  1. I had gastric sleeve surgery in November, 2012. Two weeks after surgery I went into A-Fib also. My heart was racing (177 beats per minute) and heart skipping beats. I was taken to hospital and given drugs through an IV to slow it down. I have had A-Fib off and on, ever since the first surgery. I just had a revision to gastric bypass two weeks ago and the fourth day out from surgery, I went into A-Fib again. My surgeon and cardiologist were prepared as I was closely monitored during my hospital stay. I spent three more days in the hospital and they were able to get my heart rate back down and get into a regular rhythm again. I am supposed to get a procedure called an "Ablation" in January, 2015, which will take care of the erratic heartbeat. I never had any trouble with my heart until the first surgery.

  14. I am 61 and was sleeved November, 2012. I am down 50 pounds and can't wait to lose 50 more !!! I swim 5-7 days a week for an hour at our local YMCA and feeling great.
  15. I just saw my surgeon this afternoon (Wed. Feb. 6) and she told me that Blue Cross will pay for removal of panni after one year from surgery date and a 100 pounds loss. Also, if you have sores and irritated skin it needs to be documented with pictures for more proof that you need this surgery.
  16. Sleeved November 11 in Port Huron by Dr. Karen McFarlane.
  17. My primary care physician insisted I see this particular surgeon.
  18. Sleeved Nov. 7--lost 17 pounds before surgery, lost another 12 after surgery. I have been the same weight for over two weeks, going on three weeks. Don't have any problems tolerating food or beverages so I am lucky there. Really wanted to get another 10 off before Christmas, but can't get the scales to move--ugh!!
  19. I was sleeved on Nov. 7 and I don't feel any restriction and I haven't lost any weight for 9 days. I am very disappointed so far and for everything I put myself and family through with this surgery, I feel I should be further along. I am meeting with NUT and surgeon tomorrow.

  22. I was in the hospital 2 nights also. Slept most of the time the day after surgery. Didn't use phone, I-pad or anything else, didn't feel well enough.
  23. Sleeved on the 7th--not feeling too bad. Still some soreness but each day is better. I can't get all the protein in yet, still working on my first shake of the day. Had a yogurt for breakfast and 1/4 cup of low sodium chicken broth for lunch. My main issue is hunger, I was starving yesterday, not as bad today. Took a shower today, got dressed and then had to sit down and relax. Would like the hunger issue to go away. Hang in there all!
  24. I had my surgery last Wed., Nov. 7. All went well, but today I am starving ! My stomach is rumbling. I have had 2 protein drinks today, 1/4 cup of low sodium chicken broth, 1 sugar free pudding, and 1 sugar free jello. Not as much water as I need but I am trying. I was hoping I wouldn't be so hungry after the surgery. Any suggestions?
