  1. I have always really enjoyed the Atkins and Slimfast Low Carb chocolate shakes, but I thought I would try the Premier. I have to say, not my favorite. Not sure I can put my finger on why though. I also bought the Muscle Milk Light, also not my favorite, but I think I like them better than the Premier. I have heard that tastes can change after surgery though, so we will see. I think it makes sense to try different ones. Also, I am only referring to the RTD's. I haven't even tried the powdered options yet. Has anyone tried the
  2. Felicity, you are just radiant. Thanks for the encouragement!
  3. Brian, that is my one fear and at the same time my greatest motivator, being here for my kids. I am now a single mom and they are also young, but I realize I cannot do the things with them that I would enjoy, and I am concerned about being there for them at all in the long run, if I do not take care of this issue once and for all. Thanks for your inspiring story. I go for surgery on 8/13 and I pray that I don't have a panic attack before going under, and that I have a safe and uncomplicated surgery and recovery (as we all do). 4. Thinking about you today Carey. I know you are recovering well by now. Update us when you can. Welcome tangle!
  5. Island Girl, that's wonderful. Please keep us updated! Blessings!
  6. Alright Misty! Let us know how it goes. I am 10 days after you. By the time I go, you will already be recovering nicely. Blessings!
  7. Yeaaa Nikki! One of the things I have found really comforting is watching Dr. Alvarez's YouTube channel, and reading his book. I am an information junkie and don't like doing anything without having as much knowledge and insight as possible. Here are the links: http://www.youtube.com/endobariatric http://www.thegastricsleeve.com/ Blessings!
  8. Yeaaaa!!!! I am excited that it is coming soon for all of us!
  9. Tameka and Joyce, I am really excited too. I am trying to balance my excitement with the sobering reality of the behavioral changes I will be making. I realize that this is a tool to help me change and not a "quick fix" for a lifetime of poor eating habits. At the same time, I am a little giddy! I really love all of the videos on Dr. A's YouTube channel. That was a huge point of comfort to me. Being educated about what I am considering is incredibly important to me. Now let's just hope I get my passport in time!
  10. I too am having surgery with Dr. Alvarez on Aug 13. Now that I know for sure the surgery is on (except that I am still working to get my passport on time), I am coming to terms with some of the permanent changes I will be facing.
