Tummy Tuck Scar
can I ask if it the surgery is worth it? Is it better to have gone through it all and just have scars or is it better to have flabby skin? Just curious to peoples opinions.

I Can't Eat, But I Can Shop
if you have enough clothes at this weight level than perhaps you only buy new things as you meet new goals. I noticed you were 22 lbs from goal, i am not sure how many of the clothes you are buying at this weight will still fit you when you hit your goal weight. I am sure it is exciting and look forward to looking good in clothes again.

Recently Sleaved And I Have Some Questions...
yes you can stretch your tummy out again. That is why you have to be careful in eating slow and not going past the feeling full stage. Not sure about the carbonation. I love sodas but havent had any since the surgery. 4+ weeks out now.. I too will look forward to being near goal and being abole to eat normal but I understand the scariness behind the amount of what we can eat. I have already been wondering why I can eat so much so early. (probably 3 ozs of meat and 1/4 c of veggies). It just seems like it is too much and my weight has been slow coming off these last 2 weeks so a little concerned. Most of what you mention is being afraid of relying on self control again, I think.

Please God!
yea, I know I am going to look older. I am 55 and my wrinkles were definitely fluffed out.. It is a good thing i am not doing this for that reason, but would be lieing if I said I hadn't thought about all of the plastic surgery I should have when done.

A Pill To Fix All Things!
My therapist said something the other day during our session I found very interesting. She said it always amazed her at how most people dont give a second thought to taking meds to fix their high blood pressure, or kidney infections or pains, etc etc etc but when it comes to our mind and taking meds to help it there is this stigma attached. She said we should be just as concerned about finding help for that our area. There is no need to struggle so. Just thought I would share. It makes sense to me

Torn!
so here is my opinion on this surgery. I have been struggling with weight issues for 30 years. I could lose it but it was always hard and then I would just gain it back. I blame that on a few things but one of the things was the size of my stomach. After overeating for years it was stretched out. It took abnormal serving sizes to get full. When I did diet it was painful, my tummy always begging for food. This surgery got rid of a big percentage of that. After some time passes, I will eventually have what I consider a normal stomach. Where normal serving sizes will satisfy me. My only regret is not being able to do it 20 years ago. I hope to be living somewhat a normal food life in a year or so thatnks to the sleeve.

Can't Shake The Depression
Not sure what sort of hard time your family is giving you but you should clear that up and set boundaries. They need to help you not hinder you. Seeing a therapist is one of the best things you are doing right now. Most of us have emotional issues tied to our weight. I have always brushed off compliments. I dont feel deserving.. This is why I have a counselor. The weight coming off of me is not going to magically fix me. So yes, I have been there and will probably be there again. This ride is a roller coaster but I am so looking forward to being 120 lbs lighter Hang in there and try to surround your self with positive helpful people

Food Funeral?
Well I attended a few funerals before surgery date. I did ensure I still lost the weight I needed to and I didnt do it the last few days because I didnt want to inflate the liver with a last burst of FAT. It did not har m me, but I have heard others mention how their surgery was delayed because of liver still being too big.. I totally understand where you are coming from though..

Hungry
can you eat a little tomato soup? that helped me early on

If You Dont Mind Me Asking...
8500 upfront and looks like maybe another 300 ish for some labs etc.. I had mine done in Laredo Tx, Live in austin. It was about 6000 cheaper there than here. My Dr and the experience was excellent.

Sugar Free Candy
it is great ot have when you need that sweet tooth satisified. I understand though it is best if we try to not let that sweet tooth develop again if possible.. I am curious to see how succesful I will be in that area. Sweets and carbs were my nemisis.

When Do People Notice?
Some people notice others do not.. One coworker asked me how long before i would start to see results.. LOL I just played it off and was like SOON and I cant wait. Other coworkers are like I can already tell.. It isnt about that for me anyways.. Both kinds of attention good and bad can bother me.. I am just about getting healthy and feeling good about my self again.

3 Weeks !
my surgery date was 10/16. Some of the things I have ate are : refried beans (thinned down with beef stock and a little grated cheese), tomato soup, greep pea soup, chili.. just eat slow and chew well on the chili.. i have lost 2o lbs post op.

Bad Days
the only other thing I can suggest is to go on a carb cleansing diet. I know when I eat too many carbs I tend to start craving them. If I go back to high protein and get past the 1st set of withdrawals I do better.

Its So Hard!
Pre-op diet is much harder then post-op, at least for me. Pre-op you can still eat you are just relying on will power, post-op you cant eat. Much easier post-op. Hang in there and do your best!

Defeated After 4 Months?
Hi, i am 3 wks post-op and no regrets to date. I do know that all my research showed that you could fail on this procedure. It is not a miracle cure. You still have to eat the right things and exercise. You can definitely put your weight back on. I finally decided to do it because of the jump start it could give me and the smaller stomach. I had yo-yo'd my entire life and I believe one of the reasons was my stomach. Of course the biggest reason was my emotional eating but having a stomach that was never filled up was hard to battle. The sleeve will eventually stretch for all, this is how we will finally be able to eat enough to get on a maintenance plan. This is my personal opinion. Just realise this will take effort on your part and dont give up.. GOOD LUCK

Any Regrets? I Do ..
