  1. Don't worry about that.... I think most of us read "typo". Just glad to hear you are feeling better.
  2. Welcome and congrats on your surgery date!!!
  3. If it's the same as a lap band, sliming is when the opening to your stomach is very tight and your body thinks something is caught so it over produces saliva to try and wash away the obstruction, causing your mouth to fill with saliva. I had this happen countless times with the band but not with my sleeve, but only had surgery on the 4th. Maybe you are having some swelling around your sleeve that is causing the tightness and sliming.
  4. Thanks so much for your help. Relating your experiences makes me feel so much better..... I must have done too much yesterday. It still hurts like a mother, so I'm babying myself until it goes away. Eventhough it was good...... at this point I'm not sure going to see "The Avengers" was such a good idea...... although during the movie I was feeling pretty good looking at all that beefcake. LOL
  5. Oh you poor thing..... I'm so sorry you are going thru this. It sounds like your doctor is on top of it though. You will definately be in my thoughts and prayers. Big hugs!!!
  6. I'm in my second week too.... yeah us My main source of protein is a protein drink by EAS. It is low fat, carbs and sugars. I get 17g of protein and drink three a day. (plus they help with my fluid intake) I've also had some tomato soup made with FF milk, some really runny refried beans with FF cheese, SF pudding and I'm still having SF popcycles. My doctor said don't be in a hurry to get to a more solid diet, so I'm taking his advice. Gonna try some cream of wheat later.
  7. Hey Delta..... just put in a lil prayer for you and thinking good thoughts for ya. Big hugs!!!
  8. I took mine right before surgery too and was so shocked. What I saw in the mirror and what the camera saw were two different people. I'm so glad I did this and you will be too. Best of luck on Monday, I'll be pulling for ya
  9. I woke up this morning with lots of pain on my left side, much more than I have had since first having surgery. I thought I was getting a little bit better everyday until whammy this happened and it feels like I'm back to day one or two. I had surgery 5/4/12, so it's been 12 days. Is this normal or has anyone else had this happen? Two things I did different yesterday..... a lot more walking (went to the movies in the mall and it was a long walk) and started Prilosec for bad reflux. Any info you might have or experienced would really help, I'm kinda freaking that I did something to myself. Isn't it past the time leaks and things happen?
  10. Sorry you are going thru such horrible nausea.... that must be horrible. Is the doctor giving you anti-nausea meds? My doctor started mine in my IV before surgery and continued them until I was discharged. I didn't have any nausea. Hang in there....... Big hugs!
  11. Wow oh wow, what a great weight loss on liquids. You must have been so focused. Best of luck on your upcoming surgery..... if your pre-op diet is any indication you are going to do amazing when you get your sleeve. Keep us updated
  12. Thanks for posting your pics..... what great inspiration they are. You look amazing!!!!
  13. Firstly....... You looked beautiful on your wedding day. Congrats on doing something you wanted to do after losing weight...... great NSV.
  14. Congratulations!!! You must be so happy, that's such a major goal.
  15. That is amazing.... you must be so stoked!!!! Keep up the great work.
  16. Welcome! I didn't go thru the 6 month countdown so I'm zero help in that department...... but I'm always good for a smile and a hug Best of luck!
  17. Anxious is normal. You are in my thoughts and prayers!
  18. Woot! Woot! And it's only going to get better!
  19. I'm having a lot of trouble with reflux waking me up in the middle of the night. I wake up with a vomit taste in my mouth,..... very icky. It's been happening every night. I'm not eating for at least 3 hours before bed and have been sleeping propped up with pillows and even tried the recliner. I'm taking Zantac 150 twice a day plus tums antigas as needed. What is better than Zantac that I can try? That has always worked for me before. (I'm typing this in the middle of the night because the reflux woke me up again)
  20. WTG Sharon...... that's the right attitude!!! Best wishes on your upcoming surgery.
  21. Take care and hope you feel better! You'll be out of there in no time.
  22. I had my band in Tijuana and my revision in Cancun. No problems in either place. I can't imagine anyone saying such terrible things, especially your mother. I'm so sorry you are having to go thru this. Pre-surgery is stressful enough without having to put up with that nonsense. I'd definately recommend asking her to not bring up the subject again. Big hugs!
  23. I've been looking at some of the Vitamins that were suggested (thanks again) and was wondering if anyone knows why they contain 3 or even 4 times what is the recommended daily allowance. Also, how often do you have blood work to check your vitamins?
  24. Thanks again, I'm going to look into all your suggestions.
