shakes for so long..

Depressed a bit
Well, you could go for a nice walk, go to a movie, call a friend or family, read a book, take a hot bath, .. You could also have a good cry, feel better, and still do one of the above! Its all about not dwelling on things and knowing it is ok to not be happy all of the time. Keep your head up and focus on you!

CHIRRRACHA
I have been eating it since I started eating eggs which was about 4-5 weeks post op. I love it but I do not eat as much at one time as I used to.. I spread it on a little sparingly. Like someone else said, try it, if it doesnt bother you you are good to go

Are smoothies allowed?
just want to remind you that one of the pitfalls i have heard about is drinking your calories. drinking things high in calories will not promote the weight loss and can even bring about weight gain. I know how you feel about missing something you loved. I loved icecream and it is one of the few things that still tugs at me saying "eat me".. i haven't given in and i hope not to.. not yet anyways.. still have lots of lbs to lose! good luck!

How much are you eating?
if you are feeling bad, you areprobably over eating. I would eat 3-4 ounces of protein slow if possible.. then eat the veggies. you kind of need to stop before you feel it.. if not, it is too late ,, but keep getting that protien in, that is wonderful!

2lbs....WTH?
I am 2 lb a week loser for the past month (3 months post op) At 1st I was discouraged but then I am like 2 lb loss is 100 times better than before WLS so I am happy. I suggest taking the measuments. People tend to lose inches even though they are loosing slow on lbs. Might make you feel better. Just try not to compare yourself to others.. If you have major concerns, talk to Dr and NUT. Make sure you are recording everything you take in. They might need that info to help you if you hit a stall.

2days post op

FYI Insomnia Low Carb
I did a little internet research because I wasnt aware of this since I have no problem sleeping. Here are some ways you can wind down, naturally. * Turn down the lights. Numerous studies have shown how sensitive the human eye is to light. Get room-darkening shades, get an eye mask, whatever it takes. * Muffle all sounds. If there is a noise problem, get one of those ocean-sound CDs. They really do work. * Set a nighttime routine. Take a bath, have a warm no-caffeine drink, read a story. Whatever your routine is, keep doing it each night. * Avoid caffeine from 6pm onward. Caffeine has a long term effect on your body. Lack of sleep also triggers the hormones ghrelin and leptin, which makes you overly hungry in the morning. Some studies have shown that people who do not get enough sleep eat up to 1000 extra calories the next day!

I can't deal with this stall anymore
Not sure how you can give up with weight loss surgery. I guess if there is a will there is a way but you should put your energy towards following the plan and having some patience. Some people lose faster than others. That is the only negative I see about the forum is we tend to compare ourselves to each other and we are not alike. I have lost 43 lbs since surgery on 10/16 and it has been slower than others, faster than some, and about the same with others. i try not to think about that too often because it can frustrate you. I am just happy i am no longer gaining, i am losing and I am not suffering from dieting. I eat small amounts and I am full and I am still losing. I cant ask for anything better than that. You will get there.. Focus on the positives and remember this is a life long journey. I hope it gets better for you soon!

Questions...
i have seen this issue mentioned before but I dont have the time this exact moment to search for it out here. I do know I experience the same thing RARELY. What I associate it wth is the food and possibly eating to fast and not chewing well enough.. I think this has happened twice.. I do occasionally feel the pains after eating but based on the research and comments out here I believe it is sort of gastric related. Especially since you have had everything checked.. I would not eat the things that made you feel this way for a while. Perhaps wait another 3 - 4 weeks before you try eggs. It is weird but I do not enjoy eggs like I once did. My tummy feels different after I eat them but it has gotten better with time. I am about 13wks post op now..

Monthly Cost for Protein?
They seem expensive but I actually did a financial analysis on spending on food pre wls and post wls. I am saving about $300 a month post wls on food.. I ate out a lot pre wls.

I feel out of control
In my opinion, the pre-op diet is the hardest part of this journey. Knowing I was about to make a life long change made it even harder to resist to the food funerals.. I kept saying really? I have to diet now when it wont be too long I will not be able to eat? It was a mental battle.. I said goodbye to some of my favorite foods and then got busy.. I focused on this was to shrink the liver which is a neccessary part of a safe surgery.. Once I did that I got better at following the diet. Good Luck with all f this. I regret nothing except not doing it many years earlier.
