When did you dye your hair postop?
i am a hair dresser. I colored my hair the day before surgery and then at 3 weeks post op and then every 3 weeks after that (i do my color every 3 weeks because i can't stand the grey.) My professional advice is to stick to color that is Ammonia free. I would stay away from High Lights and Perms for a while because that does change the integrity of the hair. I don't see anything wrong with coloring your hair at 4 months out! If you are not taking any extra supplements consider taking Biotin. I have been taking Biotin since 3 months pre-op and i have not been shedding more then the usual. We are supposed to lose around 100 Strands of hair per day.

Various rants and raves
It's very hard but you can get through this. Here are some things that helped me get through it. First of all get on Myfitnesspal.com and start tracking your food intake if you havent already done so. Start out small. In your situation with ritz crackers start out with 3 or 4 crackers. chances are that is all you will need to be satisfied. (ritz crackers are my weakness as well). Get yourself some powdered Peanut butter and add it to the chocolate protein shake. Tastes just like a reeses peanut butter cup! If you are on pinterest there are many boards dedicated to protein shake recipes. They have some really good recipes. You can also check out http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/ she has some great recipes as well for protein as well as other stuff. I have a hard time drinking water as well (HATE IT) i use Mio, Crystal Light, diet ice tea etc. to get my drink in. I also have an app that reminds me to drink every hour (it gets annoying but it has helped me improve my intake) its called water your body. As far as the incisions put a bandaid over them. I had a rough time wearing a bra and jeans for a while and the bandaids really made a HUGE difference. As you get farther along it will get easier and easier! Good luck!

2 week stall at about 2 1/2 months post op
I am 2 1/2 months out as well and also in a stall. I am getting in around 700-800 calories a day and around 70-80 grams of protien. Water not too good maybe 30 ounces on a good day. I figured i am adding more water and joined the gym yesterday. Hopefully this will catapult me out of my 2 week stall! Good Luck!

So...I joined a gym
Congratulations! I just joined yesterday! Cant afford a personal trainer but i go with a friend and she is probably better then a personal trainer. So far so good! I'm a bit sore but i know each day will get better!

Something horrible happened last night...
Ask your mom/dad to accompany you to mexico for your surgery if they are so scared. Promise them if you or they see something out of the ordinary or unsafe conditions that you will back out of it. Have the Dr send you his credentials. And most importantly try to reason with them. If my insurance didn't cover my surgery i probably would of gone to Mexico as well. Luckily my Insurance covered my surgery and i am now 11 weeks post op and loving it. They mean well. Now your husband i would send to the Dog house! Good luck

2 weeks post op, and I GAINED 2 lbs?
I agree with kirk. Broths have ALOT of sodium in them. You may just be retaining water. At 2 weeks post op i gained 4 lbs and then one day they disappeared. Don't over think it. Its normal!

Yonanas?
i think i want one! I have never seen or heard of a yonana. Looks pretty cool!
-
Portion size for puree stage?
At 3 weeks all i could manage was about 1/4 cup.
-
No weight loss
You need to eat more. Your body is in starvation mode and hanging on to whatever you are eating. And are you seriously asking if you should take diet pills??? Because you should know what the answer to that is.

Will my marriage survive?
I think all of our partners become insecure even more so if they are insecure to begin with. My hubby has made a few comments as well about me changing. Oh well! At this point i really hope he will see that i am still the same person that i was pre-op except i eat alot less. And you are right in a few weeks when she has surgery she will completely understand exactly how you are feeling! Hope things get better!

To Puree or Not To Puree...That is my question
Try the ricotta bake You can find the recipe at http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/08/pureed-foods.html I did not have to puree my food, thank god, but eggface does has some pretty good recipes for all stages.

? about dehydration
How did you now you were dehydrated and when did you know that you needed to go to the hospital? I have never been a huge drinker and post op i have been averaging between 35-45 ounces of fluids. Just curious to know what made you know it was time to go to the ER for some IV's? Thanks

Having a hard time drinking water, any help
Try drinking the water at different temperatures and try adding things like MIO or Crystal Light. Also eat sugar free popsicles. Each popsicle is about 1.8 ounces of water.
-
Can I REALLY go through with this?
you wont have to drink them forever. Each dr is different but eventually you will be able to eat enough protien that you wont need the shakes. Also there are so many different protien companies and different flavors, you just have to try them until you find the "right" one for your palate. I am 2 months post op and loving it! I dont mind my shakes anymore. I actually look forward to what new concoction i can come up with. Some taste great, some not so much! good luck!

You know you're constipated when...
Your popping prunes like they are bon-bon's!

Bread crumbs/Panko
I have no problem with bread crumbs or panko but i do try to avoid both. I pull the skin off of the chicken (if i am eating out) and if i am cooking i always buy skinless.

2 year history
I would probably ask your primary dr. (especially if you have been seeing him/her for two years if they can write a letter to the insurance company saying exactly that he didn't have a wheel chair accessible scale and see what happens.

Im actually sleeved!
Congrats. Sounds like gas pain. I used a heating pad and would place it on my back and on my chest and it helped with the pain. You also want to walk around the house. it helps move that gas out of you.
