I'm 3 weeks 2 days post op and I haven't lost in 7 days!!! Start weight day of surgery was 225 now I'm 211 but haven't lost any more in a whole week...I feel like I'm too early out to be stalling so long!!! Feeling like a failure...actually the scale said I gained half a pound this morning :( I'm jealous of everyone else who is losing lol

You are not alone. You will find literally hundreds and hundreds of posts on this forum about the dreaded week 3 stall. Seems like almost everyone experiences it (luckily I did not and have never had a stall!).

Just keep doing the right things and it will pass very soon.

I'm 6 weeks out and stalled for a week now. It is very frustrating. After going through this we all want results. Some of us want or expect results as fast as possible. I sure do. I'm working on the positives. I have lost weight. I feel better. My health has improved. Clothes fit better. I look better. I have more energy. That makes up a whole basket full of good stuff compared to one disappointment about a number on a scale. WLS isn't a magic pill, it is one component in a much larger and more complex transformational process.

Kyllfalcon, why do you think you have never stalled?I have never ever ever on any diet, and I have lost and gained hundreds ofmpoundsmover a twenty year period, stalled while on diet.

I am finding this very interesting and wonder if you are doing something different than the rest of us.

Sorry off topic!

I have noticed different people define a stall differently so it is sometimes an apples to oranges comparison. i have had periods of time of slow losses and I have had a week where I didn't lose anything.

The scale measures weight only, so as you lose and gain Water (can be related to so many things!) you can see fluctuations unrelated to your fat loss. Sometimes you are rearranging body composition even as the weight loss is slow (this is especially true later on in the journey).

I think this little article is helpful to understanding the "Reasons" behind it all.

Be patient .. weight yourself once a week (I'm doing it once a day too so am not better than you !)

you will lose the weight just be patient (as long as you're not sipping sugar non stop)

I lost 13 pounds the first week and was ecstatic....weighed myself yesterday, 3 weeks with no weight loss. I have a high BMI so I figured I would lose fast, but I've been taking measurements and lost inches. Try to measure yourself and while it won't take away the sting of a stall, it prevented me from feeling hopeless (I know that's irrational to feel that way so soon post op but hormones run amuck).

I had my husband hide the scale and I'm MUCH happier!! I CAN'T weigh. lol

Seriously, don't get caught up in the numbers right now. Your body is still freaking out!

Get off the scale and keep on keeping on! You WILL lose!!! :D

Hide the scale if you need to! I was there just a month ago but I am determined to stay off the scale. I am a really slow loser too, that is just how my body works. Do not compare YOU to anyone else. You will lose the weight at your own pace. I tell my self that every week before I step onto the scale. The surgery will work for us!

It's like my scale hasn't moved for over a week!! I got sleeved on the 15th so it'll be 3 weeks on the 5th of November and I'm still sitting at about 12kg lost - which is only 4kg lost since surgery :-(

I had the same issue and then it started coming off.. I'm down 40 and its been almost 6 weeks. So dont get discouraged.. its a tool and once you get active it will get better. It's early on so its normal.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
