  1. Cathi, Congrats on your up-coming anniversary of being cancer free....I pray that you will continue to do well.... The band is a wonderful tool....It keeps me from eating to much...that has always been my problem...I can eat nearly anything I want, just not a lot of it...I eat a half a cup per meal...three meals a day...no in between snacking....I love the band...it is the best thing I have ever done...
  2. I can go out to eat and order whatever I want...I just can't eat more than a half of cup for the meal....This is really not a big problem....
  3. Alysa, I guess you can find foods to eat on the run....You will just have to find time to eat...and you have to eat slowly....taking small bites and chew, chew, chew...no drinking 30 minutes before meal and no drinking one hour after..or at least that is my doctors orders...every doctor is different, so yours might not require the drinking order....I don't know...Good luck to you...I hope all goes well for you....
  4. Welcome to LBT...Maybe you should check with your doctor to see if he has changed his way of doing fills....Maybe in the beginning that is the only way they knew to do them...My doctor does not use Fluro/barium..She numbed the port area and then went in and filled...no real pain...just a little stick...was not bad at all.....good luck and I hope you can find a way to have a fill.....
  5. Congrats on your banding....You have only been banded for three weeks and two days...you still have lots of swelling on inside...My doctor said not to worry about weight loss the first month...you are still healing...The weight will start to come off....just relax and enjoy your band....
  6. Congrats on your banding....I agree with Betty...Once you start drinking your protein drinks and eating your sf jello and sf popcicles, you will feel better....good luck and welcome to bandland....
  7. Congrats on your band....Don't compare yourself to others!!!! Just work with the band and allow it to help you each step of the way....It is going to come off faster for some and slower for others...just don't worry about it...take one day at a time....and enjoy the journey..Good luck and I hope that all continues to go well for you....Welcome to bandland....
  8. Audrey, You are so normal....I was scared to death....I was so afraid that something would go wrong and I couldn't have the surgery done...I was excited and scared at the same time... Honey, don't worry about what other people say or think....you owe them nothing....just get your band and start this wonderful journey...I was banded on 4/30/07 and I have lost 30 lbs....I am so glad I had this done....and the night before I started THE REQUIRED two week liquid diet before the surgery....My husband, two daughters and their families, went out to eat...we called it the "LAST SUPPER"...I was so glad I did...I enjoyed it very much...and it was a time for me to relax and have a great supper with my family....
  9. congrats on pregnancy and the weight loss...that is great....
  10. Welcome to LBT...congrats on your surgery...glad all is going well....
  11. Felicia, That is sad that you can't get the support from you mom...I would just not dicuss anything about the surgery with her...Just know that you have lots of friends here at LBT, that will stand with you....and don't try to explain the surgery to anyone that you think will be negative...Only your opinion of the surgery counts...good luck....
  12. Congrats on tummy tuck...that is great....glad you are back with LBT....
  13. Great post...I loved it....good luck to all those getting ready for surgery...Hope everything goes well for all....
  14. 7 lbs to go for me...I am so excited....I can't wait to be in onederland....
  15. Terry & Connie, I need to get on target...I have shut out those little voices and I just don't exercise...I have a great treadmill, but I get so bored with that....I have lots of weights to work out with, but again, I get bored with it...I need to listen to those little voices and get busy....You both have inspired me to get up off my butt.....I will walk on my treadmill before the day is done...and I will work out with my weights...thanks for the inspiration....
  16. Congrats on your band...that is great....I was banded on 4/6/07 and my first fill was 5/17/07...I have lost 30 lbs and I feel great....by the way....April 23, is my birthday...Be sure to go to the April banders thread...and be added to the list of April banders...
  17. I have only had one fill, but I try to see how little I can eat and be satisfied...I don't try to see how much I can eat and be full...
  18. It could also be your blood-sugar dropping....that can make you lightheaded...
  19. I hope that you find the answers that you are looking for....I know that the band has really been good for me..I love it...I agree with Katspaww, do the research, check with your doctor....and maybe he will be able to give you the answers....good luck...I wish you only the very best...
  20. does she look like Rachael Ray to you?
  21. To all that are being banded this coming week....Good luck to each and everyone of you...I pray that all goes well and you will be here posting, telling us all about your surgery....You will all be just fine...take it easy for the first few days...don't try to rush yourself....just relax....You are getting ready for bandland.....YAHOOOOOOOO!!!!!
  22. Sunny, I think it is perfectly normal to be excited and nervous...I was a nervous wreck....I wasn't scared to have the surgery, I was afraid that something would happen and I couldn't have the surgery... After the sugery the pain is not that bad...you are uncomfortable, but not in a screaming type of pain.......take your pain meds and you will be fine...and remember, walk, walk, walk, and take the liquid gas-x...you will be just fine....I am so excited for you....I wish that everyone that wants and needs the band could get it done...I hate that the insurance companies are hard on some...I was denied, but did self-pay and had it done anyway.....I am so glad that I did.... Be sure to post and let us know how you are doing....good luck...I will be thinking of you on Thursday....
  23. Welcome to LBT....this is such a great group of caring people...I have found that if you have any questions, someone in this group can answer them.....they are super.....good luck on your new journey...you will be a bandster before you know it....
  24. Mine growls....and growls loudly......I was so afraid that it would start growling really loud in church...that would have been so embarrassing...
