I am not near as hungry now, as I use to be...I still get hungry, but the band will only allow me to eat a half a cup...so that helps...once I eat that...I am full.....

Okay, You all have inspired me...I need to get up and get busy.....I will do my walk....it is only a mile, but I hope that I can increase that to at least a 1 1/2 miles....thanks girls....

wow...10 months out and you have lost 100 lbs...that is awesome.....I hope I can do as well....

I don't snack....I eat three small meals a day and drink all the liquids that I can.....

Hey Tracy, I was banded on 4/6/07...I am going for my first fill on 5/17/07....I am anxious to see the doctor ...I just want to make sure all is okay...I have had no problems, but I stay so nervous....I am so afraid that I will do something wrong and I will have problems....sounds silly, doesn't it? I am just a worry wart...I read the post about slipped bands and flipped ports, kinda gets you to thinking...what if mine is flipped or what if my band has slipped...I do have a strange feeling in my stomach at night time...it feels like my stomach is rolling up....and pushing the band up....I have no idea what this is....

Has anyone tried to go to the chat room??? Everytime I try to go, I get an error message....

Sorry, I can't help you....maybe if you get online you could find a psych doctor, that would take insurance....

Congratulations on your decision to be banded...that is wonderful..I was banded in Texas, so I can't help you with the surgeon in your area...I was also a self-pay, so I can't help with the insurance info...you are probably wondering why I even posted...lol.....because I wanted to welcome you to the site.....and I hope all goes well for you....

I will be praying that all goes well.....I know you must be so excited...I remember how excited I was....and nervous....I am still nervous....I have been banded since 4/6/07.....everything makes me question if I am okay.. Good luck to you...

JetlagJane, Your story breaks my heart...to think of you up at 4:00 a.m. crying because you hate yourself....don't hate yourself....maybe the band is for you, like "Musicalmomma" said, talk to your doctor and tell him everything you have told us......you will be just fine...I wish you all the best....good luck...and please let us know how you are doing...

That is right...just stick to your liquids and you will do fine....so proud you are banded...you are now on your journey....

Ivy, Welcome to the site...sounds like you are ready to start your journey...You will be just fine...just remember....the band is a tool, not a magic wand....you will have do the work, but your band will help you....You will be healthier and happier....just keep thinking positive...don't think about negative things...and stay away from negative people....you don't need them...

I was a self pay....so....I was put on two weeks liquid diet and then had my surgery... Congratulations on your approval...that is great....

You wouldn't have felt it earlier, due to swelling in stomach ...now that the swelling is going down, you can feel the port....once you start to lose the weight you will be able to feel it even more..... Hope this helps...I know how you feel...I was so scared....

Your story is so sad...and it sounds like hundreds of other stories I have read at this site...You have come to the right place...Everyone here is so supportive...You will be able to read lots of post that sounds so much like your own...We have all been where you are today....Why does your doctor not support your decision to have lapband? Does he/she, really know what the lapband is? Why does your mother not approve? If they could only read the reports of how lapband has helped so many people, maybe they would understand what a valuable tool this is... I hope that you are able to get the band...I know how hard it is to try and do this on your own...I have tried every diet known to man...I even had staples put in my ears, I have been hypnotized, I have tried all the diet pills(even Phen-Fen)...I would lose some, but always gain it back... Good luck to you...I hope that somehow you will be able to banded...keep coming to this site and continue to read the post...maybe, you will find a way to have this done....

Marcy, This is a very big decision...it is not one to take lightly....I knew this is what I wanted, almost from the very first time I had heard about the lapband....I thought about the gastric by-pass, but I just felt it was to invasive... I was so tired of thinking about the weight...I went to sleep thinking about it and I got up thinking about it...I was so tired of struggling...I have been banded since 4/6/07 and I am so glad that I made the decision to have lapband....I don't regret it for one minute....There may be some complications with others, and it might happen to me. I pray that it doesn't, but I had to take the chance.....I just know that without the help of the band, I would continue to gain weight and never be able to get it off...trust me....I have tried every single diet there is.....

I am Diann from Texas....I was banded on 4/6/07 and have lost 27 lbs...I will get my first fill on 5/17/07...so as you can see, I have not been banded to long...I was a self-pay..so I went in on Monday and started two week liquid diet on that Friday and had surgery two weeks later...when you self pay, you don't have to wait for long..they get you in and boom, it is done...So glad that I was banded....I couldn't be happier.... Once again....welcome....

When I lose all the weight I need to lose, I am going to _______________. Go into to Kato's and turn to the left...(that is where the skinny clothes are) turn to the right...that is the big sizes.....

I think you are just feeling guilty...I wouldn't think your doctor is going to chew you out..You are an adult...He will probably just get you back on track and give you a little pep talk....remember, he wants you to succeed....so....don't be afraid...just go in and start on a new journey...but....please don't cancel your next appt....

After reading your post, I don't understand how you are overweight....You work out and you eat no junk food...maybe your calorie intake is high, but if you are burning it off, looks like you would be thin....you mentioned taking meds, could your meds be making you gain weight?
