  2. yeah good for you. great job!!!!
  3. Be careful about lifting boxes and stuff with your move. You shouldn't lift anything for a least 6 weeks. you could open up your staples.
  4. p.s. I confess I'm addicted to weighing myself all the time. okay that's it.
  5. Well, here goes........I confess that I've had a couple of glasses of wine at separate times with dinner, that I've eaten some chocolate, cake, Cookies, pastries and ice cream (just a forkful or two) that I'm not excercising like I should be. that its extremely hard for me to give up carbs but I'm trying very hard and doing the best I can. I promise......that tomorrow will be a better day.
  6. I had pain for weeks on both my sides but mainly the left side. It would come and last for days then go away for a day or two then come back. My surgeon told me she had to stitch up some muscles and that was it. The more active I became (walking) the more the pain would come back until finally healed and is gone for good. Good luck!!!!!
  7. Hmmmm. So far have not found that anything tastes different. It still tastes the same to me. I wish cakes, cookies, candy, chocolate and chips tasted disgusting to me, but no such luck!!!!!
  8. I try to eat fruit, but when that doesn't cut it, I eat a piece or two of Hersheys Dark Chocolate Mini's.
  9. Hi Emily, I'm from Lindenhurst, Long Island. I had my VSG on July 11, 2012. I'm down 37 lbs. I was sleeved in North Shore, LIJ Syosset. My surgeon was Dr. Heather McMullen. I'm so happy I did it. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. Good Luck with yours, Maria
  10. I tried it the other day. It was excellent!!!! Thanks
  11. I'm 8 weeks out and had a glass of wine with my girls the other night and no problem!!!!
  12. I'm 8 weeks out and I've had thin crust pizza twice already. No problems!!!!
  13. yes, I had chest pain and upper back pain (between my shoulders) and it was all gas. It broke up after a few days. Try taking some Gas X and see if it helps.
  14. If your leg aches, I would call the doctor.
  15. I'm 7 weeks out and really can't chug in great quantity. Little chugs LOL
  16. Yes, I know what you meant. I'm feeling great. I'm so thankful that I didn't donate my smaller size clothes because that's what I'm wearing now. I am going to donate my larger clothes that I was wearing pre surgery because I never want to wear them again. I started out at 271 lbs and am now 236 lbs. Oops that's 35 lbs. My goal is 150 lbs. so 86lbs to go. I'm averaging about 1/2 lb a day and am loving it.
  17. It's definitely worth it. I'm 7 weeks out and down 36 lbs. Good Luck!
  18. I had two c-sections and that wasn't so bad. VSG wasn't that bad either. I'm on the fence!!!!!!
  19. it sounds fine to me. very much like my pre op diet. I did have some protein shakes though. Your nutritionist must that's enough protein. They mainly want to shrink the fat in your liver to make the surgery a little easier for them. The protein shakes should come full force in the two weeks post op. Good Luck.
  20. I wouldn't try that hard because you might be on the borderline.
  21. I guess I was lucky also. My surgeon wrote the insurance company the letter and sent everything to the insurance comany. My PCP filled out paper work for my clearance.
  22. I had a bm right away. Very watery. I'm six weeks out and its still watery. But if you don't go soon, I would try some Colace or someother stool softener. I didn't sleep in my bed for a week. I slept on my recliner. It was much easier to get up and down. I didn't have a drain so can't help you there. Good Luck to you.
  23. I hit a stall after 2 weeks post op. How's that for freaking out. I stayed in the stall for almost 3 weeks. Now the scale has be moving again. I'm averaging about 3 lbs a week. Good Luck and seriously have patience it will happen.
