  1. That too tight is much worse than the no restriction. I can relate, I can do liquids fine and soggy cheerios, but any solids and it's gonna come back. Thanks for all the posts above, just because I've been banded 4 months sure doesn't mean you know it all. I'll be doing totally liquids for quite a few days. I just want to go 1 day with out the "slime".
  2. I've been banded for four months now and I don't think I've been full yet, instead I start to pb, then I know I'm full. Usually, I try to stop eating, just because I figure I've had enough, but if I don't stop soon enough, it will come back...then it's stand back. I often wonder if I'm just use to the prebad and waiting to feel like I'm going to be miserable and feel like I'm going to burst, hummmmm.
  3. I had a fill last Wed, had to have part removed before leaving his office because water came back. I feel like I'm back in the mushy stage. Any solids and it's coming back for sure, although, last night I did keep down some cheerios. I think I'd rather have less restriction and be able to keep down what I do eat. I'm trying to hang in there and see if it gets better, but this slime mess is getting old.
  4. I didn't bruise, but my mom had some big brusies and we had the same surgeon. He must have had to smack her a couple of times, LOL.
  5. Alexandra, WOW Is that really your mother there? That is absolutely amazing. Thanks everyone for sharing your pictures. I tried to do a before and after, heaven only knows where it ended up, LOL.

Awww, how sweet, just when you thought nobody had noticed. I'll bet she's so proud of her mommy.
  7. I would have told your friend, "well, duh, if weight watchers would have worked I wouldn't be going this route, and I'm extremely excited". Also, is your friend thin?
  8. Alex, were you running around singing, "if you think I'm sexy...." ? You look adorable, keep up the good work!
  9. Wow looks like fun in the sun. Nice Marriott too. Thanks for sharing.
  10. Bless your heart Val, you've been through so much. I feel so bad for you, I can so relate to the IV issue, ERRRR! Hope you're back in tip top shape real soon.
  11. I've said many times since my band, I don't plan to ever diet again, but I will make every effort to avoid the pitfalls that put me here in the first place, AND, patting myself on the back now, I feel like I have done that. Maybe I have been stronger at other times since being banded, but I have focus of where I want to go, not where I've been.
  12. Thank you for sharing that story. What a nice boost.
  13. Congratulations on the weight loss, that's awesome. I'm a 4cc myself, my mom who was just banded at 73 also got the 4cc, which surprised me because her bmi was higher than mine. I had to laugh when the doctor told me after surgery that she was "small" on the inside.
  14. I found the Lipton green tea pretty filling. You can do it, you can do it!
  15. Hey Ladie B, how are you doing? My doctor doesn't use flouro either, just got my 3rd fill, had to have some removed before I left his office, LOL. I guess I'm just a little sensitive. Three fills and 2 unfills, LOL. I have a 4cc band with 1.75 in it. Just call me a sissy.
  16. Very good news indeed. I'm glad you have piece of mind now. Good luck!
  17. Paula, my mom is 73 and was banded last week. She's doing great. She was banded on Thursday, came home on Friday, and we went to a family outing on Saturday. Nobody even knew she had surgery. My mom is diabetic as well, hopefully that will be short lived now that she has the band. I have to admit I was surprised when the doctor agreed to do her surgery, but afterwards he told her she responded better than some of his younger patients. How old is your mom?
  18. Thanks Vera for sharing those pictures. Glad to hear you're doing well, good luck with the new band.
  19. Baked or broiled fish. Soups, gee how'd we get along with out them now? I was never big on soup prior to banding, but I'll eat almost any kind of soup now.
  20. I was getting email notice when a response had been posted to a thread I had viewed, then all of a sudden it stopped. About two weeks ago, out of no where or any adjustments to my profile, they started up again. Since I check here many times a day, I don't think I really need the notices now, oh well.
  21. I had some popcorn today, first time since banding, and no problems at all, which was really great since I'm super tight since my last fill on Wed.
  22. Kirsten, I had anothe fill last week too, but had to have part of it taken out before I left the doctors office because I couldn' t get Water to go down and that was at 2cc in my 4cc band. So now I'm about 1.75 and tight as a tick. I did get some popcorn to go down and stay down today. On my second fill I had to go back after 10 days and have some taken out too. I guess I'm a wuss! Of course smoothies go down, but they're even on the tight side. I really prefer being a little looser than this. I know it takes longer to lose, but I hate pbng and it happens a lot. Isn't it amazing how 2cc effects us all so differently? On a more positive note, I've lost a couple of pounds since Wed's fill. Good Luck!
  23. Welcome and good luck on your journey to a slimmer, healthier you!
  24. Gram, my mom sailed through the surgery on Thursday, she even went to my aunt's 80th birthday party today and nobody even suspected she'd been operated on. She did great, good luck.
  25. Kathy, my mom was banded Thursday, hope you're doing as great as she is, and she's 73.5, hehe. She didn't even have severe gas pains and hasn't taken any meds for pain since the day of surgery. Tough ol bird she is, LOL. Hope all is well with you and I'm anxious to hear from you. Congratulations and welcome to bandland.
