Grits?
well unfortunately you wont know what you can toloerate if you do not try it. I ate grits but i have toloerated most things I have ate. All I can suggest is to eat new things slow.. Take a bite.. let it sit for a minute.. see how it feels.. feels ok, take another.. Sorry you have been having trouble eating. It should get better for you as time passes.

Cant stop eating!
you can still do the counseling Kpaige.. Never too late I went through the saying goodbye to my fac's before preop diet time. Now 11 weeks post op and I have no desire to eat more than I should. It doesnt feel good. Got sick twice due to eating a little too much I think. I am just thankful to be losing weight and not feeling deprived, or like I am having to suffer. No longer dependant on my willpower which wasnt very strong. Hang on to the positives!!

GOOD fast food choices ?! :)
if you have a locker or a desk have extra food stuffed in there for when you forget. I keep chili, soups, protein bars, etc in mine to fall back on. i bought several small serving containers with lids and try to cook up a couple of things on the weekends, then break it down in small servings and toss it in the freezer. I just reach in and grab something along with a protein shake and some yogurt and that is what I eat on all day.

Hungry hungry hungty
perhaps what you think is hunger could be dehydration and acid indigestion.. Find something to drink when you feel that pain. Try an acid reduction med too.. If it is true hunger, it will get better as time passes. try and eat low carb high protein. eat slow and dont drink before or after. Good Luck

Scared of...
10 weeks post op and I was afraid of all the things mentioned above too.. my main fear was going through this and failing... again.. But I actually think I am going to succeed.. This surgery has meade it so easy.. The main thing is not having to depend on will power alone. The restriction of the intake has made it tolerable, even easy.. All of the things you that have been metioned are true possibilities but the final outcome will be worth it. Dont forget to focus on the prize! Health and normalcy! Even if some of you experience some of your fears, you will overcome and make it to the finish line! GOOD LUCK!

Alcohol warning?
i have read where some people move from food addiction to drinking problems. This is why it is important to get some therapy regarding the tendancy to replace one addiction with another.

New and beginning the journey...
Thank you for inspiring me! I was just sitting here feeling sorry for myself and getting more and more depressed by the minute but reading your post is helping me. We all have struggles, it is part of life. At least I am still here and with this surgery, being given another chance. Hang in there, the road seems long but when you are at the end looking back you will be thankful! (almost 8 wks post op and 31 lbs down from surgery weight, 44 lbs total)

13 Days Post Op
how your stomach reacts seems to change as time passes. I have had a pretty good experience so far. I have noticed that my tummy reacts a bit differently. I am 6 weeks post op. I believe for the most part, it is either when I forget and drink and eat to fast, or when I am trying a new food. It reminds me to be kind to it

My Weight Loss Journey
Your journey is inspiring! Everything you hyave done so far has required lots of strenght, courage, and faith! You should be so proud of yourself. I ordered 2 canisters of powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury (google), which I found, pretty good. I like the choc and vanilla. I still have some left and I am 5 weeks post-op. I also drank slim-fast which is not bad. It all takes getting used to and besides, if you are hungry enough most anything will take good . Just try to come out here daily when you can and read around on different subjects. This site has been very helpful to me since I dont have much of a support system at home. GOOD LUCK anf keep up all of the positive changes in your life. Diana

How Soon Did You Return To Work After The Sleeve?
had surgery on 10/16 and was back to work on 10/24. I stayed overnight at the hospital. This has been a decent experience for me so all I can do is recommend it. Good luck with your decision.

What Doctor Do I Call? (Tmi Warning)
If you google this you can find out a lot of info.. if you have been taking the meds you mentioned above, they can cause the stool to change color. here is another thing that could cause it but was higjhly unlikely, i suggest you call your PCP asap. Stool that is light in color -- like grey clay -- can also mean trouble if it’s a change from what you normally see. Although it doesn’t happen often, very light-colored stool can indicate a block in the flow of bile or liver disease.

Compliments/ Insults
I am just as bad about what I say about myself. I dont handle compliments well because I dont believe they are sincere. I do like complimnets about my clothes or shoes or hair, but nothing else. I say negative things about my self trying to be humorous when I get uncomfortabel., For example, I bump bootys with the person working the cash register behind me - I am like "oops I also beep when I back up" LOL,,, Because in my mind when our bootys bumped they immediately thought something negative about me anyways... I know, i have some issues and I am going to counseling but this is from years of being ovewrweight and trying to protect my feelings..

Incision Concerns :-( On Day 8
my incisions itched like crazy.. i just rubbed them lightly through my clothing and it helped. I associated mine with part of the healing process. .It went away and then came one more time in the final healing stage..
