  1. I have not heard anything so far. I think i am going to call the insurance company tomorrow. Good luck to all of you that sent your paperwork in!
  2. If funny how some Dr's schedule the date before the Insurance approves and others dont. Im not approved yet but my date is July 2. Good luck to you all!
  3. My Dr. said no swimming for 6 weeks after post op
  4. yay! Congratulations! My paperwork was sent to the insurance company. Still waiting for approval.
  5. Now im sitting here anxious and nervous. Please send some good vibes my way. My surgery is scheduled for July 2.
  6. I ordered the unjury sampler and so far love the vanilla and strawberry flavors. I still have to try the chocolate. I figured i would save the chicken broth and unflavored one for after i have surgery. I have tried the Chike protien drinks and so far im not impressed.
  7. I am one of those people who dont give a **** about what anyone says. I have told just about anyone that will listen that i am having surgery. People will talk if you tell them and they will talk if you don't tell them. I have heard mostly positive remarks but have heard a couple of negative comments about having surgery. You know what i told them? " Im sorry you feel that way, but you know that saying Opinions are like a$$holes everyone has one, that is your opinion" I am happy with my decision and no one is going to rain on my parade!
  8. Hi, Im in Woodbridge, NJ and will be sleeved July 2 at overlook hospital. My surgeon is Dr. Goyal. Counting down the days!
  9. I am pre-op and my Dr. says to have 1 shake each day. Mix with either water or Fat free Lactaid milk. I can have them for weeks 1 and 2
  10. I swear you cant even taste that its any different from regular fruit flavored yogurt if you use the sf syrups.
  11. A 6 ounce serving of Chiobani fat free plain greek yogurt has 7grams of sugars. I then use a sugar free, calorie free strawberry syrup to make it taste good. I personally can't eat plain yogurt. Don't like how it tastes. not sure if that is too much sugar. I have never noticed a completely sugar free yogurt. My Surgeon recommends the Chiobani.
  12. From my understanding my Dr's office faxes the paperwork to the insurance company and then they give them 2 days and then they start calling them on a daily basis. I was told i should have an answer in a few days. My paperwork was faxed over yesterday. Keeping fingers crossed!
  13. well good luck to you! I too am waiting for my approval. So i am a nervous wreck! My paperwork was faxed over today! My inlaws live in Roselle! Im having my surgery at Overlook in Summit. Where are you having yours?
  14. YAY! More sleeve buddies! I'm having my surgery in NJ. Good luck to you both!
  15. Thanks for all the info! Well we will soon find out if i will be covered. I am so nervous that after all the work that i have put into getting this surgery they wont cover me. So i am praying hard! The Nutrituional counseling and behavior modification can be crossed off your list by visiting a nutritionist. Meritain required me to do 4 visits with the nutritionist. they also required 5 years weight history (which i was able to get from my pcp) 6 months of failed weight loss programs (which luckily i had done 4 months of Jenny Craig and 2 months of weight watchers My navigator has recieved all that stuff and so now once i go to my Pre-op nutritional class (on wednesday) and my Consent signing appointment (thursday) they will fax everything to the insurance co. Keeping fingers crossed!
  16. I am so nervous and excited. Not nervous about the actual surgery! Nervous that my insurance will decide to not cover for some crazy reason. The anxiety is killing me.
  17. Sounds like gall bladder pains. Call the Dr. for sure.
  18. There are lots of Dr's that do not support WLS. Some because they are not up to date with the new surgeries, Some because they feel that "You can lose the weight on your own" and others are just plain ignorant. I have not yet asked my Dr. for my physician letter. If she says no i will tell her thanks for your services, ask for my records and move on to the next Dr. I don't agree with what others have said about not having health issues yet. You ALREADY have a health issue! You, just like me, are OVERWEIGHT and that alone is a health issue! We are all scared to death. But you know what? Im more scared of not seeing my kids go to College, Get married, have grandchildren. That is what I'm more affraid of! Good luck to you with whatever decision you make.
  19. Its another message board. obesityhelp.com I found that one first when i was on the hunt for info. and about a week or 2 ago i came across this messageboard.
  20. The waiting game is horrible. I for one am going nuts especially since my insurance hasn't given me the final say on whether i will have to do a 3 month or 6 month supervised diet. I am currently on month 2 my third appointment with the NUT is May 8. So either i am having surgery sometime in June or September. Not knowing is going to put me in the looney bin because at this point i just want it DONE already. I read the boards every day both hear and on OH and when i read the posts about having a date for surgery It makes me want my date even more .... wa wa wa I know pull out the violin right?
  21. I am currently doing the supervised diet thing but i am not allowed to loose weight because they dont want me to fall to far under the BMI. Im currently at a 39.6 but have a comorbility (High Blood Pressure) Unfortunately my insurance carriers changed and we are still waiting on whether i have to complete the 6 months or if i can do it the 3 months. What we do at the nutritionist is: 1st visit She weighed me and then ihad to fill out her intake. She looked over it and basically told me that for the first month she wanted me to cut out sugary drinks, and drink more Water. (30 minute visit) 2nd visit. She explained to me what i could eat after surgery and pre-op and explained that i had to eat slow and a bunch of stuff i already learned from the vets here. my task for this month was to eat slower and to chew everything at least 30 times. (the chewing things 30 times makes me want to gag) (1 hour visit) If all goes well my may visit may be my 3rd and last visit with her and they can submit all my paperwork. As far as insurance goes my deductable is $300 and they will cover 100% of my surgery and anesthesiologist which im very thankful for cause i dont have the money to pay for it out of pocket. The only thing is that they still have not decided whether i will do the 3 month or 6 months with the NUT.
  22. I havent had VSG yet but I had my appendix and my gall bladder taken out in 2009 and i still have the scars. They are lighter then my skin tone but still somewhat visible.
