Question??
My doctor fixed a h. hernia during my band placement and I had no indegestion until about two weeks ago when my fill was too tight and I pbd everything for about 10 days, now since I've gotten an unfill, I'm still getting indegestion, I'm afraid I've caused another hernia, boohoo.

Eeeek!!!
I think that's a pretty common fear in all of us. My doctor stitched my stomach around my band and he stitched the port to a muscle. I just hope he used good thread.

DH has foot injury....
OUCH! Sorry to hear about the toes, to make matters worse, most men are such whinny patients. You might as well get some duct tape and tape that pillow around your belly, with all the getting up and down you're gonna be doing, LOL.

painful empty stomach feeling
Everytime I've taken a bite of a french fry or real mashed potatoes it's caused a problem, eggs I do fine with, love omlets, but then again most people are tight in the AM, I'm wide open in the AM and tight at night. We're all different, good luck. Like Betty said, eat the protein first. My favorite was and still is chili. I have found that to be my protein, fiber. and comfort food, except when I had too much fill, then only water went down and stayed down. Please reconsider removing the band, give it a little longer to be your best friend, I think you'll be glad you did in the long run.

Levi Jeans Anyone?
If they're too short, ya can always cut them off and make capri jeans. I have a couple of pair and love them.

GOT FILLED LAST MONDAY, TOO TIGHT NOW! What should I do?
Karen, it's not unsual not to lose, your body's probably trying to hold onto anything it could get and storing it. I hope things get a lot better for you.

Reaction from others
Jack, I always take the time to explain as well, because everyone always says, Oh, I know somebody that had that done, bla bla bla. Then I automatically start explaining.

Question??
Good luck Kelly, let us know how it went at the doctor.

Reached first goal!! Buh, bye 300's...m
Congratulations, you've done a wonderful job. Keep up the good work and those pounds will keep melting. Good luck on finding that sweet spot with that fill, but it sounds like you're doing just fine without one. You go girl!

GOT FILLED LAST MONDAY, TOO TIGHT NOW! What should I do?
Hey Karen, Just curious how you're doing, if you conquered the tightness or if you had a little removed. Please let us know. Now I think I should have hung in there longer than 10 days, pooh.

Oh My only 9 days to go
Good for you Tanya! Yes, your memory is great, Jeffrey Allen was the proctor. I felt much safer with being the first adj LB for my doctor, knowing there extra hands there in case of problems. Enjoy that time off and it's good to see you have your "house in order", so to speak, lol. There is a website called, www.buythebullet.com, which is starting a forum for us bullet users. They also have a recipe section and of course you can order the Magic Bullet and accessories as well. I'm very excited for you.

Sassaay, I've even asked guys before what they're wearing and told them they smell good. Guys love it when you tell them they smell goooood.

GOT FILLED LAST MONDAY, TOO TIGHT NOW! What should I do?
Karen, I just copied and pasted this reply, which was orignally to Kelly.... I had to get an unfill Mar 11, I waited 9 days, thought it was swelling, NOT. I could keep Water and coffee down, but soup or anything else came back. I couldn't even eat my all time safe food...chili, not even pureed. If you're not more open by tomorrow I'd definately call for a little to be taken out. It's really weird, but since the unfill most of the time I can eat anything and too much of anything, but at the darnest time, like when I was at a restaurant yesterday, the first bite and I was done, had to go pb in the restroom. Now today, wide open again, don't think I could get a pb if I tried, lol. I will mention when I apologized to my doctor for having to get the unfill, he said that's the wonderful thing about this band, adjustment is so easy. I hope he feels that way when I call him and tell him I need more tomorrow . So remember, that is the good thing about this band we don't have to be miserable, don't suffer if you don't have to. Be sure to keep us posted and good luck. PS Karen, its a scary thing after a few days, I don't think your period would have that much of a bearing on the huge amount of restriction your experiencing.

just one week has passed and i am ready to give up!
Marie is right again, when you start feeling sad or down, get that mouse and click away. I remember watching my son eat sushi, (he did bring me some soup, yuk tufu), I was about 3 days out of surgery, omg, I almost started crying. I clicked on LBT and through the support of these wonderful folks, I too was reminded I was healing and I would be able to partake in food again and family outings, (I was just starting the mushy stage at Christmas). Great advice here, I'm off and on here all day, pm me any time.

Question on stages post-op
I came home on Tuesday and drove on Wednesday, BUT, I was told to wait a week. As for calories in the liquid stage, I had no restriction, this is the healing time. More important that calories was Protein. IMO and my nutritionist, protein was more important until you get your first fill. Good Luck PS, your band date is my birthday.

Back from Belgium and Banded
Congratulations and welcome aboard the band wagon. Take it easy and don't try to do too much too fast.

Jamie, Welcome To Bandland
Yes, I had one too. The purpose is to clear the lungs to prevent pneumonia or lung fluids. I used mine for several days after getting home. Glad you're feeling better...day by day!

Morbid Obesity is a DISEASE
New report on the news today that MO is shortening the average life span, (imagine that), but insurance companies still refuse to pay. There was a lot of emphasis put on obese children, which become obese adults. Hopefully, help is on the way.

What is recovery like?
I didn't have a lot of pain, mostly discomfort. I had 1 night in the hospital, and once I was home I took 1/2 a pain pill the first night, just cause I wanted to be sure I'd sleep well, not because I was in pain. I didn't have tummy gas pains, but left shoulder pain, which was eased with massage. I was driving in a couple of days, (doctor said wait a week), but I felt great, BUT, everyone's different. Good luck to you.
